2nd Visit to Lobos Bahia- A Great Place

by TripAdvisor Member WelshTraveller10

Period: December 2004.

This is the second time in 3 years that my fiance and I have stayed in the Lobos Bahia. When we decided we were going back to Corralejo we actally did a search for this accomodation as we were so pleased with our stay the last time. The apartments are very clean and well maintained. The maids service the rooms 6 times a week and they do a fantastic job cleaning the apartments. The complex has 2 large pools which are great fun. However, they are not heated and this can present a problem in the Winter months. The smaller of the two has recently been refurbished with new mosaics and looks fantastic. Try and ask for a balcony overlooking one of the pools as many rooms overlook the rear of the complex.

Facilities: Crazy golf; gym; restaurant; pool side snack bar; 2 pools; shop. TOP TIP- Use metro supermarket in Town (much cheaper)

Lobos Bahia is situated at the end of the main road leading to the town of Corralejo. A leisurely walk would take around 10 minutes to get you to the centre of activity. The town has a relaxed feel and the people are very friendly. Its well worth considering hiring a car for a few days as Fuerteventura is a beautiful island with lots of attractions. The traditional villages in the interior are well worth a visit. Try Villaverde and Antigua.

Of all the apartments I have...

by Viennabarley

Of all the apartments I have stayed in, far and away the best value is the Lobos Bahia aparthotel in Corralejo.
Its ideally placed for the bars, shops, beach and transport. Self catering accommodation is clean and well laid out, with sizeable balconies. The huge pool area is immaculate and set in attractive gardens.
Half and full board is an option, but I prefer to buy a ticket from the restaurant as and when...the meals are buffet style, all you can eat, and there is a good range on offer. However, as there are so many eateries in Corralejo its best to explore.
The entertainment laid on is average for the aparthotel scene, there is a cabaret room and two smaller, quieter bars.

There is also a dialysis facility in the complex.

Bottom end of the scale, pricewise, is the Sol y Mar hostel in Corralejo. This is an old Canarian house converted into a hostel and is very popular with surfers.

WARNING...to non-cat lovers...in all the aparthotels, cats roam the grounds and are rather partial to exploring your room! Be nice to them, they keep the vermin down, ....and they live here!

POSTCRIPT..to cat lovers....all the cats Ive seen in the apartment complexes are well fed and cared for. If you notice that some have the top of one ear snipped off, its because they have been neutered (the vets do this whilst the cat is under anaesthetic) it is a good way of targeting unneutered cats and stops neutered fenales being operated on again in error.

Great Pool but not so great accomodation

by TripAdvisor Member ItalianPanda

Stayed at Lobos Bahia in September 2004 (just got back), salted pool is very big and very nice but music by the pool is extremely repetitive and entertainement is rather poor. Apartments are ok but run down, bathoom was very small (on 1 bed apt) with no window or extractor fan. Rennovation work is currently taking place on some of the apartments. Good location, lovely resort, would go back to Corralejo but not to Lobos Bahia Club.

great holiday!

Recently returned from a fabulous stay at Lobos Bahia Club. I was with my 12 yr. old daughter and there was lots for her to enjoy too - bicycle hire, great pools, tennis, golf, trampolines beside the appts. Good evening entertainment for families but no late night fun for adults - best staying in the town. Appartment was great and staff all very nice and helpful.

thought it was ok

by A TripAdvisor Member

stayed in the Lobos Bahia 14 Aug to 28th 04. Thought the complex was well set up but the rooms were a bit shabby in places, nothing that a good lick of paint wouldn't fix. Large pool has too much salt and will hurt your eyes. Life guards there were spot on,and great for looking out for the kids in the pool. Staff did seem to be under pressure all the time, almost impossible to get a drink at the bar/table. Just under staffed!
Entertainment for the kids both during the day and at night was great but could do with taking the competiveness out of it. Kids get enough of that in school etc. just let them have Fun.

