More about El Medano

For those into watersports,...

For those into watersports, the beach at Medano, just east of the airport is ideal. I can't remember the name of the place I rented my windsurf board from, but you can't miss it. Head towards El Medano town and take a right turn down a rough road about 500m before the town centre. There's a car park about a mile down the road. The kit hire place is on the beach. Hire kit, lean back and enjoy the ride!

Tenerife.
Nice place to spend your days in silence together with the Nature.
Do not go to Las Palmas or Los Christianos because is full of people. It is better to stay around El Medano and from there go to see Vilaflor and Teide or make a trip around the island. Beautiful. tI is so many places more interesting then hotels with their surroundings........La Roja "stone" is very excitng. Go and see yourself, why. And, YOU MUSTvisit La Gomera with so beautiful old forest that you will dream to be there once again.

Tenerife and La Gomera

by suzii

I went on a weeks holiday to Tenerife and it was completed different to what I was expecting. We stayed in a small town on the South-East of the island called El Medano.

The canarian people were very friendly and welcoming here and the town had tourists from many different countries.

With it being a small town the nightlife was very quiet and relaxing not like that of Los Cristianos or Las Americas. The town had lots of different resturants - we ate at a different one every nite.

The beach was beautiful, clean and uncrowded although the sea was very cold!!!

This picture is of the beach at El Medeno in the early evening. It shows Red Rock which you can climb up for a great veiw of the town and along the coast line.
