More about Las Piramides

amazing nightlife!

by TripAdvisor Member banginbird

Before we arrived at las piramides I was very worried because of the reviews I had read!
When the bus reversed up the road to the hotel I thought 'Oh no what have we done'...but once we had walked in got our room key and gone to our room I realised it wasnt quite so bad, the room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was really nice. We had a balcony overlooking the smaller pool, only down side was the guys staying opposite us were noisy and quite intimitading! Our room got very warm in the evening but the balcony was lovely and cool but its the middle of summer so it's to be expected. Right onto the reps...they are sooo funny and nice!!! Ok so the excursions are a bit expensive but your on holiday so go all out! My favourite excursions were the chillout cruise on the sunday and the lisa lashes skool night! The other nights were good but they just blew me away! You are literally a 3 min walk away from all the best bars, clubs, restaurants, beaches! everything! And you get free shots going into each bar when your on the pub crawl...also if you sign up for the excursions you get a green banana card which gives you discount at loads of shops, restaurants and bars! definately worth it! Tramps is the best club around, and rags and branigans are nice little bars too! The worst thing about the holiday was the noise on nights we didn't go out, I never once got a full nights sleep! Oh and we had 1 cockroach the entire time we were there and that was 5 mins before we were due to leave anyway!
Would def. recommend this to people wanting to go out and have fun, not really a place to do nothing and relax! And if you have a partner but your not going with them like I did it's horrible because everyones either with their partner or off with loadsa people haha! ohh and late at night on a few occasions the sound of those 'couples' interupted your sleep! haha!
Say HEY to will, Steve O, little Laura and EASY for me!! Alice xxx

Terrible Reps

by TripAdvisor Member H_OGGELSBY

Hotel is ok, if you just want to lay your head down after a night out, and the pool is great. The hotel staff are very rude and patronising and try to get money out of you if something's broken and is obviously not your fault and threaten to call the police! The reps were no help whatsoever, and are only there to get as much money out of you as possible!! Not reccomended at all!

Beautiful Island. Great Hotel! Great pool!

by TripAdvisor Member fisheatsushi

This hotel was an excellent value for about E45 a's definitely worth more. Our third floor room had a great balcony with view of both the pool and the ocean. The pool was large and great. Location was pretty much unbeatable; you can easily walk to the beaches, shopping, and restaurants. Grocery store was great. Didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked like a good deal. Loved Tenerife and Las Piramides; I would not hesitate at all to stay there again.

great holiday

hotel was great ,location was brill. clean and tidy large rooms. no air con but you could rent fan. rooms cleaned 6 times during week.

most of the staff were friendly.

one of the pools was great however the largest pool had an awful smell ,stick to the smaller one.

got a bottle off wine left in our room daty before we departed nice touch.

18-30s reps 2 were fab and very friendly the one with the dark hair was very rude and had an attitude problem.

weather was outstanding and plenty of shops.

i would recommend visits to the water park and tony romas resturant excellent.

watch out for dodgy catches on patio doors some dont lock also do not use ally ways at back of hotel dure to lots of muggings . stay on main roads is my advice.

great value for money would recommend.

value for money

Stayed at the Piramides in a 1 bedroom very spacious with single bed in the living room. Pool was very good and was a suntrap as the high walls around the pool kept all the breezes away. Evening entertainment not to bad but 2 many drag acts for me, Night times can get quite noisy with the youngsters shouting in the corridors and the security seem to let them get away with it. Staff at reception very helpful and speak excellent English. Very close to restaurants and pubs for alternative things to do at night, Although one place called THE ROYAL seems to have a thing against the Welsh people, on the 17th Nov Wales played Canada and at 20.55 with 15 mins to go in walked the compare and turned on the music, when my 71 year old father questioned him on it, his reply was "well mate at nine the music goes on" my father said but every one here was watching that reply was "well its 9 and it isn’t going back on and that’s that" this young man was very arrogant and disrespectful, a few words were exchanged then we left closely followed by a number of other people yet a few nights later I walked pass at 21.30 and the match with Man United v Celtic was still on, so he obviously has issues and the management should get him some public relations tuition. Apart from that there are plenty of other places to eat and drink very close at hand including a very nice Chinese with all you can eat for 5.5 euros. I would also like to add that if you are staying in one of the front facing rooms it can get very noisy through the night with the collection of rubbish and delivery of goods. For the price we paid I will def go back.

