Manuko-Benta.: Up in the hills.

After turning round and round in Bermeo trying to park, we headed out of town and found this hostelry nicely placed at the top of the Sollube pass some 15 kms from Bermeo. Lovely decorated rooms with plenty of space, On the upper floor were two salons leading to the rooms where there sofas and other chairs where you could relax away from the bar area. Nice welcome from a lady dressed in typical Basque clothes, velvet dress bonnet and bolero. Plenty of space on the parking lot with some kids games behind a fence away from the road.

Bed and breakfast for two came to 63 euros plus an evening meal for two came to 27€20 served by another pretty lady in typical dress.

The very nice welcome from the owners, but all in all a very pleasant stay.

Camping porteundo: Cramped and expensive

Overpriced and very expensive. Stayed in June and even though they said the restaurant was open it was not....there was a cafe there but the prices for Spain were rip off. Captive market i suppose as there is nothing else near the campsite that was open. Showers did not have adequate hot water although they were clean enough. Stayed on other sites which were much better and much cheaper. The pitches are crammed in like sardines although the setting is quite nice. Quite nice when it is empty. At peak season this place would be a nightmare....there would be no privacy at all.

Rented one of the mobiles due to bad weather..... extortionate at 70 euros a night for one bedroom and basically a glorified shed. Had just stayed previous nights somewhere else for 40 euros a night for much better. Quite noisey with both trains and lorries on the busy main road.

Swimming pool looked out of order as well. Not good for the money

Would not return.

Camping porteundo: A nice little campsite

It is a nice campsite with lot of shade, so during the heat in the summer you can still have some coolness. And for a first calss campoing it isn't expensive at all.
There is only one thing they should work on, it is the restaurant. It is very good, but a bit too expensive for many people who decide to camp.

The greatest quality is I think that the toilets and showers are clean, which in many cases on campings they ain't. They also have a shelter with benches and tables, so if it rains, you can still sit dry and cook your meal
