we just returned from minorca{sur menorca}A very clean hotel, staff spoke ok english. food was good apart from needs more choice at snack time, theres only so many cheese and ham toastes you can eat.kids club was good ,my 7 year old loved it so did the 2 yr old ,the songs still go throw my head now.nice baby pool ,big swimming pool is very cold!.not alot to do in the eveing apart from the crazy disco.we went to aqua center which was good fun for all the family.Go on the catamarn night cruise just to see the sun set and a free bbq and drink.would hirer a car to go to ciutadella on the way there is a free kids park with slides, boats swimming pool and go karts .good fun. A GOOD TIME.

Punta Primer after 11pm?

by SLK about Sebastian Hawaiian Place

Most entertainment in Punta Prima is based in the few small hotels. For the casual visitor it seems like everything is done and dusted by 11pm which allows everyone to get up bright and early.

The one place I found open till late and had live music was a beach bar called Sebastian Place. At the weekends it's courtyard resembled a community centre dance hall as many older Menorcans flocked to the bar to dance the night away to Salvador, a singing organ playing gent.

Very friendly bar, pool table, air hockey for the kids, not at all rowdy and excellent food-better than the more expensive restaurant I tried on the sea front.
I often ended up here supping coctail before going to bed. Casual

Fabulous holiday

by TripAdvisor Member lazydays3

We stayed at the Sur Menorca from July 8th to 19th. The staff are extremely hard working, patient and friendly. The food is excellent with a wide range of choices (including typical Mediterranean fare) each day. The buffet is kept topped up constantly and tables are promptly reset when guests have finished their meal. We stayed in an appartment which had two bedrooms, two shower-rooms ( one with bath ), lounge with kitchenette and balcony with lovely sea-view. All facilities are kept very clean.
The pools are just the right temperature for the very hot July temperatures and there was always plenty of space for everyone in the pool. The Soccorista ( lifeguard/first aider) was on duty for most of the day, enjoying a chat with guests as well as keeping an eye on things. Special mention also to the Crazy Company entertainers who organized a broad range of entertainment and activities for all tastes.
The hotel operates a minibus to Punta Prima beach on a continuous basis, journey time being about 5 minutes, well worth using.
Menorca is a beautiful island so do try to get out and about. Driving is stress-free and there are also lots of excursions.
In summary, a superb holiday was had by all, we'll be back.

Great holiday.

We stayed in the Hotel Club Sur Menorca at the start of september for 1 week and while we was there the hotel was exceptionaly clean. The rooms in the hotel were spotless and only had a shower in the bathroom, but if you stayed in the apartments you had a bath in your room. The hotel had 2 main pools and 1 at the back where most people with very young children sat as it was more quieter. The hotel is a hotel for people with children or disable and ealderly people. We are a very young couple and like to have lots to do, so this hotel wasnt really suitable due to the location as it was only this hotel along with 1 other pub. There is a daily bus which runs into Punta Prima every 5-10mins and a main bus that runs to all the different places including Mahon the city. The food was excellent and always on the go. The enterainment was great only on a sat they dont have much on due to the entertainers having a day off. All in all me and my partner would go back to the hotel only when we have a child of our own.

Excellent Family Holiday - Best Yet!

Having read one of the reviews titled WAT A JOKE prior to going to Sur Menorca we went with an open mind. The hotel is on the very edge of the Punta Prima resort, quiet enough not to be driven mad with noise but close enough to local amenities. The rooms are small but more than adequate and are cleaned daily without exception. The food varies but appears to cater for most tastes. There was always a good selection with nothing ever running out. The restaurant opening times are generous so there are no queues for food. Additionally, snacks are served late morning and late afternoon so there isn't a chance of starving!! The staff are very ameniable and most speak English. The bar is open between 10am and 11pm and all drinks are available between these hours with the exception of 5 - 6 pm when tea and coffee is served. Branded drinks are available but you will be charged for these. The local drinks are just as nice. Although the queue builds up at the bar the staff manage to serve very quickly so you are never waiting long. You can order as many drinks as you like in one go so this saves getting up and down all of the time. There is a small bar about 500 yards from the hotel which is generally where people went if they wanted a drink when the bar shut at 11. The pool is a nice size and does have a life guard on duty. Additionally there is a second pool set away from the main hotel for the younger kids. There is a good entertainments programme and a range of activities throughout the day and the winners receive certificates. The kids seemed to enjoy the mini disco which again was on 6 nights per week. The hotel also has a small shop which is actually very reasonable. Punta Prima town centre is approximately 10 minutes walk or the hotel lays on a free bus until 6pm every day. It is a nice walk with clearly marked pavements. There is also a train which goes to and from the town and costs 2 euros each way. mahon is 20 mins away and alot cheaper to go to if you arrange the trip yourself. It is 1.20 euros each way.
You will need to take hairdryer/iron. There are no fridges in the room and the rooms are air conditioned.
We have been all over the world as a family. This hotel is an ideal family holiday and we met some fantastic people. This rates as one of the best all round holidays. Be mindful that the hotel is 3 star and not 5. This hotel is no joke, a fun time was had by all. Highly recommended.

Good Place to Relax

by TripAdvisor Member oldhamlion

The Hotel is in a very quiet area about 1.8km from the nearest clean sands beach at Punta Prima.
The Hotel is spotlessly clean and the Staff from the Management down to the cleaners are extremely helpful and polite.
The food is plentiful and over the week there are many varieties and the food quality is excellent. My only qualm is that they will insist on putting the hot tray containing the children's selection up against where the soup is and making it difficult to get round to the soup.
The staff are always very quick to change the tablecloths as soon as the table becomes vacant, even if the tablecloth is quite adequate for the next diners.

The entertainers are very busy during the day organising games etc for the holidaymakers, but in the evening, the entertainment is absolutely terrible. The "Crazy Quiz and Crazy Games" are an embarressment.
There is a free bus to Punta Prima and back to the Hotel which runs every few minutes throughout the day, and the bus to Mahon runs every hour and costs only 1.2 Euro's each way.

Fabulous Break

by TripAdvisor Member ChunkyChas

We decided on a short haul destination, all-inclusive last minute deal. We definately made the right choice here. Airtours were very efficient and extremely thorough and we were at our destination in no time at all.
The hotel was beautiful and very clean with attention to detail. The decor was geared up to be very relaxing on the eye and very clean. The staff too, were very efficient, helpful and friendly. The room was light, clean, airy and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the surrounding area and coastline.
Best of all was the standard of food. The quality was superb, well cooked, many choices and plentiful. 10 out of 10. The bar was manned tirelessly and was excellent also.
Evening entertainment was a bit sparce but good for the toddlers and again the entertainers worked their socks off (especially the tall Dutch fella) with the facilities they had.
The beach was small but a good standard and free transport was laid on to take us there and back at any time during the day.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel as a relaxing break for a week maybe two (if you hired a car) you won't be disappointed or hungry!
