expensive train
by tanneddarling
the train is 14 euros per person
so if there are a few of you going - you might want to hire a car and take a trip to soller by yourself.
if you take the train - you will also have to take a tram to get to the sea front /coast and that will cost another 3-4 euros per person per way
train timetables are available from the tourist office.
If you go there with nothing, you're still okay

1 bag swim suits, flip flops, shorts, nice dress clothes for going out. But if you don't bring any of these items there are places that sell them very cheaply. I'm not kidding. You might want to bring some toiletries
The best way to travel to...
by silvia-m.b
The best way to travel to Palma is by airplane. Iberia, the most important Spanish company, offers good prices. (ticket in picture) Also you can arrive by ship, but is worst...specially during thunderstorms!!! The best company by ship is called Trasmediterranea.
From Palma you can travel by car, mountain bike or motorbike...is a really a flat island excepting north area with mountains. By bike not impossible, but it's hard!
In my opinion by boat is the best solution. There is one problem in Mallorca by car. Majority of roads around this island are REALLY! narrow. This cause accidents, specially in summer time. Be careful please! A good option is take a bus of the different companies around island. You can avoid drive because driver is a professional!
Take the train from Palma to Inca you'll have really unforgettable memories.
People watching at Bar Bosch
by Senoritasmile
This place has been here for YEARS and is continually busy due to its great, central location at the top of the Bourne and bottom of Jaime 3. Sit outside on the terrace and watch the world go by with your coffee, glass of hierbas and a wee tapa.
Gaudi's Crown of Thorns in the Palma Cathedral
by dlytle
The architect Antoni Gaudí was employed in the very early part of the 20th century to make controversial changes to the Palma Cathedral which he did, in part, by circling the interior columns with wrought-iron candelabra and suspending a crown of thorns above the altar, fashioned out of cardboard, cork and silk brocade. You can see it illuminated at the Sunday morning Mass.
The Cathedral is also said to house remnants of the True Cross and, above the altar, what is purported to be the original Crown of Thorns (although other european cathedrals make this same claim).
