lovely apartments at Las Marismas
Review: Las Marismas, Corralejo
Reviewer : AJOS, Ireland
Myself and my husband spent a week here at the end of March. This was trip was planned to be a total chill out week, sun, sleep and doing very little except read books and enjoy the local wine.
Our apartment was lovely. Spotless clean and well equipped with kitchenette. Kettle, Toaster, Microwave, Hob and well stocked utensils.
The complex is big but has its own restaurant for breakfast and evening dinner. We didn't try it but heard it was lovely. The pool side bar served lunch between 1 - 3pm and was very tasty.
The bar opened in the evening from 7pm - 11.30pm.
There was a small mini market on the complex that stocked the basic necessities.
Las Marismas is about a 15 min walk into Corralejo which is a nice stroll. It was lovely and quiet at night being away from any noisy areas. Carrolejo had a great selection of restaurants and we had good food and wine at very reasonable prices each night.
We couldnt fault the complex or staff. Our apartment was well located with the balcony in the sun all day.. ( Thought some apartments appeared to be in shaded areas which would make the apartments cold.)
We enjoyed our stay in the Las Marismas and will retrun.
2 weeks at Las Marismas , Corralejo, Fuerteventura with 2 adults and a baby. Very pleased with the hotel. Excellent pool area, service, appartments and total experience.
Wouldnt recommend full pension, due to only one restaurant. We had some meals there, but would get bored with eating at the same place every meal.
just returned last night from spending two weeks here.Complex is lovely and clean-food in pool bar fine-only ate once in hotel in evening and food was nice there too- we wanted to try different places in the resort.Booked this complex due to the reviews and it was defintely a good choice. We had apt 1227 which was 2 bedrooms and really spacious it had a massive balcony on which the sun shone all day. No sign of any insects etc just the odd fly. I took a kettle as recommended on a review i read but generally apart from a dustpan and brush it had all you need (although another soft chair or sofa would have been nice!)All the reviews seem to cover everything.
The place seems to attract German tourists and the tv did have German speaking stations however the only english speaking channels were sky news and CNN-much to the childrens disappointment.(just a minor thing really).
The pools could have been a little warmer-ok once you were in- but there were plenty of nice comfortable beds available although the place was very quiet when we were there-just as we like it on holiday!
The staff were all very pleasent and helpful and overall i would recommend Las Marismas and will defintely return.
I booked it through Lowcostbeds.
Nice places to eat in the resort are-Tony Romas, Waikiki,Don Castilla,la trattoria and la Tascas.Dont waste money on the Shopping trip to Lanzerote shops are hopeless!
Please if you go to Las Marismas and see the wee black and white cat in the complex..... feed her.
After reading all the reviews on this site about the las marismas we decided to book a week in the sun during March. We arrived at the hotel which had a large light and spacious reception with pleasent staff. We arrived at our apartment and where pleased to see the full screen mosquito nets in place over the windows. The apartment was spacious enough, better than the average holiday apartment. The complex as a whole is a nice size and never seemed busy (even though the hotel was pretty much fully booked). Plenty of wooden sunloungers for everyone, 2 pools 1 alittle warmer than the other but my personal preference was the upper colder pool due to less people using it. Hotel is a mix of mainly Germans with English and Spanish making up numbers. Apartments cleaned everyday new towels 3 times in the week we were there and new sheets once.Nice steady walk into town ,(about 20 mins) plenty of time for a pleasent chat and to absorb your surroundings. Visited Baku water park, pleasently surprised after all the bad reviews the place seems to get, 18 euros in but then free rubber rings inside and 3 euros for locker with 5 euro deposit for key, spent 4 hours messing about on all slides and lazy pool, not the best water park in the world but better than expected. All in all not a bad hotel for the price, you would struggle to find better, just alittle advice, the dinner buffet at pool bar is not worth the money, everything is cold, and we got there when they were just starting to open the buffet. We like Fuerteventura and have visited many times i would use this hotel again for a cheap winter break.
We - my husband, baby daughter and I - stayed in Las Marismas for a week recently. We were heartened by the reviews we'd seen on this website, and looked forward to a nice, relaxing week.
Our apartment was lovely, clean, and very spacious. The was a good choice of pools - a children's one, a salt water one (too cold!) and a heated one. We never had any difficulty getting a spot by the pool.
