    This hotel is renowned for its excellent facilities (2 big pools e.g.) and offers sports, daytime activities and international shows in the evening....

    It is strategically situated in the nicest part of PLAYA DE LAS AMéRICAS, near the beach of course....

    It is a 4 **** Hotel, which means: GREAT and.... it was!

    A PARADOR is a special HOTEL because they are owned by the Spanish Government.

    These hotels are housed in special places of outstanding beauty and in renovated, restored historic buildings, like ancient monasteries and castles and like in my case here on Tenerife in the National Park near the vulcano!

    A PARADOR is always very atmospheric, very special, very good....though NOT cheap!

    There are lists of all PARADORES in SPAIN and you can become a Member to be able to enjoy a variety of advantages and exclusive offers...

    an indoor swimming pool because it can be quite cold and windy high near the top of the volcano!

    There is a nice gift shop, a restaurant, a bar with a nice terrace with a view of the top of the volcano......

    Wonderful, atmospheric place.....

    This is a private development in Los Cristianos. We stayed there in 2002 and we were not dissappointed.
    We booked through the web on www.eurosol.com
    The Penthouse apartment had 2 bedrooms one with ensuite and a further bathroom, kitchen and lounge upstairs ther was another bedroom with a double sofa bed, leading through patio doors to a roof terrace with sunloungers, chairs and a patio table with fantastic views over Los Cristianos.
    Although tis apartment wasnt cheap about 100GBP a day it was first class.

    Very quiet apartments within easy reach of restaurants and bars.

    This is an appartment/hotel. I had an appartment there which was really good. There were two balconies, a good kitchen and a nice bathroom. Towels were changed when you put them in the bath, very environmentally friendly. The staff is very helpful, although the english isn't always very good. There's also a pool with nice stools, so you can sunbathe.

    There's internet and luggage storage. It's 450 m from the beach and 100 m from a small city centre. Squash, fitness, sauna and entertainment.

    One of those All-Inclusive-resorts, but one of the better. The complex was opened in 2001 and consists of 7 buildings, each in an own architectural style. The rooms are large, have balcony or terrace and side-sea-view. All rooms have aircondition (good even in January), minibar, TV etc. The food is excellent, buffets for all meals, and three speciality restaurants. The hotel has an isolated location, but a bus shuttle to Playa de las Americas free of charge.

    A good 3 star HOTEL with all you can expect there.....

    No pool, no specialities, good for 1-2 nights while travelling around....

    Allocated on arrival, 3 Star Colombus Apartments is in the heart of Playa de las Americas. An ideal location because you can get around everywhere and easily, by foot.

    The hotel has many amenities including 2 swimming pools, 2 lifts, a restaurant, gym and 24 hour supermarket. The entertainment provided by the hotel is excellent. If you're too tired to go out at night, you can sit back, relax and be entertained by various acts and live shows. The kids will love it too.

    I stayed in Apartamentos Varadero, which was taken over last year by the Spanish 'Barcelo' hotel chain.

    The service, room, location, and friendliness of ALL the staff was incomparable, even in a five-star hotel.

    I didn't eat there, so this is the only thing I can't comment on (oh yeah, and the bar doesn't yet know how to make a Long Island Iced Tea).

    Here is a picture of my apartment from across one of the three pools. My balcony was on the ground floor behind the palm tree just right of centre.
    I was there as a part of a package deal, but I think it's around 50 euros per night, self-catering.

    I met one of the receptionists in the bar one night, and the conversation that ensued shows the good character of the staff there:

    'Do you work in the hotel?'
    'Yes'
    'What are you doing here?'
    'Drinking! - I work in Reception'
    'I haven't seen you around Reception much'
    'I'm short!'

    ...brand new hotel but as I read the reviews I got the feeling it still is very clean and populare among families.
    The rooms were big with kitchen facilities, clean...well, really nothing to complain about!
