Driver to Soller from Palma?

by Jeanne33931

We are arriving on a cruise ship and will miss the first TRAIN to Soller. What would it cost to hire a driver or to take a bus to Soller from the cruise ship area? We would prefer the driver. Sorry for the repost, but I could not see how to edit my last post. (Too early in the morning!)

The train to Soller runs ore times in a day.

I suggest not to catch the touristic one. The ordinary one has no stops, but it is cheaper.

There are also some buses to Soller.

See my Mallorca pages for the link about the train to Soller.

Hi...There are 2 different buses to Soller, one going through Valldemosa and Deia and the other one straight to Soller through the tunnel. My advice, catch the fist one, beatifull views on your way to Soller. Check out this site to see prices and shedules: http://tib.caib.es/terrestre/autobusos.en.htm

The Soller train departs from Palma several times each day. Check out this site to see feesa and shedules: http://trendesoller.com/index.php/home/horarios/?l=es

The first one at 8am and then each 2 hours again another departure. The fee is 6.50 euros. My advice, try not to take the 10:50 and the 12:15 trains. They are supposed to be "touristic train", but the only difference is that they stop 10 minutes in a place where there is a nice view to Soller valley. Is not worth to pay about 5 more euros. Once in Soller, take at least once the tram to go to Port the Soller. Is only 2 euros and U´ll enjoy it.

Want more tips? Go to my Soller pages, there are lot of info, don´t forget to rate the tips...bye!

Travel Tips for Sóller

Little houses in the olive fields

by russian_yaz

If U hike alittle bit trough the mountains and the olives field U'll notice some small rock made houses. Some may seem abandoned, but they aren't. The local use this small and really old houses to keep they tools and other things safe. Some even have furniture and chimney to hide from the cold in winter. In Mallorca high in the mountains in the winter is usual to see some snow.
