What to do in 2 days?
by Ninaatje1988
Hi everybody,
I'm planning to go to Fuerteventura to do volunteerwork (4 days). After that, I would like to spend 2 more days in Fuerteventura. What would you recommend to visit? What is possible to do in 2 days. We will rent a car.
Thanks!!

Fuerteventura it´s definetly my favourite island, visit the Corralejo Dunes, in the town of Corralejo, and the beaches around, beautiful, and also the Tindaya Mountain, in La Oliva, it was a sacred mountain for the canarian aboriginals, worth the visit, and as you are renting a car you can go pretty much anywhere
have fun!

Travel Tips for Isla de Fuerteventura
FUERTEVENTURA PLACES AND INFO
by dsmcld
Hie I'm Claudio and i'm italian but i have 15 y.o. experience of this island also because i have home there and also one little apartment for rent.. ihave two PERSONAL web sites ABOUT FUERTEVENTURA: www.cotillo.de & www.cotillo.net here i put in internet many fotos of this places
I SUGGEST THE NORTH SHORE FOR HOLIDAYS ALSO IF THE SUD IS VERY BEAUTIFULL
NORTH:
Fuerteventura is one small island only 120 km from nord or sud top and large maximum 40 km
In Fuerte there are 80 km of WHITE sand beaches in all the island (140 bigs and smalls beaches)
tHE REST IS ROCKET AND VULCANIC cost .The best places for sand dunes is Corralejo and alls the Grandes Playas around .the best others beaches for my are: El cotillo an Maianicho .In the North. There are also nearest places interesting to visit like Lajares (10 minutes by drive car far from Corralejo)and villaverde with many vulcanic lands and you can see also the Cuevas (vulcanic caves) where you can found many different things about nature and also to view wilds animols also one eagle species .
SUD:
In the sud very fine is Costa calma and Morro el Jable and one other part name La pared BUT in the sud of island.. the wind sometimes is strong!!
THERE ARE ALSO others PARTs AND BEACHES that you only visit by one 4x4 car like for example Playa de cofete Fuerte it is one very beautifull island!! i Suggest to stay minimum 2 weeks!! I LIKE MORE THE NORTH THAT SUD !!! bye Claudio (pls apologie my for english lenguage)
Isla de Fuerteventura Tip
by JulesH
I remember there being very little for a teenager to do, but we were right next door to the (then) only club on the island. We only went there once though, as the entertainment for us consisted of drinking the night away with others our age in a little thatched roofed bar whilst our parents were in the piano bar!
Beer
by ak47uk
If like me you enjoy a pint then it might be useful to know that the local draught larger costs from 1.20 euros to 4 euros for a pint depending where you drink. I found that most bars where the locals drink away from the tourist areas can be cheaper yet some English run bars can be less expensive too. If you like more than a couple of beers in the evening like me you could end up saving yourself a fair few euros. So if you are going out for a few shop around and also look for the happy hours. You can have many a good night in a local bar with local people singing and dancing the night away, Cheers!
Surfing
by ak47uk
There are a few surf schools in and around Corralejo. I went to the Home Grown surf school for a morning surf and it cost me 35 euros for transport to the beach hire of the board and wetsuit. You leave around 10am and are back around 3pm. The surf and sea conditions will dictate wich beach you will travel too. Be prepared to travel across some very bumpy roads and to climb down some cliffs to get to the surf. (all part of the fun) If you are a beginer then they will take you to a beach break where you can learn to surf in the white water surf.

Hillwalking
by cadja
Don't do what I did and forget your hillwalking boots. Fuerteventura has lots of vulcano mountains.
Did the mountain left from the village Villaverde. The desert looks different from above... Mind the heat though!
A tip is to approach it from the north, as the mountain side is less steep and actually has a path part of the way.
Southside is worth a visit too. If you're not afraid of goats or skeletons... Caves have erroded on the hill side and they're quite remarkable. Mind the goat skeletons though.
A good tip is to take the bike. Then you can experience some refreshing downhill biking on the way home!
