More about Suite-Hotel Atlantis Fuerteventura Resort
The cockroach hotel
If you want to see a 4* hotel with 3 inches cockroaches you must go to Suite Atlantis Fuerteventura. We stayed 5 days in 3 different rooms and we found cockroaches in the 3 rooms.
We got the same anwer from the whole staff of the hotel (from the recptionist to the director): "there are a lot of cockroaches in the island, so it's normal to have cockroaches in the hotel"
The ammenities isn´t bad althought the all include service only included drinks of canarian branches and there weren´t much variey in the food.
So, if you don´t want to have nigtmares with cockroaches 3 months later of you vactions choose other hotel, even maybe other island.
Good clean and well maintained, but not brilliant
Spent a week at Atlantis Suite in October with our children, 10 and 16 and a friend. The suite hotel had a feel of apartments with two story height buildings each set around four pools, which although small, were relatively empty due to the time of year. I would imagine it to be very busy and cramped during the peak times of the year. The pool we used was right outside our ground floor room and was the only heated one on the complex. We didnt use any of he other pools at all during our stay. Also no sunbed thiefs which was good.
The one thing I personally didnt like was music through speakers around the pool we were staying near. It was too loud all afternoon so you couldnt concentrate on reading or sleeping!
However you could go to the other quieter, colder pools.
The room was large enough for both us and our 10 year old son, seperated by a folding wide door (he was on a sofa bed in the seating area). Good bathroom and shower. Cleaners came in every day and did a good job, changing towels etc daily.
Hotel location was rather bland, not near a nice beach, but a short 1km drive (or free bus ride if all inclusive) to a great shallow sandy beach south of the resort, very safe for children to play.
We went all inclusive as the cost difference was so little.
Overall the food was good for meat eaters, with lots of choice every night including steaks and fresh tuna etc. We suffered as vegetarians a little and stuck to the usual salads etc. Food was buffet style and nothing seemed to run out.
Breakfasts were of an average standard, but nothing out of the ordinary. Sandwiches available during the afternoon and a good choice of drinks (not all drinks were included) until midnight.
Two other restaurants on site were included as all inclusive only. Italian had a good choice and Spanish one seemed disorganised and not that good, but it made a change from the salad! If your not too bothered about eating great food it was good and you could eat and drink pretty much all day if you really wanted to!
Only one bar open in evening. It is open air under a large canopy next to the retaurant and the entertainment area which was nice when weather was warm.
Entertainment was there if you wanted it in evening, usual mimed shows from enthusistic team members.
There was also a spa/sauna which when inspected seemed to be full of naked germans, so kept clear.
Hotel overall was above average but not at all stylish/impressive, although very well run, clean and neat.
Our week was good and quiet but weather was bad nearly every day, which meant it was a very different holiday.
There is not much to do in Fuerteventura when its raining as it is all about the beaches etc. so it looks rather grey and miserable.
Went on trip to water park which was good fun as it was not at all busy, and good slides etc.
Corralejo was unimpressive and took around half an hour to look around. Its a bit tacky, full of tourist stuff really.
Lasting impression of the island was not really good due to weather and would probably not return unless found a really great hotel by beach if thats possible.
IS it just me ?......
Reading the reviews of this hotel I am wondering if it is the same place my family and I stayed at in July ! We spent a week there and felt that the only saving grace was that we weren`t there for two. The hotel is just ok,but not 4*. There are several pools but they are all on the small side and the sun beds too tightly packed together to provide any privacy. Our room/suite was fine in size and kept nice and clean but provided us with a view of a wall ! The buffet food was good however the two on- site resturants (especially the Spanish one ) were terrible. The surrounding area was barren and bleak and the town completely soulless and tacky. The local beach was however very beautiful and was the only highlight of the place but not really worth a 4 hour plane journey to see. Needless to say, we will not be returning
What a fantastic resort!
Having read the previous reviews of this resort, I was expecting a few things to pick fault with but I can honestly say that this is the best place I have ever stayed at in its class.
The building work nearby gave no cause for concern and our suites were next to the building site.
