Hotel Gran Fiesta, Palma de Mallorca, Spain - Reviews and Hotel Information

This hotel is totally different from what I like - it is a rather huge building with a lot of rooms spreaded over 8 floors. It is a 4star hotel, located on Platja de Palma, therefore right in the german speaking centre of the island. The good thing is that it is at the sea and if you want to explore Palma, you just need to hop on the bus (EUR 1,50) passing by or take a taxi (EUR 11 approximately, this takes about 15 minutes and is the much more comfortable way of transport :)). The common areas are quite ok - a nice lobby, a restaurant, a jacuzzi, a medium sized pool. They obviously have started renovating the hotel - so the rooms on top floor are already freshly painted and have new furniture, some with terraces facing the sea. My room unfortunately was 80ies style and had a carpeted floor. It was quite small also for 2 persons. The bathroom was old and small, and it`s door didn`t close properly unless you locked it. Strangely there were no bathing accessoires (apart from the shower cap and the sewing kit) - that is unusual for a 4 star hotel! We also had dinner there, which was not really satisfying. It was buffet style, and somehow it didn`t taste as if it was that freshly prepared. Breakfast was nothing special as well. They have some kind of entertainment programmes in the hotel bar in the evenings, like flamenco shows (not that authentical) or tango nights :). The barkeeper Toni was a funny and friendly guy and one of the highlights of my stay :).
