First of all a warning: This hotel is NOT recommended for families or people who want a nice relaxing holiday! This is a "Lively Resort", which pretty much means there will be noise 24 hours a day! Mainly between 7pm-12am and 3am-6am!
Anyway what can i say about this hotel...went with a total of 8 lads. Had 2 rooms booked, which cost us pretty much a tenner a night each for the rooms. So cant really complain at the service recieved for that much. All we needed was somewhere to sleep and a cheap place to drink with a pool view.
The Rooms: The Rooms included the basics. (Toilet rolls, towels, bed sheets, cutlery, glasses, ashtrays). All towels were changed and replaced twice a week. (If for some reason the cleaners miss your room you can just call reception with the phones provided in the rooms and they'll send one up the next day, not too sure why other people didnt use the phones but the staff were friendly enough and sorted this out for us.)
The rooms are big enough for 4 people to share, (two in the bedroom and two in the lounge), and the balcony was big enough 8 of us to sit and drink on!
Safes are also provided (at a cost) to keep your passports and other stuff in when you dont need it. It is worth getting one. Do not let reception take them off you as all they do is put an elastic band round them and then leave them in full display behind the desk.
The Pool: The pool is massive and tends to be busy from noon until 5pm but you'll usually manage to find a lounger somewhere. There is a bar where you can buy slush puppies and other ice cold drinks from. Also Oscar the Lifeguard is on duty from 10pm until 7pm. His banter is quality! Make sure you say Hi to him!
Food: Didnt sample any of the hotel's food so cant comment on that but from what i've heard the food was ok.
Location: Hotel Martinique is a 5 minute walk to the beach, a 1 minute walk to the nearest pubs, and about a 7-10 minute walk to the strip and most clubs (BCM, Tokyo Joe's, Bananas, Legends, and the legendry Robin Hood's (a 24 hour bar, say hey to Maria, she's a legend!)). For food there are restaurant nearby or a choice of 2 supermarket right next to the hotel.
Security: There is a grumpy security guard on duty from 10pm until 5am. WARNING! Do not under any circumstance *** this guy off by being a typical english lout! He WILL call the local police at the first sign of trouble. (The Scouse boys who stayed on the same floor as us found out the hard way. They were ejected from the hotel on their first night by police for starting a fight! We later heard from the rep that some of them were beaten up by the police, some jailed, and the rest had to fly home as a result).
End note: If you're off to magaluf! You should really Know what to expect! Dirty loose women on hen parties, ugly Geordie boys trying to pull but cant, funny yet extreamly loud welsh folk, Scottish boys & girls singing in the early hours of the morning, etc, etc. This hotel is just full of that! I enjoyed my stay here and just hope you dont get stuck in a room next to a bunch of rowdy english guys!
This hotel is wild!!!

I stayed in this hotel from june 26th until july 3rd with 2 friends
I would not recommended this hotel for families or people who want a nice relaxing holiday as the hotel is very lively all day and night with mainly big groups of loud lads!!!
Hotel - very very noisy hotel, good for big groups of people though who like to make alot of noise, the hotel doesn't seem that strict apart from the 1 security guard who patrols at night and shines a torch up into your balcony if there is any noise made! beware of this guy, he nearly knocked our door down to shout at us in spanish to turn the music down, scary!!!
The pool is huge and has sun all day and there is 2 pc's for internet access, the food is SHOCKING, we went half board and ate twice here, there is very little choice and not worth paying the extra for HB
ROOMS - good size, air conditioning is great and the balcony is huge, shower isn't too good sometimes went hot to cold, supplied with a fridge which is handy and you can pay for a safety deposit box which is worthwhile, there a full length mirror too which is good for the girls
LOCATION- Good location of hotel, its about a 5min walk away from the start of the strip and about a 3min walk to the beach! Theres a supermarket right outside hotel and a few bars just down from it!
