More about Fuerteventura Princess
just arrived back from the fuerteventura princess hotel and i must say what a fabulous hotel it is . all of the facilites were of a high standard ,rooms were spaciuos and clean ,swimming pools were spotless, food was good with plenty of different choices. there was entertainment every night for both adults and children.
I thought the only minus point of the holiday was going to be the location being 6kms from the nearest town but quite honestly there is no need to leave the hotel everything is there for a friendly relaxing holiday
lovely relaxing holiday
Just got back from a lovely relaxing one week holiday at the Feurteventura Princess hotel. No complaints. Everywhere you go there is someone cleaning something. The rooms are a good size. The beach is beautiful, white sand, crystal blue water. The wind can get quite strong so choose a less windy time to go walking along it to enjoy it fully. When we were there 17/05/06 to 24/05/06 there was a constant breeze which made the high temp. comfortable. Food lovely with good choices. We went full board, would not do that again you just recover from breakfast and face a mountain of food at lunchtime. I suggest have a late breakfast and buy a snack at lunchtime. The evening entertainment was very good only one show I thought was not very good . Our six year old had a fantastic time. The kids club is not like the Thomson kidzone but when our daughter went to it she enjoyed it. This is not a resort highly populated by english/english speaking tourists, I did not find this a problem some of the staff could speak really good english some just a little. The Thomson rep Smita was really nice and helpful. We only did one trip - The subcat - 141 euros for 2 adults and 1 child it was worth it, a real treat! Jandia town is worth a visit we took a taxi 5.5euros each way. There are people who go to the Princess year after year I can understand why. I do not agree (as suggested in a posting below) that this whole resort should become nudist, the facilities provided are more than enough and there is a huge beach on the hotel doorstep to bare all if you want too. The Fuerteventura Princess is superb and I am looking forward to the week I have booked for next year. Hello to June, Lewis, Julie and Jade (Jade, Monica lost your address on the plane would you please send it to her if you read this. Thanks). Hello to Eleanor & Sandy, Susan & Stephen, Susan, Malcom & Vicky.
Great Hotel Beautiful Beaches
I stayed at the Fuerteventura Princess from March 7th 2006 to March 14th. There was a blue sky & sunshine everyday with an average temperature of 26C. Our bedroom was clean, large & tastefully decorated and exactly as shown in the Thompson Platinum brochure. The bathroom has marble basin surrounds and sunken spotlights in the ceiling. The bath has a non-slip base and a grabrail. Unfortunately there is no kettle or tea/coffee facility in the room which would have been nice because I quite like to wake up gradually & enjoy a cup of tea in bed first thing in the morning. There is a TV in the room but its of no use to you unless you understand German or you want to depress yourself with English news & sport.
The breakfast & dinner buffet is huge and varied but mostly luke warm & perhaps too salty. If you want hot food choose the omelette or pancakes for breakfast as they cook it in front of you. The evening entertainment was ok and a pint of lager costs 3 Euros, glass of wine 3.60 Euros.
The four pools are clean & beautiful but only one of them was warm enough to get into without taking your breath away! The beach is easily reached via a short sloping path. The beaches are fantastic; better than Koh Samui...honestly! (And only 4 hours flight from UK!)Miles & miles of clean golden sand gently sloping into a clear turqouise & blue sea. And best of all is that if you walk a little way its not crammed full of row upon row of sunloungers. At low tide we walked back from Jandia town which took us 1 hour & was very enjoyable. There is a regular bus service to Jandia town which costs 1 Euro & stops right outside the hotel. We tried to visit Corralejo (in the North)using public transport it took about 2 hrs to reach Puerto del Rosario (£4 each one way) where we would have to change onto another bus which takes approx. 30 mins. So if you plan to do this make sure you leave early or you wont have enough time. We enjoyed feeding the little Chipmonks (at least I think they are chipmonks?) which live in the rocks at the back of the beach and they will eat out of your hand... they are especially fond of nuts & apples! If you are looking for a guaranteed sunshine & relaxing break you cant go wrong with this hotel.
