    Hotel Ercilla in Calle Ercilla, a classic in Bilbao. Since I was young I had been in their cafeteria or in the bullfighting events during the festival.

    I had stayed a few times there, but it was a long time ago, so I can not recommend the rooms. But the location is really good, as city centre, and close to the shopping area.


    Great shopping area too. LOL

    • The hotel appears to have been recently renovated, and the rooms are simple and elegant. The pastries in the attached cafeteria are fabulous.

    The hotel now has WiFi throughout, although it is a bit pricey (15 euros per day). It is very easy walk to get to the hotel from the Biskaibus stop at Plaza Moyua.

    I was told by my colleague, that this used to be posh and famous hotel 5 - 10 years ago, before sheraton and the rest in Bilbao.

    I enjoyed it, cheap and comfort.

    Classic basque traditional interior.
    Breakfast was fantastic. From fresh milk and fresh ground coffee to hot sausages and eggs really makes my whole stay in Bilbao full and satisfied.
