Great beaches
by ncfg
In Mallorca you can find hot, blue water and white sand. When i had been there i didn't go many times to the beach because i went to visit the Island. Every day there was a different place to visit and to explore. In Mallorca Island there are not only beautiful beaches, but there are amazing places to visit and enjoy, don't forget this.

A voyage to the past, Soller Train
by russian_yaz
Go to Soller using this old wooden train. It crosses 13 tunnels, one of them 3 km long and also it goes trough beatifull valleys. Enjoy the views and in Soller walk trough the town.
The train departs from Palma each 1 and a half hour. The first one is at 8am. Last one to Palma from Soller departs at 7pm. On holydays, May, June, October it has another depart at 7:35pm.
The cost is 6 euros to Soller, 11 if U buy a two way ticket. My advice, take it from Palma and return in the bus.
Antique 'Wild West' Train to Soller
by amapola66
Hop on the Wild West Train from Palma Station to Soller in the north of the island.
This little antique train takes you on an hour long trip through stunning mountain scenery. If you get the tourist train (9 am ish), it will stop on route for you to take snaps of some truly lovely views of a picturesque village in the valleys (see pic).
When arriving in Soller, wander around the town for some quality food shopping and then jump on the little tram which takes you on a short trip (5km) through lemon and orange groves to the Port area of Soller. (If you avoid the tourist one, it is cheaper, not that it costs much normally, but the tourist one is emptier too).
The port area has a lovely beach, very shallow water in a picturesque bay for swimming and some cheap & charming hostals to stay in overnight. Although we found the restaurants rather unfriendly and not particularly amazing food wise, I'm sure if you had more time to choose carefully, something good could be found.
We were there end of Oct/early Nov and the weather was perfect for a day on the beach.
The train to Sóller was €7.20 (£4.40) return, single €4.40 (£2.70) in 2005
Highly recommended.
Safari park
by rcsparty
On the northeast side of the island there is a safari zoo that is a great place to spend time with kids. During one of the guys golf mornings, the wifes, grandparents, and kids headed to the zoo and had a fantastic time. The park exceeded all expectations.
