Country living close to San Sebastian activities

The first thing that impressed us about the hotel was the individual attention of the staff. This is a very small hotel, so they were pretty much expecting us and called us by name when we arrived. While being small, they are definitely a full service hotel, featuring the mark of an excellent place: you do not notice the service staff unless you need something, at which time you will be attended to in a very timely manner. Breakfast was continental, but with such a beautiful setting that we stayed and lingered in the dining room for quite a while. On the last night we were very tired and ordered the chicken dish featured on the room service menu with some Rioja wine - what a surprise! This is true Basque cooking, outstanding meal, with incomparable service. Highly recommend it.

Unique Quality: Nestled in beautiful tree lined streets away from the tourist area, this property was a former private residence converted into a 25-room hotel. The room are very comfortable and modern yet keeping to a Vila atmosphere. Extremely quiet and relaxing - yet an easy walk or short bus ride away from the center of San Sebastian.

Accommodation

We are visiting San Sebastian next week for 3 nights and would like to find a lovely guesthouse to stay in.
We would prefer something small, personable, and not too pricey! And in a good location to explore the city.
Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks
jo

Well, I can do two out of three, but not the "not too pricey" part but maybe the rates will be lower later in the year. We stayed at Villa Soro http://www.villasoro.com/luxury_hotel_in_san_sebastian.htm . This Villa was a little away from the tourist area, but a *very* close walk to the beach, and with very easy access to buses. We were also too tired to eat out our first night there and had room service - was not expecting much being room service, and had the most delicious chicken dinner! Very private, outstanding stay, worth a little extra. I would return to stay there again! Breakfast is continental.

Hi, we're looking for somewhere too, in June. I was looking at the old town but I understand there's no parking anywhere and we'll have a hire car. Can anyone recommend somewhere clean, not too expensive and with some parking?
Thanks
