$175 to $225 USD Beautiful hotel with great view. Very nice accomodations and large pool. Hotel is in a good location for day trips. Expensive but worth the price.
I have just returned from a week in the Kempinski Hotel Atlantis Bahia Real in Fuerteventura. I could not find a faul in this hotel - it was one of the best hotels i have stayed in in my life! This hotel is the best on the island, so im told.
The staff alaways have a smile and even if they manage to pour coke all over them selves and they still laugh and smile. The reception staff are always there to help you with anything. Such as booking for restuants.
The room we had was a juniour suite, it was smaller than we had expected but the terrace was large. The added sitting area was a bounus but when the sofa bed was folded down it did make the room feel a lot smaller and it was harder to walk round. The space for clothes was a bit over the top but still manged to use up all the hnages. The bathroom was one of the bigest and nicest bathrooms i have ever been in. The shower and bath are in the same sort of area, double sinks and one large mirror in the next and then a toilet and a ( bum washing device, cant remember what there called).
The pool area is not as big as i thought it would have been for a 5* hotel. There is one pool that is heated which has got the sort of jacuizi and then the pool that isnt heated which is slight bigger but a lot colder. The pool in the spa is heated and wonderful! With a sauna and steem room - was out of order. Also different types os shoers, such as a tropical shower and an ice drench shower.
As for the noise due to building work it is not a problem if you have a sea view room. My room was located on the ground floor. If you have a room facing the inland you will be affected by it because you need to go past these rooms to go to the spa. I don't know when the work starts in the morning as we were not awoken by it. There is a gap during the day about 12 for two hours. This noise can be heard at the pool but itsnt loud enough to prevent you from having an afternoon nap. If there are some childern round the pool you will not hear the rock breaker but you can see the crayons at the pool.
As for the main town its self the hotel is located at the end of Correlecjo and about a 3 euro taxi ride into the main taxi rank. There are few decent restuants to eat in such as Meson Eve Tapas, and there was anoter recomended by the rep. The town is as shabby as any other tourist place like Alcudia in majorca but a lot smaller, i cant see what people were comlaning about. Its no Dubai or Palma but its good.
The main beach that is a national park is worth going to see but not good if you are planing on sun bathig there because it is just too windy and the sand does hurt when its hits your feet and the fact there are no lounger on the beach, its filled with wind surfers. but is a must see beach.
Since long time, once a year I spent part of my holidays in Canarias, I had been in Tenerife, Lanzarorte and Gran Canaria and sincerely Bahia Real in Fuerteventura was the best way to spent a good and relaxed holiday. Has great staff, good food, spacious rooms and a good ambience away from the german and british mass tourism. Nearby (five minutes drive or 15 minutes waking) are situated one of the best beaches of North Atlantic, clean water and white sand. At a couple of hours by plane we can´t ask more. I will return as soon as possible.
Some advices:
Ask a sea view room.
In Corralejo there are few good local restaurants.
Try the spa;

This is an excellent hotel with first class service. It is located right next to the sea and there is a major development behind the hotel but nothing seems to be happening with it. It's best to have a sea view room and the view is stunning as there is no road in front of the hotel.
The local town of Corralejo is a typical rather downmarket resort so it's best to use the restaurants at the Kempinski. These are varied and it's necessary to book even though none seemed busy when we were staying.
You can't swim from the beach in front of the hotel but there is a courtesy bus to the local beaches which are excellent if you don't mind being put off by large acreages of German naked flesh.
There doesn't seem to be much to see on Fuerteventura but it's a great place to chill out and the Kempinski is a great hotel.
We are a couple with a 23 month old son. Based on the excellent reviews of tripadvisor, we recently booked a junior suite for one week over the X-mas period through the Kempinski online reservation system. In the reservation page we put all the requested information including that at the time of our stay our two year old son would need an extra bed. We received a confirmation indicating the exact price for 7 days in a junior suite. However, the next day we received another email from the reservations office telling us that there is an extra charge of 75 Euros per night for our two year old child. This suddenly and unexpectedly increases the price of our reservation by 525 Euros. While we know tha many hotels apply a supplement for children over the age of two, such extra charges should clearly be stated at the time of booking so as to avoid significant hidden costs. When we called the hotel in Fuerteventura for clarification we were told that this was the pollicy of the hotel and there was nothing that could be done and basically to take it or leave it. Furthermore, the explanation given as to the reason for charging 75 Euros per day was the cost of the breakfast of our 2 year old and the use of the sofa bed of the junior suite (which is part of the room any way). While we do not argue that such astronomical rate for a two year old child is wrong by definition, we do argue that transparency in hotel policies at this level (or even at any level!) is a minimum standard required. This is not the way to run a five star resort. A disgrace for Kempinski.
July 2006 - beautiful 5 days at Kempinski.
.