Great Hol - No Complaints!

by TripAdvisor Member ennovy1

Just back from a weeks stay at the Primades.
Apartments were spotless, rooms cleaned every day & clean towels every 2nd day. We had a 3rd floor room which overlooked baby pool which got the sun every afternoon on our Large Balcony. Pool is large and split into 2 sections. In April hotel is very mixed ages and had no complaints about the noise (this may vary in Summer months?)
Plenty restaurants round about (Little Italy at bottom of hill was really nice). Veronicas and Starco centre for young at heart are only a 5min walk away but hotel is far enough away from noise to sleep there's also plenty live music pubs and bars with entairtainment round about for mixed ages. I had a fab time and had no complaints about hotel. So if you have booked and don't be put off with some of the bad reviews.

Hotel in a decent location but thats about it. The cleaners were thieves - harsh I know but we had 3 items go within 2 days, bottle's of designer aftershave seem to be their favorites!! reported it to the manager who seemed less than bothered so we lived with all of our valuables in the safe for the rest of the week. On a final note the hotel was full of chavs and this was in April - god help the summer months!!

do not stay here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by TripAdvisor Member swirl999

me and my partener had neverbeen away befor together so we went to ta travel agent and asked for somewere quiet clean hot . and she recomended this. we arrived at night and i couldnt believe how bad it was.groops of roudy drunk teenagers in hte reception area mouthing of to the person behind the counter. this was what the hotel was like all the time .and it was dirty loads of cockroaches and bugs. if you want a holiday surrounded by 16 - 25 year olds who just want to drink party and sleep around then this is the place for you but if you want a quiet holiday, in a clean place or you have young children dont go you will regret it i promis you.

Nice surprise!!

by TripAdvisor Member Playa_de_Blues

Just got back from the Piramides last weekend and despite the holiday blues thought I'd add my two pennies worth to the review board. The hotel itself is very clean and much more than you'd expect from a two / three star apartment complex, the hotel staff are friendly and if you go with Thomson or 18-30s the reps are brilliant, especially Jules, Steve and Laura! Our towels were changed and room cleaned on a daily basis, and we got a few free bar tokens on arrival as well as bottle of red wine in our room as a welcome (would have preferred white ;).

It wasn't the busiest week in Tenerife so the absence of noisy neighbours probably had more to do with that than anything else, but if you go somewhere like Playa de Las Americas in high season are you really there for a walk in the park? I would definitely recommend this place to anyone between the ages of 18 and 30, who are travelling self catering with a couple of mates or a large group. The hotel is in a great location, only 5 minutes walk from Starco and Veronicas with lots of nice restaraunts (La Boca is highly recommended) and show bars / karaoke bars on the way.
I've been to Tenerife three times now and not had a bad experience yet, great holiday, great weather, great time. I'm off to book my next one!

Normal taxi prices

by apj

Hi there!

I'm browsing Internet to compare taxi costs.

How much is the cost for "normal" trip with taxi (not airport transfer). I have read that the price in airport transfers is significantly higher.

Some pages say that normally the km-rate should be 0.40-0.50 €. Is this true?

Has anyone ever traveled with taxi from Costa Adeje to El Teide (cable car)? How much was it?

Thanks for your help!

I know I'm not answering your question, but wanted to say that you might consider renting a car instead. We were just there a couple weeks ago and car rentals are pretty cheap. Also, you will probably want to stop a few times and take pictures, go for a short walk, or whatever - simply taking a taxi non-stop directly to the cable car wouldn't be as good. The cable car was nice, although when we were there there was alot of sand in the air so the views weren't as good as they normally are apparently. But in any case stopping along the way during our drive up was the highlight for us.

Of course driving can be stressful, so you would only want to do that option if you drive standard, and are an experienced driver.

I think that you better rent a car for this trip. This will be the sheaped way to go to el teide because it is very easy to find and so yoiu can go when you want on you're self but to go up whit the cable car it is € 28 each person.