As good as last year
Our second visit to this hotel and it was as good if not better this year than last. The food is only one of the many reasons we went back. The hotel is spotless the rooms are a really good size and the staff really friendly. The only thing we could find to complaine about was the Thompsons rep never saw her not even to let us know which bus to get on to the airport and there was no help when we got to the airport. This is not the fault of the hotel the great staff on reception couldn't be more helpful.
Also if you go there try out the beach bar by the slope from the hotel (Pedros and Isobela's) Great food try a steak at the Friday bar-b-ques and the fish is great too. This hotel is a must for a really good holiday.
The best holiday ever
i went to the princess in march 06 for a week. it was my 18th birthday present from my mum and just me and her went. i can honestly say it was one of the best holidays ive ever had. it was clean and well kept aswell as the staff being extra friendly and there for your every need. the beach was right next to the hotel and it was beautiful!if you like food this is a great opurtunity to try some delicasies!!!we were half board and there was plenty to eat with there being a breakfast buffet and an evening buffet! entertainment each evenin was excellent with something different each night which created a good atmosphere and i enjoyed dancing to the live music!!
the rooms were lovely, the beds were comfy and a maid came in every morning to make the bed & bring clean towels etc & in the evening they came back to pull back your sheets and they put a choclate on the pillow!!there is 2 resturants/cafes within the complex and plenty of bars!food and drink was reasonably priced and very tasty!!!!the weather was lovely and hot and i got a great tan!it was in the late 70's most days and was just right!
overall i give it the thumbs up if you want a nice relaxing holiday with good food and hot weather!although i wouldn't recomend it for large groups who want a lively bouncy holiday as this one is great for relaxing in the sun!!!!!
we found what we were llooking for
The hotel is located very close to the beach. It is calm and lovely. Food is very correct and various.
Service is ok. Room service and cleaning is efficient.
4 pools. Enough seats for everybody. Animation is corect though it starts only after the mini club at 21. Weather absolutely great. The hotel is located in a hotel zone :that means nearest small town needs a 15mn trip by bus:very cheap (1euro)and starting every 30mn. you can also go there following the beach: 1hour and 30 mn walking slowly. Fuerteventura is much more calm than the other Canary Island , and there is a little less to visit. But we liked it very much. It's a little bit windy but garanteed sun and more than 24°.
Hotel and holliday: we would start it again tomorrow (we are fifty years old)
Great stay at the Princess
Not long back from the Fueteventura Princess what a great holiday. Having twice stayed at its next door neighbour (Club Jandia Princess) I can honestly say this is a better hotel all round. The weather was fantastic certainly the best we have experienced in a winter holiday we were on a seven day break through Thomsons from 22 March through 29 March. Although the hotel appeared busy there was never any problem getting a lounger at the pool having said that the age old practice of booking beds by putting yout towel on it is alive and kicking here. The meals were of a good standard although on a couple of occassions we thought the food could have been a bit warmer. They also have a seperate breakfast restaurant for late risers which opens until 11am. For sunworshippers there are a selection of pools to lie at including one exclusively for naturists now dont knock it if you havent tried it we found it very relaxing and quiet. It also had two large saunas and a steam room again naturist only and for the inquisitive amongst you yes you could wander through the area in your swimwear but if you intend remaining there the please join in the clothes free culture because if you dont this will only invoke a reaction particularly from the germans. Beware of the massage offer because for 24 euros it was more of a punishment of the body than relaxation. All in all a great place to come for a winter week and we will certainly return again next year.
A Different World
Having started our holiday next door in the Club Jandia Princess we were happy to move into this superb hotel. It is a different world to next door. Helpfull and attentive staff, well decorated and presented and with a lovely dining experience. I really hope this hotel does not become all inclusive like its sister hotel.
If you enjoy shopping then this hotel is not for you, but a pleasant walk along the beach or a taxi ride takes you into Jandia where you will find the normal tourist shops. But if you enjoy shopping then you may be dissapointed with the choice. This did not bother us and having visited Jandia once we would not rush back, prefering to stay on the beach, by the pool or in one of the rather good beach bars. There are several bars to choose from for lunch both inside and outside of the hotel and the prices are reasonable and no more than you would expect to pay in a 4 star hotel.
I would recomend this hotel and can not wait to return. It provided all we like in quality with a superb beach location. Plenty of walking opportunity if you are happy to walk along the beach, and a peaceful atmosphere. Superb.