Pirates(which is well worth going to) is just 2 mins away from the hotel and the water park and karting is near by to, everything is within walking distance
STRIP - its a bit crazy up the strip, constantly being pulled into bars off PR's but they do good deals on drinks, like buy 1 get one free etc... To go up the strip we tend to walk along the beach and then cut up into the middle of the strip so we cud miss getin annoyed by all the PR's
FOOD - your spoiled for choice here, you have McDonalds, BK, pizzahut(which tastes amazin), KFC, chinese restaurants and
loads of other places, it caters for all!
BEACH - stunin beach, very clean and normally quite packed
PUBS - Alex's bars are decent, do good deals if PR pulls you in, we got buy 1 drink for 5euros get a free shot and we also got a free jug of sex on the beach between the 3 of us, Bora Bora is good, Mulligans indie bar was brill and BCM of course! there was plenty more that i never tried though as there is so many
OVERALL - Magaluf is a great place to go esp for big groups of friends on hen nights, stags or just for a fun, lively holiday! I'm even thinking of going back in september!!!
Fab Party Hotel!
by TripAdvisor Member Steffi-Jones
I stayed at these apartments for 4 nights and had a brilliant time. Its very clean and basic but has everything you need for a self catering holiday. Its only minutes away from the beach which is where I spent my days as the pool can get over crowded with rowdy lads! Its also about 10 minues walk to BCM Square and the strip. They also have a playground outside the hotel which is fun!! Fab place, you gotta go there!
PARTY CENTRAL - not for those who want sleep!
by TripAdvisor Member annacurran_uk
Went to Martique for girls holiday with 2 others (aged 19-20). First impressions were great - entrance was well lit and nicely decorated with fones and internet points (beware you CANNOT get near them for the bebo-addicts lol). The apartment itself was great, excellent air con n decent decor throughout. The balcony was amazin - we had our couch n a table out there and still had a huge space to dance about. Beware of the security guard - if he spots its you that has the music blasting expect ur door to get violently kicked until u answer then some abuse in spanish along with a few w@nker signs! (lol!).
If you are a party guy/gal then this is the place for you. There is no sleeping between 7pm and 7am and the corridors are always buzzin with drunken girls screaming or guys playin football against the doors. Beware of using the back path beside the car park to get to the bars - you will get pelted with waterballoons!!
On the first night there was a full scale riot outside our door that resulted in 40 people being escorted out the hotel. There was blood all over the corridors n down the street - not the nicest of welcomings! Didnt go near pool coz so many lads were liftin up lassies skirts or stealin their bikini tops.
Pirates is a stones throw away and the two waterparks are five mins walk behind it - they are well worth going to! There are a good few bars and clubs near the hotel and two straight roads that lead you to either BCM or the strip itself so everythin is well within reach. Go to Bora Bora n have a pitcher of the viagra cocktail - it's cheap at 12 euros for a drink that will BLOW ur head off!
Would recommend this place to young clubbers who will stay out til 6am - do not take children near it!! Oh and STAY AWAY FROM THE "BUFFET" u get a choice of four things n its usually dodgy fish in sum green goo or suspicious lookin pasta with god knows what in it. SELF CATERING next time! (Go to pizza hut near the beach - you cant see the cheese for the toppings, you'll never eat a british one again lol).
Great for student holidays

We were a group of girls and really liked this hotel. Noisy but wear earplugs if you want some sleep and you'll be fine! Close to everything and really good value for money! Recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a simple base to stay while enjoying all that Magaluf has to offer!
here we.... here we.... here we ****** go...
by TripAdvisor Member scottish_mikey_69
Group of 4 scottish lads stayed in the martinique mid august.. we'd booked through escapades and we werent sure what to expect..
Apart from the total nightmare of the transfer the holiday was spot on, and the hotel was basic but sufficent for what we paid!
Room was clean enought (when we checked in, when we checked out was a different matter) and was cleaned 2-3 times a week buy a very long suffering cleaner!
