Paradise Club, Menorca

by TripAdvisor Member What_A_Loser

We, a family of 4, have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Paradise Club in Menorca and we really enjoyed it. When we arrived we were amazed at how new the furniture and equipment was. The apartment was clean and spacious and had a lovely flat screen TV and a gorgeous bathroom. The location was beautiful and about a minute walk from from the harbour and restaurants.
Most of our days were spent by the swimming pools-a large one and a smaller one, both of which were a good size and kept in a good condition. There was also a shallow baby pool. The sunbeds were also new and very comfortable. The pool bar served a nice variety of food, drinks and ice creams. The animacion entertainment team were great. They provided fun games and activities to occupy the kids and they also provided a range of activities for the adults to participate in. The team were very friendly, spoke good english and done very well in their shows during the evening. There was also a small games room and a large entertainment room, equipt with a stage for the evening shows, which were also very good.

I would definately recommend this hotel, mainly to families with children.

Paradise at the Paradise Club

by TripAdvisor Member sparks11

Just returned from 2 weeks at the paradise club and what a fantastic 2 weeks they were. The rooms are more than adequate, the pools were spotless and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A special mention has to be made for the Animacion team, Mariano, Eros, Valentina, Lorena and Tamara, they were fantastic throughout and really helped make the holiday so much more enjoyable. Only one word of caution, the self catering cooking facilities are not much use so eating out is the norm, every evening, with a decent meal for a family of 4 costing about 70 euros.

Animation Team

by TripAdvisor Member CTKP

The Animation Team were great fun, and got involved with all the sports and other activities. They were very entertaining and made it possible for all ages to join in. In the day time there was lots of things to do for example ... water-polo, shooting, football, T- shirt painting, ect ... At night they did a mini disco for the children and then bingo, followed by a performance. Each member of the animation spoke very good english and other languages. Finally we would all like to say if the animation people were not there then are holiday would not be as enjoyable and that they are all great fun and VERY funny !!!!!!!!! We have all been here 3 times and this years animation team were the best. from

a great choice for young families

by TripAdvisor Member ravello08

just come back from club paradise after a one week stay with myself, my partner and our two young children, after reading some the the earlier posted reviews on this hotel I was a little apprehensive as quite a few felt that the hotel was clearly over rated... I have to say that we had a fantastic time. Whilst i would reluctantly agree with the pervious posted reviews that the hotel accomadation isn't propably up to the 4stars as many of the holiday companies advertise it to be i would have to say that the hotels location is 4 star plus especially if you have a young family, everything is a stones throw away from the marina to the beach and to the water park which is a five minute walk away if that..... the eveing entertaiment was really enjoyed by the children especially the mini disco..... the resort itself has a whole mixture of people holidaying their from brits to italians to the spanish ( .. a good sign we thought...) which made the holiday for us, as although we were on a package holiday the resort itself was really charming ..... we would love to go back and no doubt to this hotel .

Complex in excellent location; close proximity to marina, shops, bars and restaurants. Supermarkets provide good range of essentials.
Apartments themselves spacious and clean and seemed to have recently been given a lick of paint and the electrical fittings in the weeks we stayed had been replaced suggesting ongoing upgrading.
Hotel foyer and public areas exceptionally well kept and hotel amenities (on payment) include health spa and range of treatments. On site bar areas and food well staffed and choice of food good if not unsurprising.
Entertainment provided daily and evening shows too.
Evening shows alternated between the on site entertainment team and hired acts all of which were of a standard typical of a package holiday and generally satisfactory.

Hotel entertainment team were excellent spreading themselves across a broad spectrum; by day activities for all ages ranging from t shirt painting for children to poolside sports for all ages including archery, shooting, table tennis and fabulous bouts of water polo usually refereed by the marvelous Mariano.

Mariano in particular but in fairness the whole entertainment team were invaluable in our enjoyment of our entire holiday being a catalyst for engaging guests and through that setting a foundation for friendships that followed and we hope will last.

Regards to the team and fond memories of them and our new found friends.

Best Self catering yet!

by wendysouthafrica

We would like to maybe walk to a nearby village , beach, tourist site aprox 3 hour walk then maybe catch a bus back to Alcudia. Another day carch a bus further away then walk 3-4 hours or to next village and return to Alcudia by bus/train. Please help! Thankyou! Wendy

Wendy,
There are lots of walks you can do in the general area of Aucanada although some of them may involve getting the bus from Alcudia over to Puerto Pollensa.
Before you go it would be a good idea to get hold of some books and maps of the area. One that I recommend is 'Walking in Mallorca' by June Parker, published by Cicerone. Most of this guidebook seems to be available on the web, at least the parts relevant to where you are going; just google it and it should come up. The section you want starts on page 63 and the three walks Platja des Coll Baix, Penya Roja and Talaia d'Alcudia, and Talaia d'Alcudia via ses Fontanelles are all great walks more or less on your doorstep. You may need to hire bikes or get a taxi to the starting points, they are not far away just a bit awkward to get too, you'll understand when you see the maps.
From Puerto Pollensa you can walk along the Boquer Valley and back in an hour or so. You can also set out from Puerto Pollensa and walk to Cala San Vicente or vice versa. Simple maps of these walks are available from the tourist office near the bus terminus on the seafront in Puerto Pollensa.
If you fancy joining an organised walk then you could check the listings for Richard Strutt's company on www.mallorcanwalkingtours.puertopollensa.com where you will find a list of walks for every month and details of prices, grades of walks etc.
There are also some good tracks on the Formentor Peninsula, there is a limited bus service or a boat from Puerto Pollensa marina.
From the old town of Pollensa (a few miles inland from Puerto Pollensa by bus/car/bike) you could walk up the small but steep hill of Puig de Maria to the monastery at the top. The hill is clearly visible opposite the town.
At the Muro end of Puerto Alcudia you could do a (flat) walk around the Albufera nature reserve.
More info about walks and walking guidebooks can be found on www.puertopollensa.com from the menu on the left-hand side
Hope you find something to suit. Enjoy your trip it's a beautiful place to go walking!
Anne Marie
