Deya and surrounding area

by SWEETPOPPI

I will be visiting Deya for one week, does anyone have any suggestions for cool things to do in the area. I will have a car so travel is no problem. I am looking for great restaurants, beaches etc. etc.

Thank You

Hi,
one of the best restaurants I ever visited in Majorca is "C'an Quet" associated with the hotel "Es Moli",about 1 km before you reach Deija from Valdemossa,on the hillside at the right side of the street (Ctra. Valldemossa- Deia, s/n, 07179, tel +34 971 639 196.
"Fresh Mediterranean cuisine, using products from the land. Dishes can be adapted for special dietary requirements.Themed Tasting Menus are available and they are changed regularly: 6 courses - €50 per person (excl wine & tax)"
C'an Quet is not cheap, but a unique experience in high-class cuisine, offering value for money in a mediterranean garden with views to the village and the mediterranean sea!
Have alook at their site at

Good Luck !

If you want 30 mins peace and quiet while you are in Palma, go to the Islamic Gardens. Beautiful small haven of peace and quiet for a chill out.

Travel Tips for Palma de Mallorca

When I went to Palma I had...

by steah

When I went to Palma I had just taken my General Certifate of Education(the end of High School)so everything was wonderful to me! Anyway I think that the best in Palma is the great cathedral that looks at the see in front of it.
I also remember all those tiny lanes... ...that wonderful paella I had my last day in Palma!

Astonishing view of the city...U cannot miss it!

by russian_yaz

Around 4 km to the north of the city begins the Sierra Tramuntana. But in this particular place the name it has is serra Naburguesa, The highest point is Naburguesa hill located in the small neighborhood of Genova.
In the top of this hill there is a statue to Naburguesa a local religiuos saint.

U can go using 2 different ways. I U go from the center of Palma, U should go to the Via Cintura and then when U see the sign to Genova, then turn right. If U are not in the center of the city but near the Via Cintura in the outskirts. Then just follow the Via Cintura at it will take U straight to Genova neighborhood.

One advice. If U are on bike as I have done, be prepared for a huge climbing. There are around 3km unitl the top wiith and average of 15% degrees of inclination or maybe more.

From this place U'll enjoy one of the best viewa of the city. U can even see the Bellver Castle in the distance.

Good Mexican food

by Sara78 about La YAYA

This nice mexican restaurant has nice atmosphere and excellent food. Also very nice strawberry margaritas ;) The combination plate in the starters is a good choice, because it has a little bit of everything in it. And the filled jalapenos are good.

La Seu

by MikeAtSea

La Seu is the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Palma de Mallorca. The cathedral was built on the site of an existing Arab mosque. The Cathedral is 121 metres long, 55 metres wide and 44 meters of nave height. The Cathedral, designed in spanish levantino Gothic or southern French Gothic style, was founded by King James I of Aragon in 1229 but finished only in 1601.
Fifty years after a restoration of the Cathedral had started, Antoni Gaudí was invited in 1901 to take over the project. While some of his ideas were adopted - moving the choir stalls from the middle nave to be closer to the altar, as well as a large canopy - Gaudí abandoned his work in 1914 after an argument with the contractor.

if you are from Europe - you can get in free every wednesday with your passport or i.d. pass

every other day its 4.50 euros.
