La Almudaina (Almudaina Palace)
This was the Muslim palace of the Banu Ganiya standing at the edge of the port. The building was converted into a palace at the beginning of the 14th century on the orders of king Jaime II.

A good accomodation in Palma
Almudaina Hotel is a good option if you have planned to stay in tha capital, Palma. It is a great hotel, not really expensive and located in the right centre of Palma.

Cathedral gates
The old city of Palma, with its narrow and stony streets, is a mix of palaces (Almudaina), gifts shops and museums. The cathedral is the symbol of the city, but the city is more than this particular monument.
Palacio Real de la Almudaina (1/3)
This 10th-century Muslin fortress was rebuilt in a gothic style after the catalan conquest in the 14th centuy.
Now, it is the King's official venue for ceremonies and receptions.
Tapestries in La Almudaina Palace
The walls of the La Almudaina Palace in Palma de Mallorca are covered with some good Flemish tapestries from the 16th and the 7th century representing the Spanish history.

Must see in Palma?
I am off to Palma in Aug for 4 nights and want to make the most of it. I have heard there are must sees and do's whilst I am there. I am looking go to a traditional tapas restaurant/bar whilst there....any suggestions? Also is there a nice beach in Palma?

Hi...nice beach? Well, there are Magaluf and Arenal nearby but this two places are two crowded and full with tourists. I advice U to rent a car and go a little bit further, for example, Cala Figuera, Sant Elm, Cala Ratjada and Sant Jordi.
In the city don´t miss: the main Cathedral, Almudaina palace, Arab Baths, paseo Maritimo, walk trough the streets and keep your eyes open, there are many interesting things to see. Bars? Visit my nightlife tips, I recomend Lorien, more than 100 different beers and tapas to choose from.
..outside the city? Visit Soller, Deia, Valldemossa, Andratx, Sa Calobra, Alcudia, Pollenca, Cap de Formentor...and there are more places but U´ve only 4 days so... ;)
