can you tell me how far peurto de maogan is from peurto rico and how much it would cost in a taxi thanks

The distance is about 7-8 kilometers. No idea how much a taxi would charge you. But I know from my visits to Gran Canaria that taxis are not so expensive there. And there are regular buses between Puerto Rico and Puerto Mogan.

In the touristic places they speak English but in the city if you have a small phrase book it will be helpful many locals only speak Spanish.
Because of the climate I think, Canarian people are very slow in their ritual lives. They drive slow ( not in the highway!) They talk on the street too much, they are late on every event.....
So don't get mad
After living in New York 7 years. This place was so slow to me. But you get to use of it....

The apartment complex we stayed at was off the beaten path to nowhere - outside Maspalomas - had to take a bus to the beach & usually a taxi back as the bus lines were L O N G...........
Can't remember the name - don't think I want to!
Sand dunes at Maspalomas

If you want to have the sensation of being at the desert without going there, this is the place to be, kilometers full of sand dunes. You probably might have more difficulty finding the camels and nomads :) not so warm as it might be in the real desert. Great experience - a must once you are there. These dunes form a part of the natural reserve of Maspalmas and is therefore protected area and has special attention from the authorities in its preservation and care.
Casa de Colon (Columbus house)

Casa de Colon is behind the Cathedral and it is good place to relax and see interesting historical place.This house is typical Canarian architecture. Inside the house, it has wonderful patio where you can see the balconies and the sky.
Christopher Columbus is believed to have stayed for different periods in the Casa de Colon in the historical quarter of Vegueta in Las Palmas on his way to the Americas. The house now serves as a museum displaying relics of early transatlantic voyages and pre-Columbian cultures, as well as acting as a cultural center for the study of the Canaries’ relationship with the Americas.
Admission is free
Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm, weekends 9am to 3pm
Lovely houses in Puerto de Mogan

All the houses here seem to be blue and white, and set in narrow lanes with archways above. They are generally covered in flowers make the town really attractive.
Some are small guest houses, but most seem to be private dwellings. There are many small tourist shops dotted around too.