Apartment was a good size for the group, two lads in the room, and two on the couches.. kitchen was a mere alcohol store!
Balcony was a great size for a mass of bodies, and we got a right squad of people in on the last night, around a good 15-20 bodies before the rep marched us down the beach and took us on another crawl!
If you want to sleep at night... this isnt the hotel for you.. if your with a family, or sober... then you'll find the noise similar to bahgdad on a bad night!
The security guard... DO NOT *** HIM OFF...
if you play your music too loud, and he asks you to turn it down... DO SO... he wont ask again and the next time your asked will be by the local police! and they do not *** about!!!!
Other than that.. its a decent enough hotel.. you pay for what you get but its close to everything!!
go and enjoy your holiday!!
Hell On Earth!!

This place is a complete hell hole ! The rooms are dirty, the staff are useless. It's basically a mad house for yobs who have nothing better to do than slam doors, run up and down the corridors, shout, swear and threaten each other. We complained at 5.30 in the morning to the 2 useless secrity guards who did nothing. We were booked in for 7 night but insisted on being moved after just 1 - we couldn't take it. We were move to the Hotel Royal Beach (also owned by HM). Royal Beach was perfect - clean rooms, helpful staff, the position was right on the beach and there were NO YOBS! We checked the price difference online and were amazed to find that the Royal Beach is actually cheaper and they accomodate groups of the same sex (hens & stags).
Stay clear of Martinique - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!!!!!!!!!!
The ideal location for a week on the bevvys!!
by TripAdvisor Member oxfordgirlOxford
Dont come to this hotel if you have children and want a nice quiet holiday!
Absolutely brilliant for a week on the steam tho, clean enough and everyones there for the same reason!
Myself and 3 other girls went for 6 days in September and loved it, we didnt go with any expectations so were very pleasantly suprised, the maid was fairly useless and we did find a used condom in a pot in the kitchen but wernt really expecting much for the ridiculously cheap price that we paid...
People on the desk were helpfull didnt get to annoyed when they had to come up to the 5th floor to open the door for the 2nd time that evening because we were to drunk to do so, and also came to save us from a cockroach that flew onto the balcony.
About a 10minute walk to the strip with the main clubs and bars on it and 2 minutes away from the shops.. if your looking for a good time its definately a good place to stay!!
The Oxford girls loved it!! :)
Hotel was fine, except everyone got things stolen!
by TripAdvisor Member rkerslake
Four students looking to get drunk for a few days, booked this place and got there fine. Actual hotel was fine, nothing special but for that price we expected that - all we wanted was a clean place and it seemed clean enoughf or us so we were happy. No problems until the 3rd night there;
As we were going out for the night at around 9-10pm we went to the reception desk to hand in our key (which we, and numerous others did every night) there were some people complaining that they'd had things stolen from their room within two hours of booking in there. We thought they were just unlucky and handed our key in anyway. We got back about 6am the following morning to find we'd had three of our phones stolen, a watch and a small amount of Euros. We went down to front desk to report it, and found another guy that had been robbed as well, but they had taken his passport, plane ticket, over 600 euros, all his clothes, everything. The manager didn't care less and he did nothing about it - he was very reluctant to ring the police, we had to practically force him. When they got there they stayed for about 2 minutes and left saying there was nothing we or they could do.
The next morning we found about 20 other people that had had things taken from their rooms in the past few days, not one had forced entry into the room, and some had their safes unlocked, emptied then locked behind them. The common link between all of us was that we'd all handed our keys into reception before we went out I think, so if you do decide to stay here DO NOT under any circumstances give your key in when you go out as you will almost certainly get your things stolen from your room.
The only reason I didn't give it one star was because the actual hotel itself was fine, just a shame about the staff.
fantastic fantastic fantastic

My wife and myself have been to most of balerics and spain in early october We found that the later in the year you go (not November or December)the warmer the water is, pools and sea, the one thing that might make you feel cold is if you get a day with no sun and a cool wind
