Not for Couples - Will not be going back

We went in September and are an adult couple. I too read all the reviews prior to travelling and was definately quite worried. The good points: the hotel, pools and rooms are kept clean at all times and the food was good and had a good variety with themed nights. We had a premier room and had plenty of space and a queen size bed and flat screen TV. If you wanted the safe, TV or a kettle you had to pay. This is not a hotel for peace, quiet, relaxation and a romantic break - if you are a family then this is probably a good place to come - but not for couples. The lifts are alwasy busy and mainly too small, we were lucky and were only on the 4th floor so were able to walk if we did not want to wait - it did not help with kids playing in them - where were their parents!!! We booked on line for the first time and all went smoothly with the booking and the private transfers. The 3 hotels were full upon our arrival and the amount of people and CHILDREN was unbelievable, you could not find a quite spot anywhere. We had no problem getting sunbeds, although if you did want one around the pools you would have to get up with the rest of the sad people early to reserve one - i personally think this is wrong and unfare especially as the hotel has signs up asking people not to put chairs on their sunbeds to reserve them. Speaking of sunbeds, these are probably the most uncomfortable ever as they have no cushions and you just lay on the slatted plastic and the backs are not adjustable. The restaurant is very noisy and chaotic and reminds me of a cross between a school canteen and motorway services - do not expect a quiet romantic dinner. We booked several trips through the club house and these were very good and the staff there were very helpful. The evening entertainment was very good, although you would have to be there early (by 7pm) if you wanted a table, as later on all that was left was the arena style seats. The staff worked really hard with the day and night entertainment. The free buses to the beach and port were good, but again you had to queue for ages. The holiday ended up being run by your watch in order to be places to avoid the rush hours - early to the restaurants etc. There were large queues at the entertainment arena for drinks all night. The last 3 days we had terrible storms and the complex was not at all geared up for the bad weather. The entertainment was bought in side into areas completely too small for the vast numbers of people and this made the area unbearably noisy, cramped and uncomfortable, made worse by people letting the children run around and scream, knocking tables etc. The communication from the staff regarding the change in locations and entertainment was bad and they appeared not to know what was going on. When it rains the complex has no where for you to go inside other than the lobby/reception rooms of each hotel. If you do not want to join in with the kids clubs or adult entainment int ehse areas or want some where quiet to read etc there is absolutely no where to go! On our last day they decided to close one of the hotels as it was nearing the end of season and this made the other public places even more crowded and unbearable, they even closed the outside bars and Burger Bar, even more limiting the places to go and the number of people queueing. We had terrible rows with the reception staff to try and keep our room for the day on our departure, they blatenly lied to our faces - so it was a bad end to our holiday. I appreciate the staff and hotel cannot control the weather, but they should have provisions in place for when it rains. I do have to agree with many of the other reviews on the calibre of people at the hotel. It was at least 95% British and of this the majority of guests were northern or Scottish. I do not wish to band all northern or Scottish people into one - but upon my experience here they were nearly all very loud and rude, no manners, they allowed their children to run riot and scream all day long - the men were easily identifiable by their tattoos of their families names (can they not remember them or there birthdays!!) or bulldogs etc - it was like a Chav Council Estate, i know i may sound like a snob, but it was mainly the guests that spolit this complex. Basically i will never ever go there again and would not recomend it to any adults or couples. It is a very bad advert for all inclusive, as on our last few days we could not get food when we wanted it as they closed so many areas down.

