let know the local authorities that you love endemic seagrass Posidonia dead and dry leaves to be left alone on the sandy beaches. They prevent erosion and are natural. These days the hotel bussiness want them to be removed to 'clean' the beaches and have more room for hammacks, sun umbrellas, water motorbikes and the rest of all that rubish...!
magaluf

magaluf´s not really off the beaten path in summer- but it was deserted in november.
the bus cost about 3 euros each way from palma de mallorca and passed through several other villages and tourist resorts.
you can buy a travel card and get a discount off this.
we ate in a seafront/ beach restaurant called the happy house - and the girl spoke both spanish and english. the meals were cheap and good. we had pizza and a half chicken with chips and salad. all for about 10-15 euros. they have lots of good deals.
also bought some perfume from a perfume shop - and it was cheaper than the offer at the airport and came with a free lacoste bag - so it was a good deal
Yes, it's Italian.
by Luis_A about Via Appia
An authentic Italian restaurant with dishes rarely found in other Italian restaurants in Spain.
Suprisingly, the decor is mock-Arab and, we were told, by the terms of the lease they can't change it. Let yourself be guided by the Chef. The antipasto is imaginative and the pasta superb.
Soller
by Cool-123
You can find the whole range of "Fet a Soller" products in the sales exhibition located in the Soller train station. It includes olive oil, finest pates and the most authentic sausages, aromatic herbs, marmelades made from fresh and mature fruits, the best ice-cream and original ceramics.
How to get there:
You can either take the Soller Railway or coach to Soller. I suggest you take the former because it offers the eager traveller a series of impressions of the Mediterranean landscape of the Tramuntauna Mountain Range.

This is, probably, the most distinctive landmark of Palma. The cathedral, called la Seo by the Mallorquines, was constructed from 14th to 19th century, and the highly creative Antoni Gaud designed its interior in 20th century. Results are fascinating and original at the same time, almost impossible to describe with words. Most outstanding are perhaps the Puerta del Mirador, a door towards the sea created by architect Guillen Sagrera, and, in the interior, the chapels Capilla Real and Capilla de la Trinidad, as well as the museum with masterworks specially of the Baroque epoch.
