Agaete ( Dock )

THE FINGER OF GOD
An impressive rock formation can be seen just in front of the imposing Tamadaba cliffs. The Canarian writer Domingo Doreste gave this geological oddity the name of "The Finger of God" for its peculiar similarity to an enormous finger pointing towards the heavens.

Agaete is formed by a small port with a jetty and a small town centre within a mile. In this place you can take the Jet Ferry for a reasonable price. I took this Ferry to go to Sta. Cruz de Tenerife. This town has several churches and a main square where you can catch the coach.
The small and beautiful town of Agaete is to be found at the foot of the Tamadaba Pine Forest where the Tamadaba Ravine merges with the sea. Its white houses and anarchic street layout lend the place its particular charm. The town is already well known amongst foreigners and tourists for the Fiesta de la Rama, a festival dating back to the aboriginal inhabitants of the islands and which every August 4th fills the streets with gaiety and colour.