i went to club mac at the end of may/start of july for 2 weeks, i went with my mum, my mums bf, my sis (15) and my brother (5), im 17. we booked the holiday 2 weeks before we were meant t o go and after reading the reviews was a bit scared about wat we had let ourselves in for. we arrived at midnight, n after been checked quite fast we went up 2 our we were given rooms next to each other which was good, the rooms are more than big enough and had enough wardrobe and drawer space for our clothes (n as you can imagine with 2 teenage girls sharing a room there was alot of clothes n shoes), the beds were lovely and comfy, the balcony was a good size, the bathroom was quite big, the whole room was very clean. we then went downstairs to get something 2 eat and sandwiches and hot and cold drinks were avaliable. the next mornnig we went down to breakfast, n there was quite a good selection eggs, bacon, toast, sausages, cereal, youghurt, the usual stuff. after breakfast food was put out at the snack bar, again breakfast stuff in general. getting a sunbed was no problem, n there are 6 different pools all of which have shallow ends for younger children, and there is always a lifeguard at each pool. u werent allowed into the restraunt with bikinis or shorts on. at lunch again there was a good selection of meats, veg, soups, desserts, pasta, some spanish food was avaliable, the chefs would cook the meat in front of you, after lunch the snakc would be open, which had burgers, hotdogs, chips and sandwiches. the hotel was always kept clean. at tea, again there would be a wide range of food, meats, pasta, soup, veg, chinese food and spanish food, im quite a fussy eater and alsways found something i liked. the entertainment staff were brilliant always getting people up on the stage involved, we won 2 bottles of champagne whilst we were there. the kids club is also great, my little brother loved it and made a new friend, me and my sister also made alot of new friends whilst there, some of which we keep in contact with, there was alaways activities such as darts, archery, rifel shooting, pistol shooting, football, yoga, and each afetrnoon in the main pool the entertainment team would do dances in the pool. the hotel is in a good location it has a few shops and bars across the road, one of then been a karoke bar which makes wel nice pizzas, the main town of alcudia is about a twenty minute walk down the road, there is also a courtesy bus that goes to the beach every half n hour. there is also a waterpark about 5 minutes behind the hotel which is a great day out, we had such a fun time there, and they will stamp your hand so you can go back to the hotel for lunch and then go back into the park. all the staff in the hotel are friendly and willing to help with anything, the bar staff work so hard, there is never normally a que at the bar, but if there is it goes down in about 5 mins. our rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels and clean bed linen put on, all rooms have air con that u control. we were on the third floor and we had friends on other floors, n we all said that you could never hear noise from downstairs or other rooms. the hotel has 6 lifts all of which usually work, if they happen to be broken the y will be fixed as oon as possible, the hotel has interenet access, its a euro for ten mins. various stalls come to the hotel on a night, jewerly, sweet, like a glow stick one, one that engraves things such as lighters and door signs for you, and a man that draws pics of you which cost 15 euros for black or 20 euros for colour they are great me, my sis and my bro had them done. there is a crazy golf course that keeps you entertained for hours, there is like a mini fair, which has trampolines, a bucking broncho, i fell off that and lots of rides for younger children, there are various activities going on throughout the day, there is also a hairdressers on site that does coloured hair exstensions and hair braiding. one of the must sees is alcudia market on a sunday, it is in the old town, and you can take a walk around the old castle, and go inside the bull fighting ring, luckly there werent any bulls there wheni was stood inside it. i would definatley recomend this hotel to anyone and would love to go back one day, it had to be the best holiday ive ever had, nice weather, nice people and great atmosphere, clean rooms and hotel what more could you want, i didnt want to leave this hotel, it is great for all ages of the family

Butlins abroad

If you are happy with rowdy, binge drinking, Brits smoking 40 fags a day, not giving two hoots about their children or the fact that every other word they use is (--), then this is the place for you.

All inclusive is not as it used to be unfortunately, however the food was not as bad as the previous reviews say (although it is like being in a canteen). The drinks are all non-branded and out of plastic cups so should you wish to enjoy a glass of wine with your meal, then you will be disappointed. We chose to buy our own from the supermarket as the indigestion was killing me..

On this particular holiday I chose badly as we travelled with a two and three year old, who to be honest would have been happy sat in the back garden for a week.

If you have pre-teen children and can cope with the above then this would be ideal for you as they accommodate for the whole family.

cant wait to go back
