Canarios park...Excellent

by A TripAdvisor Member

excellent hotel, was a bit worried after reading some other reviews, but i found the hotel to be very clean with very friendly and helpfull staff, lovely secluded and quiet beach just a short walk away, also another beach in the town this time just a short train ride away (which was free by the way). The food was very good and very varied, and if you plan on going out for the day you can get picnic boxes and fill them up at breakfast...
Wouldnt hesitate in going back again next year,or sooner if I can!!!

Fantastic, really didnt want to come home!!!

Yes I to read these reviews and was worried sick by the time I and my family consisting of a husband(who i hardly saw as he had a fab time playing all the sports!)and three sons ages 7,5,and 1. arrived. HOWEVER all that changed.I have no doubt we had the best holiday yet.Our room was larger than we expected, with a superb balcony, the hotel was clean, safe, highly entertaining! food was plentiful(husband is a chef and not once did he complain)staff were polite and patient!(concidering what they cope with) need i go on??? Yes i agree there were badly behaved children running riot HOWEVER please note so do their parents!! and believe me you get that everywhere you go you either let it ruin your holiday or just ignore it. But all that is very insignificant when your enjoying yourself so much as we did not just because of the Scottish family who were well bahaved!! but the excellent entertainment each night of the childrens mini disco which will be forever in mine and my famillies memories. May they be chuff a chuff a chuff a chuffer chuff chuff. and singing little bill till we can go again !! Thankyou to the Canarios park staff, entertaiment gang and A,S,C,Rand H XXXXXXXXXX

Just came back and had a fantastic time, whoever says this hotel was of a low standard are mad. Went with me (18) my mate (18) his brother and mate (both 17) and my mates parents. The rooms were of a very good size, entertainment was great, plenty of sports available. The positioning od the hotel isn't the best but it's only a 10 minute walk to the town centre and the beach which a free train/bus goes to (must be got from the hotel and beach else costs 1 euro per person from town centre (the beach is beautiful, not the little one, the main one the train goes to)), the only down-grade of this hotel was the food, they really lacked in giving us any types of English food, so we ate out a few times. The staff are friendly and there is entertainment for all ages, oh and the bar staff are extremely generous when you ask for spirits, which was a good thing! There are 3 pools, the one round the back of the hotel is in a better position but the best pool was in the sports complex. The entertainers really made the holiday; especially Vani and Mouse, they even let us chuck them in the pool, oh and if a lady in red comes round taking pictures of everyone, don't get scared she makes keyrings for you from the pictures! Buy the entertainment CD aswell, its really good.

Cala Ratadja to Puerto Pollansa

by maymacdonaldraeburn

We are coming to the Hotel - Bellaplaya in Cala Ratadja from 18-25 May 2011 as part of a group from my Hiking Club in Scotland.
We have been invited to a 60th birthday at the Port - Puerto Pollansa.
Are there busses available to take as from Cala Ratadja to PP?

Directly, no - not that I know of. This site: http://www.caib.es/sacmicrofront/contenido.do?idsite=330&cont=8801 shows the busses in the NE of the island. Looks like the L445 goes through Arta and on to PP.

Mostly the buses on Mallorca go to Palma and radiate out from there. Manacor and Inca seemed reasonably well connected. Even though I always have a hire car I have used buses on Mallorca a bit and what buses there are have seemed to be comfortable, well used and punctual.

Cala Ratjada I take it? It's a fair old distance really.

That's a difficult one, and sort of begs the question of how you were going to get back, late at night, after a couple of sherries? If you were going to stay over anyway is it possible to hire a car for a couple of days, then drive back in the morning? If not how about getting a local taxi quote/pre-arranged fee? Your hotel could advise on that. Although it would cost you an arm and a leg in the UK, taxis are cheaper there, and it may be acceptable.

Hi May, When you say 'we have been invited' do you mean the entire Hiking Club Group or just yourself and one other? If it's the group then perhaps you should look at mini-bus/coach hire. If it's just a couple of you then a taxi might be best as suggested above. I have a phone number for a private taxi driver who lives in the Alcudia area (ie on the route between Cala Ratjada and Puerto Pollensa), if you need it let me know and I'll email it to you. Anne Marie