Clean, well laid out and with some of the friendliest staff I have ever come across, simply cannot fault it. My party went all inclusive and the quality of the food and drink was excellent.
No need to repeat the other glowing reports except to say don't miss out on the Chinese corner in the Gaudi restaurant and the Lobby bar with its fresh coffee all day long.
Top place, top holiday!
Great family hotel
Booked this hotel based on reviews from this site and a recommendation from a local family. However, after booking read a few reviews which concerned me a little but these were completely unfounded.
This is a great place to go to chill, relax and spend time with the family - very much a family resort. Our 2 children aged 6 and 9 had a ball - a swimming pool virtually to themselves, a range of activities to join in or watch which they dibbed in and out of - and from a parents perspective a very safe envoironment for them - and us - to enjoy our holiday.
We chose the self catering option as have friends who live on the island and therefore wanted to spend dinner/evenings with them. Ate at some fantastic restaurants - very varied and reasonably priced - helped by knowing 'locals'!
The rooms in the hotel were clean but basic - great showers and fresh towels every day if you want them - pool towels also supplied!
Thought the spa on the resort was great - would recommend the hot stone massage.
On the whole great value for money resort.
great hotel if you like it quiet
We stayed here in October with our thirteen year old son. We loved the standard of cleanliness and fresh towels every day.
I did think the apartment was a bit on the small side with no privacy as only a sliding door to the bedroom that did not work very well, but still great value considering what we paid for the two weeks. We were self catering, thank goodness as only tried the buffet restaurant once and found it ok but nothing special, as there are some fab restaurants down in the old town part.
I would def recommend here and perhaps will return when their are only two of us.
And leave those beach towels at home, as they provide them and have a drop off, pick up station.
If you have booked here then you have no worries and should have a great holiday.
Loved the comfortable room,and restaurants
We stayed at the Atlantis suit ehotel in November, very relaxing this time of year hotel only half full, the rooms were very spaciousand clean. Good food especially in the Spanish restaurant, the staff were very friendly with excellent service provided. The town centre is only a short taxi ride away costing 5pounds return. we hired a car for 3 days which only cost 55pounds from a local rental company and is well worth it to look around the Island. We would be sure you would enjoy your stay here and would recomend it for a relaxing holiday 9/10.
We have just returned from this lovely hotel having spent New year
there. Although it was very busy the hotel catered very well for everybody. We were on the all-inclusive package and the food
was very good especially the Italian restaurant. Plenty of choice
and well cooked. The suite we had was spacious and clean as
was the rest of the hotel. Staff were very friendly. Good
supermarket on site for essentials. Ideal for families. Pleasant
15 min walk into centre and harbour. Would definitely go again.
Could have done with a comfy chair
This hotel was quiet and peaceful, and very good for our tennis loving teenage son. He enjoyed his lessons and the tournament. Our bed was huge but our teenage son had to sleep on the sofa converted into a bed, not so good for him as he is tall and he couldn`t wait to get into his own bed. We found an awful cockroach, but worse was the mosquitos which plagued us at night. I wish we had gone half board as I think it may have been better value for money, we paid over £2,400 for a fortnight, add on the meals out and you come to the dearest holiday ever. I really felt my temper rising when were told it would cost us 87 euros each if we wanted to join in the christmas meal celebrations and 96 euros each if we wanted to join in new year celebrations in the main restaurant. As if they hadn`t got enough out of us already!
Even though I liked the resort of Corralejo very much, I wouldn`t return, as in my opinion Turkey offers much better value for money and better food and scenery.
Okay -Too Many People for the facilities
The Hotel is a little tired. The Staff do keep it very clean though.
Out of the many pools only one is heated and this pool is very overcrowded.
Restaurant always busy and they keep running out of things. No ketchup!. We were at the hotel during the New Year , it may be better out of high season.
Staff in mini club not very good-security is very poor they dont seem to know who should and should not be there. I saw at least 2 children escape un-noticed.
Good point-the two restaurants that you have to book a table-Spanish and Italien. Tables available to book the prior morning-well worth getting in line for.
