 | Isla de Tenerife Reviews | Tips 31 - 40 of 142 | | I was staying in this hotel for 1 week and it was a very pleasent stay. the bedrooms are very nice and clean with a tearrace, tv, telephone, aircondition, safety box..there are 3 lifts to go to the upper parts. there is a big restaurant with buffet for breakfast , lunch and dinner, but you can get also snacks at the bars outside the swimmingpool. there is day and night time entertainment for children and adults. For sportlovers there is a gym, tenniscourt, tabletennis billiard and sauna.
the view is stunning and the best thing is you are so close to the beach and and the shops and bars. you can walk for miles if you like but everything is near by. tthe food and service there is very good. It was just lovely to walk along the corridors and finding around every corner some tropical flowers and vegetation, fountains or moorish style galleries.
When you come out of your room on the top floor, you are directly outside in the open air. There are about 500 nice rooms with air-conditioning, satellite T.V. direct dial telephone (outside line), minibar and electronic safety deposit box. Rooms have a mountain, garden or sea view. The Hotel Marquesa is Tenerife's oldest hotel, having been built sometime around 1750. It stands right beside the town's church in the old town, and close to most things - shops, restaurants, cafes, harbour, seafront, lido and so on. The only things that it's not so near to are really all up in the La Paz district - botanical gardens, bananera, casino and so on. The bus station is only 10 minutes walk away, the Playa Jardin (main beach) about 15 minutes walk. There is always something going on outside in the square by the church, and in addition the hotel usually has its own entertainment, in the form of traditional bands or singers, playing on its terrace overlooking the church square. Despite this, and our room faced onto all of that, it was never too noisy in our room.
We had a room in "the old part", right on the front overlooking the square and up to Teide. Most of the rooms though are in a more modern annex behind and beside the hotel. I can't comment on what those rooms are like, but ours was comfortable and not too small, though really quite basic. Its rustic charm (and the views from the window) made up for anything that it lacked in other ways. We were half board (that was the only tarriff they did) though we never intended to eat there. That is just as well, because we did look in on dinner each night and there was nothing there for us. Carnivores will do OK, but vegetarians have no chance. There was a soup that we could have each day, and a desert, but no main course at all. Breakfast was adequate without being too special, and they served a whole host of thngs that looked terribly disgusting to us. Potted and jugged meats, various "jellies" that varied in colour and were all of meaty origin, sausages aplenty (one woman had in the order of 20 suasages on her plate!) and (thankfully) cereals, breads, cheeses and fruit. They definitely cater towards the Germanic side of the market, including Czechs & Slovaks. Definitely don't go to Jardin Tropical. This hotel doesn't deserve the all 4 stars. The standard rooms are very small, the walls are broken and if you are "lucky" you will find some giant bugs inside the rooms. If you complain about the rooms and you ask for your 4 stars rights the reception staff will ask you for extra charge or advice you to change the hotel. The cleaning service is partially available in the room as they don't clean the dust or wash the floor in your room. Even they say the hotel is renovated in fact it is only painted: the furniture in the room is very old, the curtains and the bedspreads are from cheap and plastic materials. The corridors and the elevators are dirty. The photos with the rooms on their website don't show the reality, they are done in Photoshop to look nice. The only good thing is Las Rocas Restaurant and the beach club but if you look for other 4 stars accommodation you can easily find the same for better services. We were staying at the hotel Oasis Paraiso at Playa Paraiso. The room was pleasant and comfortable, and the view we had was quite nice compared to the other side of the building. Food was great ! Buffet for breakfast with everything possible, and in the evening, a great choice as well between soups, salads, hot dishes and desserts. The only negative thing is that we were quite isolated, and unless you rent a car, you can’t really go for a walk at night… you reach the main road quickly and its dangerous to walk on it :-) Otherwise you can easily take a bus to go to Las Americas, Los Gigantes, etc… There’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel. I stayed at the Hotel Xibana Park (***) in Puerto de la Cruz.
The main attractions including the many bars and cafes of Puerto de la Cruz are in walking distance of the hotel. Puerto de la Cruz is the ideal homebase to explore thje whole island. The affordable hotel has a swimming pool, a snack bar and a tennis court. This was the hotel my aunt and uncle chose for they stay, so I had the opportunity to spend a few afternoon in its paradisiac environment. Flowers everywhere and -buildings of Moorish inspiration, this hotel is really marvellous. It has two swimming pools, the first one close to the rooms and pool bar, quite big and with a small waterfall. The second one is a sea-water pool and lies across the path, overlooking the sea. Beautiful view as well !! Food was also excellent. A four stars hotel, but I heard that it is not as good as it used to, so... up to you to make your own opinion :-) Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Playa de Las AmericasPhone: 922 - 74 60 00Directions: Calle Gran Bretaña 38670 Costa Adeje

The hotel stays at Playa Paraiso a quiet place, away from the confusion of Playa de las Americas
The food was espectacular(buffet at breakfast with everything possible, and in the evening a great choice as well between soups, salads, hot dishes and desserts), the pool was a good size and there were plenty of sunloungers all around the pool area and terrace, and the hotel also has a wide variety of recreation facilities including shopping arcade as well entertainment programs(during day and night). The only thing the hotel needs its air conditioning, the rooms are very hot. Leave a Comment

This four star hotel (I would give 5 stars) is a bit off Playa de Las Americas, in more quiet area. I stayed here for a week and loved it. The hotel is very high standard, very clean and food was excellent. My room had a balcony with a seaview (the beach is across the road), fridge, safe, hairdryer, satellite TV. The hotel had a swimming pool where I swam every afternoon after returning from trips. The staff was excellent and very helpful in every matter. Leave a Comment
