More about Inturotel Sa Marina & Es Sivinar
Loved Sa Marina!!!!
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a week and have to say that it was one of the best Holidays ever!!
After reading some of the reviews we didnt know what to expect but for those who gave it a bad review need to get a life!!!
The hotel is 4 star and if it had a proper waiter/ess service at the dinner table it would be a 5 star.
We arrived late at night and the Hotel looked stunning all lit up and the reception was very posh.
As we arrived at midnight we expected that we had missed out on a meal but the hotel had left a table with our name on it and a cold buffet for us to help ourselves which we found very considerate.
Then we got to our room which was fabulous very spacious, clean and also air conditioned.
The Hotel was very clean and the staff were all very pleasant.
We had booked our holiday last minute and half board. The food was excellent with plenty of choice for Breakfast and Dinner.
First time we had been half board and it gave us a chance to try things we normally wouldnt. Very Impressed.
There is entertainment pool side during the day which helps meeting new people. There was a good mixture of young and old and not everything was aimed at the kids.
Have to mention the people that we met as we had an excellent time at the drinking karaoke session at Woodys (Thanks Don + Doreen have decided to start a Proclaimers tribute act 500 miles!!).
As for Cala D'or itself we arrived as the resort was starting to close down for the winter and alot of bar and shops were closed.
The beaches are beautiful and the Marina is stunning although not well lit at night if you go down for a walk.
The choice of resteraunts is huge and you would be spoilled for choice should you go out.
All in all we had an amazing holiday the hotel was good the Food was good the drink was good and we would definetly go back!
Only negative the miserable woman working at the Spar who looked at me as if I had horns for a week!!!!
Overpriced, overcrowded and over-rated
Overcrowded swimming pool.
Restaurant like a staff canteen. Too busy and mediocre food.
Poor quality entertainment (Karaoke; Bingo; "Mr. Sa Marina") which is more akin to a 1950's holiday camp.
Great island, great resort, but give this hotel a miss in August.
excellent family friendly hotel
we stayed at the Sa Marina on the last week of October and had a spacious and clean apartment overlooking the swimming pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. food is superb although the restaraunt could be larger as the tables were very close to each other, the childrens entertainment was excellent, a great time was had by all. we would certainly return again.
after delays getting there and back we enjoyed fabulous accommodation and hospitality at sa marina. Ideally located next to all amenities of cala d'or with very helpful staff and spacios well equipped rooms. Would recommend rooms facing pool as ideal and rent towels to save space in luggage. Cocktail/happy hour welcome but maybe a little early at 5 til6 oclock. Thought entertainment poor for 4 star quality but no complaints on meals which were excellent with something for all. Even champagne breakfasts every day now that's what I call 4 star! A well run hotel, spotlessly clean in a very good location. What more could you want? I'm sure you would enjoy it wouldn't they Ken? We certainly did!!!!
Would Go Back - For a Third Time.
This is the first review I have written for Trip Advisor, prompted by the rather unfair review posted recently for the same hotel. My family and I have visited Sa Marina twice now - first in October 05, and again in early September 06. It meets all the expectations you should have of a four star establishment, both in terms of cleanliness and customer service. Having booked with Thomas Cook I am sure you can save by booking directly but frankly it was going to be a lot of hassle, what with flights being scarce (and expensive) during the Summer months. The staff are very attentive and even recognised us from our first visit. The food is excellent (although a little limited for vegetarians). There are a few things that are cause for concern however:-
1. Make sure you organise a POOL FACING room as the view from the rooms at the back of the hotel can be very disappointing.
2. Avoid the rooms directly above the indoor pool as the humidity is unbearable (we had one of these rooms the first time we visited).
3. It looks like they are extending the hotel and this could put quite a bit of strain on the current facilities - suggest you check out progress of the extension (and whether they will be providing any more facilities as a result) before you book.
We rang the hotel prior to arrival to confirm the room location. Do the same and I am sure you will have a fantastic time.
Entertainers were great
We stayed at Sa Marina for 1 week at the end of august, i went with my parents and my little brother. On the whole i found the hotel very clean and spacious.
The staff were very friendly. Their was always something on for all age groups, the entertainers were great they held activities for the kids and adults all day, such as rifle shooting for the adults and water polo for the children. later on through the day the entertainers would come around the poolside area and play little games wid the guests, to give them a chance of winning an ice cream for the kids and a cocktail for the adults. Later on in the evening there would be the kids mini disco once again held by the energetic entertainers, i even joined in from da side with the dance moves. after the kids disco their would b a show held either by the entertainers or an outsider coming in. whilst i was stayin there i would have to say the best show was Sister act, which i found the entertainers Nick and Robin hilerious, good on ya guys.