2 outside pools - 1 heated to 25 degrees C. Very few people in July. Spa very nice, moderate prices : face massage 35 euros per 20 min.. We took algaes and mud baths - nice. American girl working the the spa - very simpatic. Breakfast fabulous. Parking free. Construction works going outside the hotel but without hearing the noise. pools OK. 4 restaurantes including 1 french with 1 Michelin star !. Drinks at reasonable pices.
Dinner 45 euros per person.
Staf very nice and helpful.
No beach. The beach in front of the hotel sandy, but rocks in water - impossible to swim. Have to walk 500 m. to the beautiful sandy beach with nice water. We had a room overlooking island Isla de los Lobos and Lanzarote.
Enjoyed veeeeery much. Definitely coming back !
Our photos ( from the hotel and the islands) in Polish :)

Make no mistake this hotel is not a beach resort.. the hotel has no beach. the hotel beaches photos are old and the sea has taken all the sand away. The beach is 15 minutes away.
The hotel is nice: 2 good pools; great spa; nice restaurants; great rooms; nice village near by
Ask for sea view room..
loved every second of time spent in hotel, food, staff ambience, everything brilliant. would definitely go back.
didn't have a sea view room, we were over looking the pool which was still fab. i could not find fault with this hotel.
Myself and hubby have just returned from our honeymoon spent at this hotel. The hotel is simply fabulous. Styled in an Arabic fashion it has impressive marble throughout, the reception area is impressive. We had breakfast and dinner each day in the buffet restaurant which had a mouth watering display of food, everything you could possibly wish for was there. The staff were really friendly and efficient and all had a good command of english too. We had a twin room with terrace overlooking the sea which was ideal. The shopping centre which is being built right across from the front of the hotel didnt affect us at all as our room was situated at the back of the hotel (ask for sea view) and anyway it is shielded off so wasnt an eye sore or anything. The pool area is lovely and picturesque. We headed into Corralejo town every day (taxi bout 2.50 each way, just ask reception staff to ring one for you and it will appear in literally 5 mins) for a bit of lunch and shopping, cant understand why former reviewers have complained so much about this town, ok it is full of souvenier shops and the like but we thought it was safe and didnt have a problem with it at all. Head to Porto Del Carmen in Lanzorate on the Princessa Ico ferry (32 euro per head) for a better range of shops. The beach at the hotel is rocky just at the water edge so no good for swimming. Nightlife at the hotel is very quiet to say the least so dont head there if your lookin for a mad time, we spent our nights after dinner havin a quiet drink in the hotel bar by the pool or out on the romantic terrace just off the reception (vodka 5.50 diet coke 3.00, small bottle heineken 4.50 roughly)so drink I thought was quite pricey, but then again its a 5*hotel! Our taxi didnt collect us until 6pm to return to the airport and reception said not to check out till then (normal checkout is 12noon) which was lovely so make sure to mention it to them.
Ok, if I had to gripe about somethin it would be that when we were checkin out they charged us for the still mineral water that we were given with our dinner each night, even though it was on a half board basis and I would have thought that your dinner in the buffet would have included at least a glass of water to go with it in the price. Also they tend to cook their red meat very very very rare so dont be afraid to stress it to the chef (I had to hand mine back 3 times it was nearly raw). The spa is fantastic as well, treaments very reasonable and hairdressere good too. All in all we had a fantastic relaxin time there, very quiet but perfect if your lookin for a chill out pampering holiday!!
1. When we stayed it was unbearably noisy from about 8am on weekdays and Saturdays until the early evening. There was major construction work about 50 metres away which the hotel made no effort to warn visitors about (while advertising itself as a place worth visiting).
2. Poor location. There is no beach to speak of. The best nearby beach is reached by an irregular bus service from outside the hotel. It is windy (ok - so there's a clue in the island's name), busy and has poor facilities (e.g. the only toilets are at one end of what is a very long beach). The beach also suffered a ladybird infestation throughout two of the days we visited it. The sea was cold and not for the faint-hearted.
3. The hotel's main swimming pool (also cold) is surrounded by apartments and feels like a goldfish bowl. During our stay it was frequented by noisy children (although the drilling and banging from next door often drowned them out).
4. The standard of service was usually good but often staff performed exceptionally poorly. We had to wait hours for our luggage to be delivered to our room. On one occasion a member of staff, ignoring the "do not disturb" sign on our door, let another guest in. They walked around, saw us in the bathroom and ran out!
5. While the food and drink was good you certainly pay for it as an extra. Our lunch, dinner and drinks bill after seven nights came to about £1,000. There were only two of us, we missed lunch most days (as we were at the beach) and did not exactly pig-out. Top tip: the buffet costs about as much per head as each of the restaurants (where the food is superior).
6. The spa is decent and quiet. Although the treatments are extra the excellent swimming pool is free.