Great all round winter break

by TripAdvisor Member HandbagGal

Have had 2 stays in Lobos Bahia and going for third time at Easter. Really good complex which is near to everything yet still quietly tucked away. Great entertainment for kids, only downside is that the kids drag you back for their evening entertainment but once that is over the entertainment for mams and dads can be a bit repetitive.....but good fun still. Daytime activities for kids great, they even have an indoor "clubhouse" type room for them to do painting and art etc. Didn't eat at night in Restaurant as there are too many brill restaurants downtown, Waikiki restaurant on the beach is by far our fav, followed by La Tasca (try the mixed grill its the best) and of course the chinese food is delicious. Would really recommend for a quiet winter week to get away from it all, remember to ask for a pool view apartment and have the paella and sangria in the poolside bar on Fridays....yum!!

I liked it

I just got back from Lobos Bahia and I have to say that I thought it was a great complex. I have just read the other posts: Yes the main pool is salty which takes a while to get used to, but is fine after a day or two. You should shower after the pool though (poolside showers are provided) or you will be covered in salt as you would expect. The grounds are very well kept. The main pool looks well. I didnt bother with the food or the bar at the complex as we went out most nights, so I cant comment. It looks good enough for kids with alot of entertainment during the day by the pool and at night in the bar. The staff were friendly and helped with any problems we had. It was my partners birhtday over there and they left us a bottle of champagne in the apartment for it. That was nice. Its in a great location just at the top of the main street. And if you are thinking of going there in 2005 the water park will be open. It is just at the back of the apartments and looks good with lots of slides. The apartments were nice. We requested a pool view and second floor so I would recommend you do that. Just watch out for the mosquitos. I got bitten alot at night. So either get a net for the room window or one of those plug in deterrants and you should be ok. Overall a great relaxing complex and well situated.

nice place to stay

by A TripAdvisor Member

my wife and i were there first week in september and found the apartment to be clean and tidy , the friendly cleaning staff were in every day and did a very thorough job. being off peak we found it very quiet especially at night in the house bars , to be expected i suppose . probably not for the younger set but ideal for families and the more mature couples. not the nicest place weve been but very pleasant nonrtheless and we would certainly stay there again. the reception staff were helpful and friendly as were the night duty people. hire a car for a day or two and explore the mountain regions down south, its quite spectacular and was a highlight for us . be very careful though ,the roads are quite narrow and bendy

got some good tips to make ur holiday better!!!

by A TripAdvisor Member

the pool was fantastic!!!!! lovely atmosphere and clean area.
they had a fantastic breakfast and dinner buffet with a variety of different foods from night to night.
the entertainment was rather poor but because the complex was so close to the city centre it didnt matter as we stayed out in resturants until late!!!

It was a 5 minute taxi ride from the exotic flag beach wich we found fantastic.
If your planning a holiday in fueterventura, and your lookin at websites for the weather, ignore them.... we were worried about the weather because sites were saying ........ cloudy and 19 degrees celcius but we didnt have 1 cloudy day and temperatures didnt go any lower than 30 degrees celcius day or night............... be carefull of sunburn though..

p.s make sure u get an air conditioned room because we suffered at nights and get something against mosquitoes as they were loads!!!!!!!!!

if you have any more questions dont hesitate to email me
have a fantastic holiday!!!!! :o)

fantastic holiday

by A TripAdvisor Member

my husband and i and our 4 children went to the lobos in may.
we have been all over the canaries but i must say our stay here was probaly one of the best. clean comfatable and the staff fab .(just one faults the resturant is not plesant 1 breakfast was 1 too many )the pools are great for kids and the bonus of salt water adds to your tan. the little pub at night is a lovely end to a fantastic meal.resturants are for all tastes in the resort and are brill . for a high class resturant go to ocskers and pick your lobster from the rock pool.brill. would definately go there a gain. !!

Things to do

by hinchg

Hi, Im travelling to Corralejo in august and was wondering whether anyone could give me a few ideas as to where to go ie to eat, which pubs are ideal for both adults and children, what sights to see etc...

Also ive been told there is a fitness centre/gymnasium near the Lobos Bahia, has anyone been and if so is it any good? Ive got a 10km race when i return from my holiday and want to workout a bit if I get chance... Is there any other gymnasiums in Corralejo?

thanks for your help
