Looks like the teperature will be good - low twenties, but I'm afraid the weather could be mixed - clouds, sun and maybe some rain!

Better check the weather a couple of days before you depart, long term forecasts do not make much sense as weather change too fast.

On a 'normal' year you would most probably have warm and nice weather. But in normal years it does not snow in March and it does not rains more in a few months than in the past 10 years... Best of luck!

Travel Tips for Palma de Mallorca

Spanish hacienda

by vesna04

It was the organized tour to tipical spanish hacienda for diner.(I am not sure my spelling is correct). We were taken by bus. It was a half an hour drive from El Arenal. The bus was full. Different people from different countries. The company was pretty quite. The story was completely different on our way back. You can imagine- the influence of some good wine:)Everybody was talking, some were singing...
The Hacienda was beautiful. White building with lovely garden, it could be seen better if it was during the day time but you can get impression since it was well lighten up.
The diner was great. I don't remeber exactly what we ate but it is not important. There was enough wine and the live music was playing. Red homemade wine, so sweet and sooooo strong. Now you understand why everybody was happy on the way back...

Capdepera Golf

The course was definately the nicer of the two we played. The course was difficult but fair, and it had some great scenery. The 15th hole (pictured) was the best of the two rounds on vacation. The price was fair and the clubhouse was relaxing afterwards.

I was staying in Alcudia on the other side of the island, and it seemed easy enough to get a bus. If I remember correctly, it took about an hour.....but this was a couple of years ago, so I could be totally wrong. If you go into the Tourist Information wherever you're staying, there'll probably be bus timetables, etc
Walking is the best way to discover Palma, as you get to see so much of the place. Even if you get lost (!) it usually makes for an interesting detour.

northern coastline

by miromi

the northern coastline has a winding highway with towering cliffs that fall straight into the sea. claudia schiffer has an exlusive mansion somewhere up here, and there's nothing nicer than driving the winding roads past incredible steeped vineyards and old stone villages. it's like another world! when we were there there was lots of mist and rain which was rather romantic...

Sa Llotja

by starship

Sa Llotja or La Lonja (Catalan/Spanish) is another beautiful building in the "Catalan Civil Gothic" style of architecture which was built between 1426 - 1448. I think the striking architecture belied its original purpose which was as a headquarters for the School or College for Merchants, rather than a Moorish castle or palace which came to my mind. The College of Merchants required such a space for their activities and tasks. Some information suggests that the building was an Exchange fish market at some point.

The Mallorcan sculptor, Guillem Sagrera, was the architect who was given the task of imagining and constructing Sa Llotja which resulted in one of the most well-known buildings in Palma. The many corner octagonal towers and windows with tracery are two of its beautiful features. There is said to be a sculpture by Claus Sluter's named the Merchant's Guardian Angel in the main facade. I did not get close enough to see this detail.

Today the building is used only for exhibitions. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays on a limited basis. Sa Llotja is also the name given to this particular area of town, and is noted for its nightlife of cafes, restaurants and bars.
