A warm welcome
Fantastic hotel - been here three times so far and try to go every year. Smallish hotel set on outcrop next to marina. Rooms all well appointed with air-con and many with good sized balconies. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Hotel is based 20 minute walk (5 min in taxi) away from cathedral, just far enough. Area around hotel is being developed (sympathetically) all the time with more shops and restaurants opening.

Unique Quality: Really good restaurant...if more towards expensive side of things for Mallorca. Great views from the rooms to the marina, ocean and over to Palma harbour.
Plenty of good, clean beaches nearby.
Only 15mins in taxi from airport makes it a great short stay destination
From Hotel Tres, it was a good 45-minute-walk to Portixol. I wouldn't mind the distance at all since I have all the time in the world and besides I have to work off all the calories. There are quite a few restaurants there but the one that caught my eye was Rocamar. I had my usual fix of croquettes and then I had a sirloin steak with a slice of goose liver on top. They were both delicious.
High marks for ambience and quality of food. Overall a 9.5. I would recommend the Chateaubriand, for about 20 euros, it is a very good deal.

I need to take some people out for a nice (not too pricey) dinner in Palma early May. any suggestions of where to go preferable to be overlooking the sea?

Hi,late last year we were taken to a very nice restuarant overlooking the sea at Portixol just off the Paseo Maritimo a few minutes west of Palma...follow the road around (one way only) from the marina past quaint houses then as you turn sharp left the restuarant is on the corner....very nice,excellent food and very reasonable..and what a view....sorry, cant remember the name.
