Again like the shops, some of the Hotel entrances are Off road. This picture is taken out side of a hotel, safe because there is no traffic. Much nicer than pavemented streets with traffic rushing past.

Hi, I am brand new to Virtual Tourist so hope I have got this right!
I am planning to go to Fuerteventura for a few weeks in November/December, Can anyone tell me what sort of weather I can expect please. I dont need really hot weather, but would like some good spells sunshine. Cheers Val
Hi, the Canaries are always warm so you'll have a nice time, i think its usally about 23' in the day time, sometimes hotter.
Trying to predict the weather can be difficult because of local on the day variations.
This information should be used as a guide only.
Here is the average weather for Fuerteventura for this time of year.
Enjoy your holiday
November
High 73f / 23c
Low 63f / 17c
December
High 69f / 21c
Low 60f / 16c
I'm hoping it will be lovey and sunny as I'm planning on heading that way December time also! :-)
Second poster was right that you may get some 'rain' in Fuerte between October and May. But mostly this is in the form of light, passing showers rather than the set-in-for-days, grey skies torrential stuff that characterises Winter in the UK.
Mostly you should get warm sunshine, odd passing clouds, temps in the low 20s/low 70s by day - definitely beach weather - but possibly cold enough after dark to need a warm sweater/jacket if you're planning on sitting outside to eat.
The wind. Wel yes, the breeze is usually there in Fuerte but on the upside, that blows away the clouds that tend to hang around on, for example, Tenerife and bring all that Winter rainfall in the more westerly Canaries.

I have found that the local people absolutely idolise children.
They will talk to the child, before they will talk to you. My children were quite spoiled, and had a wonderful time, and because they had a wonderful time, we had a wonderful time too.
Don’t be afraid of your children taking over the place. As long as they are not nasty little critters, they will be welcomed.
Depending on how you like to travel suitcases or holdalls Light weight casual clothes, bathing costumes
sandals Plenty of sun cream and after sun Any type of camera the shops stock most batteries and films
A suberb wreck of an old American liner. The only problem is that it is at the end of a two mile VERY rough track.
The remote beach of Playa de Garcey, on the west coast of Fuerteventura, is home to one of the world's strangest tourist attractions, the shipwreck of the American Star ocean liner. This huge ship has been wrenched in half by the force of the elements and now sits alone, lost and ghostlike, a truly weird sight.
In 1994 the ship had been taken out of service and was on its way to Thailand for a new career as a floating restaurant. However, while being towed by the west coast of Africa, it encountered a heavy storm. It was decided that for the tug towing the ship to stay out of danger they should cut the American Star loose, with the intention of reconnecting in calmer weather.
The reconnection was never made and the liner wasn't seen again until it ran aground at Playa de Garcey.
Get a car or even better, a four wheel drive, and get up into “them there hills”.
It is only when you get up into the mountains do you realise just how big this island is.
The scenery is breathtaking, and you can find some lovely little villages too. Don’t just sit around the pool, get out and about, but do be careful on the roads, as it seems that there are barriers on the cliff roads, that are neither use nor ornament.