Dealing with staff at reception was problematic at times. While some receptionists were helpful, there were several occasions when others stood chatting to one another rather than attend to me.
Checking in was extremely slow, and when I double-checked that the cot we ordered would be in our room, I was told that it was broken, and that we would have to do without until the following day. I insisted that other hotels be contacted, if necessary, to acquire one. A cot arrived two hours later.
Baby-related equipment e.g. highchairs could be hired via reception, as could the use of a safety deposit box. This was great, but would have been even better had it been possible to book them in advance.
We felt that the apartments were a bit further out of town than we expected - certainly a good halfhour walk (pushing a buggy) from the old town, where the nicer restaurants were. The new town was a bit tacky.
We didn't find the food in Corralejo, including lunch at the convenient poolside restaurant, particularly good. What was particularly memorable, however, was the welcome our little girl was given everywhere we went. Highchairs were produced even before we asked, copious spoons were supplied for her to play with, a waiter asked permission to hold her...Restaurant staff were extremely pleasant.
Is it worth a visit? If you're looking for a relaxing week lounging by the pool, or have young children, yes.
Lovely Relaxing Holiday
We have just come back from a weeks holiday in this lovely hotel. There was my husband, son, nephew and myself. As previously mentioned, the rooms are of a very good standard and are very spacious (we had a suite). The hotel complex is very well laid out with lots of things for the kids to get involved in. After a couple of days the kids had become part of multi national mini football team, with Englsh, Irish, Scottish, Spanish, German and even Polish children, it was great to see them all playing together.
The weather was nice but as to be expected in the Canaries a little windy. We were all inclusive and found the food to be varied and well presented (not much for junk food eaters). The drinks were not diluted as we have found on other all inclusives and you were never made to feel second class. This hotel is a Key 3, but we felt it definately warranted a 4*. The only thing we could have done with on occassions, would have been air conditioning, but there was a fan in the main bedroom. Entertainment not great, but neither were the audiences. Karaoke night and magician both good fun. The town is a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel and worth a visit in the evenings. Waterpark across from hotel great and no queing at this time of yearl Overall, we had a lovely holiday and would definately recommend it for families.
Got back very late on Saturday night 21st April 07 after a lovely 2 week holiday with our 2 children, Ryan who is 8 and Olivia who is 4. Reception staff were very helpful on arrival and most were very nice through out the holiday. Rooms were clean, well presented and spacious. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with 2 other beds in the front room, which we felt was ample. We were all inclusive, the food and drink were good. 3 lovely pools in the complex, 1 large heated, 1 large cold and 1 kiddie pool - all very clean. Olivia enjoyed the kids club with MAX, painting, drawing and a mini disco for the kids in the evening. When the kids club was not on, she enjoyed playing in the large sand pit and play area. Ryan enjoyed the on-site mini golf course (18 hole), tennis, football and volley ball and the evening international youth football game outside the bar in the evenings. Lyn was good and went to a few of the areobic classes in the gym area whilst I just lazed by 1 of the pools and made the most of the all inclusive.
The main town part is about a 15 minute walk away from the hotel. We only ventured down there a couple of times - had a Chinese meal of all things at the Slow Boat 2, meal was lovely.
Water park is just across the road from the hotel, kids loved it, but I thought it was a bit expensive for what it was.
We hired a car and the 2 weeks and drove around to a few of the beaches - Cotillo is about 25 minute drive away and has an ideal surfing beach to the left or a calm coved area on the right.
Overall, the holiday was great, the hotel and staff were nice, the weather was lovely for the 2 weeks, the kids made alot of new friends and we met alot of nice people.
We may return here and I would recommend it to others.
Tom, Oscar and the Chelsea fan (we chatted most nights but never exchanged names) sorry we missed you at the airport, but our check in was really slow. Oliver - hope your eye is better, Andrea, Jamie and girls, hope you had as good a time as we did
Stayed with my boyfriend for one week in march and was very impressed
with the apartments. They were very clean and spacious especially as we were put into one of the ones for disabled holiday makers. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly which is not always the case. Did not use the pool but it was clean and had comfy sun loungers that were cushioned!. These apartments would be 4* but they do not have air conditioning but they did have ceiling fans which you
don't need in March anyway. Would stay there again
