Hi,
My wife wants to go to San Sebastian on Monday September 24th to visit clothes shops so I thought it best to insure it's not a bank holiday as we have been caught-out in the past.
Would be grateful for confirmation that the shops will be open and particularly on Mondays.
Thanks.
Yes, shops always open on mondays except if is a bank holiday.
I have looked at the "Calendario Laboral of San Sebastian" and the 24th of September is not a bank holiday there.

This date is the celebration of La Mercé and it is bank holiday in Barcelona
Thank you so much for your reply.
Cheers.

Traditional Basque cooking. Local ingredients, ingeniously cooked. I tried the mini-stack of foie gras, smoked eel and caramelized apple, in emulation of the mille-feuille. Amazing presentation and mouthwatering meal that included a glass of vintage Vega Sicilia.
Santa Maria Church was built in th middle of the 18th century. The layout of the church is a rectangular ground plan with a semicircural roof and the apse embeded in the sacristry. Outside, as a reminder of Donostia's military past, you can see traces of fortress. This is the church YOU MUST SEE!
To be truthful, this park is a bit odd. It’s not that it is filled with exotic flora or that it has a number of weird and wonderful sculptures, but rather its positioning is rather odd. It is located at the eastern edge of the Calle de Zubieta, right before you get to the Udaletxe (Town Hall), and there isn’t a whole lot of transition from the paved Belle Époque promenade into the greenery and gardens of the park. In fact, it almost seems as if the trees and greenery are springing from the pavements themselves, rather than from planned and maintained flowerbeds. The park has a playground, so it’s a favourite of families that come to promenade along the bay, and there are also a number of benches, so it attracts the elderly looking to sit, chat and relax in true Iberian style. In all, it isn’t a very large park, and it sort of inconveniently masks your view of the beautiful neo-Renaissance town hall. I guess you could say that, in a way, I’m not much a fan of the park, but it’s more that I’m convinced that it might have been better placed elsewhere.
San Sebastian (Donostia in Basque) is a beautiful, elegant city on a marvellous coastline.
For me, its real draw is the food and drink. The pintxos (tapas) that are available in many bars in the old quarter (near to the fishing port) are absolutely fantastic.
