Hotel Rural Las Calas: The Secret of Gran Canaria

Just returned from a week's stay at this beautiful hotel. Great breakfasts, fresh fruit available all day, and bottled water provided free in the room. courtyard and big gardens with comfy chairs to relax in. Friendly young staff and soothing ambience.

A marvellous House with very nice rooms, in a very quiet place, the ideal place to relax and to know Gran Canaria

Palm Oasis: Maspalomas

This is a time share resort, situated on a hill about 1.5 km from the sea.
The resort is well laid out with a huge swimming pool and excellent accomodation.
We stayed in a studio that was well furnished and equipped, even had a heated floor in the bathroom.
The downside is that there is not a lot going on immediately outside the resort, just a few bars and restaraunts so a car or taxi is neede to get you anywhere lively.

Excellent facilites, well laid out and an excellent pool.

Apartamentos Don Quijote: Nice appartments in Playa del Ingles

The apartments are clean though nothing fancy. They are family run. Overall good value for money, in my opinion.

They're located at one end of Playa del Ingles so you'l have to walk to many things, but you can use the beach promenade which is nice. I think this still beats being in a noisy avenue, or up the mountain in Puerto Rico (Gran Canaria) or Sonnenland resorts, and by far.

Nice views of the sea form the higher floors - we were lucky!!

Pool - like in most apartment complexes - is not too large, but isn't crowded, at least when we were there.

Riu Vistamar Puerto Rico: Pure luxury!

This hotel was fabulous, I'm never going anything less than 4* all inclusive again (we got a cheap deal just before xmas - look out for them!)! The service was wonderful, you really felt warmth towards to staff who seemed to really care about your stay. The food was excellent, we got very tubby during our week! Go on the excursions, they are well-organised and a lot of fun. All rooms had a sea view and being a cliff-top hotel I've never seen so much sea! It was easy to get around though with taxis costing about 3 euro (£1.50) to get down to Puerto Rico. The rooms were lovely too, more homely than the average hotel and with plenty of storage space. Go to Puerto Mogan for a day trip, it is the most charming place you will see on the south island compared with all the tourist areas and try and have dinner there too, the restaurants are lovely. Stay away from the Commercial Centre and Europa Centre though, they are tacky tourist traps, actually get some culture, Gran Canaria has lots!

Everything was outstanding, the food, the rooms, the service, the excursions, our reps (First Choice), the views and particuarly the view from the top pool which looks out over the sea. It was pure luxury start to finish.

Gran Hotel Costa Meloneras: Pool and ocean

Gran Hotel Costa Meloneras has lovely gardens with a lot of palmtrees and all kind of flowering plants.
There are several nicely designed swimmingpools with fountains and rocks.
The most striking of all is the view from the terraces of the hotel at the water of the swimming pool with the ocean at the background.
It is so perfectly designed that it looks like the swimmingpool and the ocean are one.

Gran Hotel Costa Meloneras: Family reunion in Gran Canaria

Because of the 55th anniversary of the marriage of my parents we stayed with our family (13 people) in this huge hotel with 1138 rooms and suites.
The architecture of the hotel is Canarian and the hotel looks a bit like a castle. There is a lot of art and decoration inside the hotel. Most people like its ambiance and artmosphere very much, but it is not my kind of style.
The huge hotel is divided in 7 patios with different colours and themes.

4 restaurants, different bars, shops, spa, fitnesscentre, swimmingpools, tennis, minigolf, jeu de boules, life music, activities for kids and much more......
