Hotel Bolina: Cheap but cheerful

We stayed at the Hotel Bolina in June 2003 as friends of ours were getting married in Gernika. There are only 2 hotels in the town & this is the most central. It's situated on a pedestrianised side street just 1 minute away from the town square. The hotel accommodation is very simply furnished with two single beds, phone, wardrobe, full bathroom, dressing table & mirror and a TV. It's spotlessly clean and the price is excellent - about ý45 per room per night.Although the board basis is room only, the hotel has a bar/cafe downstairs which can provide a continental breakfast for about 4 (coffee, OJ & a pastry). There is NO lift in the property so be prepared to haul your bags up the stairs - apart from that, the hotel is great! The Basque region is well worth a visit and Gernika is a great base to start from.... enjoy!

Incredibly central location
