Port des Torrent Bay
by Tolik
The Torrent Bay is one of the most romantic places on Ibiza. The bay naturally looks over the Badia de Sant Antoni and characteristic mountain called Nono (258m).
The area around Torrent Bay is quiet and very beautiful. The golden sand beach is the best in San Anoni area. Torrent Bay Club is 150m away from the sea. On the other side of the bay there are 2 hotels and several shops (a supermarket, shoe store etc.).
Several time a day a boat comes from San Antoni giving the visitors alternative to cars and buses.
Ibiza

I have been to San Antonio, in Ibiza 5 times in the last 6 years. We found San Antonio to be very relaxing, hoping to return in 2002. Some people have the wrong idea of Ibiza, particularly after watching tv programmes showing younger people enjoying club life. We saw young people being brought in by boat to our beach, Port des Torrent Bay, where 18-30 holidays took them out for the day to a small holding. It livened up the beach, but only for a very short time, whilst they disembarked and after thoroughly enjoying themselves for a picnic and a good sing song close by in a closed in area, they embarked and were of again.
There are quite a few restaurants and a few shops in Port des Torrent for people to wonder round, but this area is quite small. You can catch a bus to San Antonio for a few pesatas and return at leisure or if you wish you can go on the beach and catch the small boat to San Antonio Town. This journey takes only about 20 minutes, also for a few pesatas. On arrival at San Antonio harbour you are alongside much larger boats, some even glass bottom which if you wish, can take you around the north part of San Antonio and see the different types of fish through the glass bottom in the boat.
San Antonio is a beautiful harbour and has many cafes on the front and walking up and down the streets off the front you can see many shops and clubs. Whilst there you can catch a bus to Ibiza Town for a journey which lasts for about 25 minutes, but be careful as this bus takes you to the business area of Ibiza Town and you have to walk quite a distance to their marina and see their boats coming in. If you are lucky you might see passenger boats arriving from the mainland with peoples' vehicles on board, even huge lorries packet with their goodies.
Like San Antonio, Ibiza Town also has many cafes awaiting for you to use and there are various streets for you to miander round and spend your money!
I would recommend Port des Torrent, which is about 5/6 miles out of San Antonio Town, with San Antonio Beach inbetween, to any body who really wants a very quite holiday with the occasional visit to visit Ibizas delights. We went on an organised tour and visited the church of San Jose, a cave, the Saltines, where salt is mined, we visited a pearl factory, a pottery factory and the resorts of Santa Elulia, Portinax and San Miguel. These tours can be a bit expensive, but they are well worth it.
