I stayed at this hotel 1981.
As this hotel is on the beach and also well positioned for walking into Magaluf and Palma Nova.
They have altered the swimming pool area and built a bar which leaves less room for sun beds.
I was very impressed with this hotel when I stayed there not sure what it is like now but I can imagine it is still a fine hotel.
The bed rooms were quite large and very well furnished. Indoor pool etc.
security is a nightmare.

we arrived at magaluf playa at 11am on the 26th June. We was told our room wouldnt be ready until 3pm. luckly our mates room was ready so we put our suitcases in there room. when we went back at 3pm they said ohh your room has been ready for the about 3 hrs. we had a 2 bedroom apartment which was ok clean but balcony window had been smashed. window was replaced the next day. location was fantastic in the centre of all the nightlife. the nightlife is buzzing. the first night we stayed there was fine no shouting, banging or slamming doors. well it all changed. there was people banging, shouting and kicking your doors in at 7 in the morning. On thursday morning the security guard let a lad into our room whilst we was all asleep. good job we are all light sleepers and told him to get out. the following day we went down and complained and asked if they asked any security questions before they hand the key over, they replied no and didnt have any explaination as to why the security guard had let the lad into our room. the following day we told reception not to give the key to anyone apart from me. early that morning when we was on our way back to the hotel. we asked a man to go into reception and ask for our key and they gave it him. we asked to speak to a manager and they said he didnt want to speak to us. on our fourth day we had a leek in our kitchen we told reception and they refused to sort it as they said we didnt like men in our room. on our last day both lifts were broken and with us being on the fifth floor we asked security if they would help us with our cases in the morning they said no. its a good job some lads offered to help us. apart from the security we had a great holiday. pool was ok had a laugh with everyone. we went to aqua park which was a laugh. the nightlife is fantastic would definatley go back to magaluf but i would not stay at magaluf playa apartments.
"Faulty Towers" but a lot of fun!

Magaluf Playa is ideal if you are young, skint, a heavy sleeper, have above average fitness (so you can scale the stairs because more often than not the lift is broken or has mysterious odours lurking in it from the previous night) and intend on spending most of your time out and about. Seven other girls and i stayed in magaluf playa and despite our initial reservations about cleanliness (stains on bedsheet, yummy) it wasn't too bad. Sheets and towels were changed every other day. We spent the day at the beach but found the pool to be satisfactory in the evening whenever it wasn't so busy. The female receptionists and the Antonio Banderez lookalike receptionists have zero interpersonal skills but Sidney the receptionist and the guy with the pony tail are helpful and considerate. Expect loud music and football chants in the evening as the louts prepare themselves for a night on the town. It is ideally situated next to the BCM and the bus stop into palma is about 100m away. Aircon always worked and didnt see any cockroaches.
Wasn't as bad as I was expecting

After reading all the comments on here I was seriously expecting a shack to stay in, but I was happily surprised when I arrived at the Magalluf Playa Apartments.
Myself and 8 other girls stayed here for 5 nights as a Hen Party and I loved the whole time I was there. The apartments are ideal for Hen / stag weekends and young groups looking for a cheap holiday.
We arrived at the apartments at 12:30am and was surprised by the location as it is right in the heart of the action. We had no problems checking in, although we were not keen on leaving our passports with the reception staff, but this is procedure (and we got them all back the next day). One lift was out of order so we had to take it in turns to use the one working lift. Although this was small, it had no sick in it!
Our rooms were clean and spacious and the sheets and towels were clean, I instantly forgot all the bad stuff I had read on here. We also left a deposit for the air conditioning remote control and had a lovely cool room, and got the deposit back in full.
The pool was ok, but due to the wind there were plastic cups in the pool but this was only one day out of the five. The food and drink was cheap and the location of the apartments are excellent. There is alot of noise, but that was to be expected, and going on a Hen Party i'm sure we contributed to it!! We had no problems with break in's or rapes!!
If you are going to stay here be open minded, don't expect too much, so you won't be disappointed. If you are going to have fun, enjoy the night life and sun you'll have a great time.
Overall the holiday was better than I expected and for the price I would go back for a Hen weekend.
Lastly BIG HELLO to the boys from Dorset who visited us every morning for breakfast!!!!

I dont know what i was expecting for the price but..... yek! the rooms were nasty, mildu growing up the walls. hotel is right next to bcm so if you want a good nights sleep then bring ear plugs! we had people banging on our door constantly, one lad even urinated outside our door YUCK!! the Air conditioning was very tempermental! our patio door would not lock even though we complained about it four times it still was never fixed! The housekeeping is disgusting, we constantly ran out of toilet paper, had overflowing bins and dirty floors, our towels also needed changing a little more than every 4 days, infact one day the cleaner went away with the towels and we didnt get them back, so had to go to reception which was a big hoo ha!
No i definatedly wouldnt stay there again, i guess its good for the money but i would definately shell out a bit more money for higher standards!

Magaluf

I viisted Majorca on another lads holiday, visiting the resort of Magaluf. Its a typical lads holiday package resort. Great if youre young and wanna get hammered and vomit each night, not good for culture and scenery. Its full of bars and a big beach. However, the rest of the island is meant to be beautiful!

"ONE OF EUROPE'S CRAZIEST NIGHTSPOTS."
One of my favourite places in the world. In Magaluf I think I met more people than on any other holiday. Majorca is the island and Magaluf is the place to be!!
"MAJORCA IN THE BALEARIC ISLANDS."
We arrived at Palma airport at 8 pm , straight through customs, on our coach and an hour later we had arrived at Hotel Dulcinea. Time for a quick shower and then out to see what the bars and clubs had to offer.
"PALMA NOVA"
Palma nova is the neighbouring resort to Magaluf. Our hotel was in between the two. Both resorts have a beautiful beach, but Magaluf has the edge for nightlife!

Hi
a friend of mine is going to Magaluf and is staying in the Hostal Villasol. Has anyone any comments on this place? would be interesting to hear.
Also, anyone any tips on working in Magaluf? Anything you need to do if you plan to work there? how easy to just 'pick up' jobs etc?
Thanks
Sarah

Mallorca is a beautiful island. There are some interesting places to see there. Valldemossa; a beautiful village. Palma De Mallorca. Sa CAlobra and its small and nice beach. La Granja.

Mallorca IS a beautiful island with some wonderful places to visit, but Magaluf isn't one of them. Think beer bellies burgers and bars. Fine if that is what you want, but you need to know that before you get there.
Magaluf and Palma Nova are one and the same now and they offer the same type of holiday.

Magaluf in April
by shellb06
Hi,
My friend and I have booked to go to Palma Nova in April 2006 (Easter weekend)14th to 17th April 2006. I was wondering what Magaluf will be like at this time, will all the major clubs and bars be open? Also how busy is it?