Me and my family went on half board basis and found the food great there was a different variety of food every night. And i was always going up for seconds.
The hotel also had internet access in da bar, but be prepared 2 pay 1 euro for 15 mins.
Also the hotel was full of Engllsih which made a change to the many hotels i have been to before.
The resort was near all the shops and a less then 5 minute walk to the beach. I would also defiantly recommend u go 2 the square for an enjoyable night.
Fantastic hotel, impecably clean. Would return!
I stayed at this hotel during the half term, with my partner and my 4year old son, and we all had a fantcstic time.
On arrival at the Hotel Sa Marina we were greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist. Although we had arrived too late for dinner we were advised that there was a table waiting with our name on in the restaurant. Here we found a cold buffet selection awaiting us which was a welcomed touch.
Our room was impecably clean and very spacious. Our balcony overlooked the pool which was lit at night, very nice. I would recommend requesting a pool view as the views from other parts of the hotel were not as nice. My partners birthday was celebrated in resort and it was nice to find a bottle of wine awaiting us in our room on arrival.
The outdoor pool and surrounding area/ gardens were well kept and maintained. The indoor pool was heated and the jacuzzi was very relaxing. The hotel also featured a gym and sauna although I did not make use of these facilities.
We had booked on a half board basis and the food in the restaurant was varied and of a good standard. There is champagne for breakfast! Once weekly the hotel offer a gala dinner. During the evening meal waiter service is provided for drinks and the staff were always competent and very friendly. They always made an effort with children and seemed genuinely interested in making your stay as enjoyable as possible.
The entertainment started at 2015 with a mini dicso for the kids. Nick, the entertainer, did a very good job and always managed to get the children going. My son loved the disco and found it hard to say goodbye to Nick on the last day. We even bought the CD. After the disco they put on a show which was family friendly but not all about the kids - the shows were enjoyable to all ages.
All in all this hotel was fantastic. Very clean and well maintained. All of the staff were friendly and went out of their way to do as much as possible for you. I would definatly stay at this hotel again
Very clean and stylish
we stayed at the Sa Marina in August with 2 children aged 10 months and 5 years. On the whole it is a great hotel - spacious clean rooms with more space than many spanish hotels. The staff were very friendly and it was very central to all of Cala d'or's amenities.
It is the first time we have had to travel in school holidays and we were shocked by how busy the pool area was. We don't agree with getting up early to 'bag a bed' but unless you had your towels on the sunbeds by 8.30am and stayed with them until the pool opened at 9am you wouldn't get one all day. The area is very cramped and not all beds have umberellas. However I understand that a new pool is being built as part of the exension, so hopefully this will solve the current problem.
Being half board is a bit of a bore when on a 2 week holiday as the food didn't vary much, but our 5 year old loved it - being able to see all the food instead of choosing from a menu. He tried new things and we could eat quickly, but I notice in next year's brochure they are offering self catering, which I think is a better option.
Our main concern was the hotel run kid's club. As others have already mentioned, the security was very very poor. It only ran for one hour even though we were told 2. It was also very boring. Children were basically just colouring in. We complained to the Thomas Cook rep about it but never even got a reply.
We also didn't like the fact that the kids disco etc was in a downstairs bar, but again we were told that they are building an outside stage area as part of the extension. I think this will be much better so you can sit and have a drink outside in the evening. We visited their sister hotel Esmerelda Park, they had an outside set up and it seemed to work much better. Saying that, our son loved the kid's disco and even brought the CD home, so we still have to endure all those awful euro trash songs!
We visited other hotels in Cala d'or whilst we were there and I think we picked the best one. It is very very clean withg friendly staff who work hard. The children had a great time and we were very central to shops, cafes, marina etc. I think some of the other reviews are a bit harsh.
me and my friend who are 15 stayed here for a week with my parents, we came last year and it was really good but this year it was brilliant, the entertainment was really good both nick and robin made it fun for all, we made loads of freinds and everyone joined in together. there were activites throughout the day and night, including games, shows and the kids disco which i found myself joining in with beacuse it was so much fun!
the food is great there is a wide range of different types of food, and lots of choices of cakes and ice cream for desert!
one thing that was really funny was one night as part of a show nick and robin had to jump into the pool with their clothes on for a dare, and they thought it wud be funny to throw us in aswell, we found this hilarous but i dont think our parents were too impressed (oops) even though it was the last week of the season everyone made the most of it and we will definetley be returning next year for a third time!
i recomend this hotel to anyone of any age who is up for a laugh you will have the time of your life!!!
They are the best
We had a fantastic Holidays, we thank you Carlos the manager and all the staff.
we had a great time and we will definatley be back!!!
