More about Granada Park Apartments
Loved the Granada Park Apartments
These were some of the nicest apartments we have ever stayed in. They are set back from Los Cristianos / Las Americas on the edge of the golf course and this means that they are fairly quiet. Unfortunately they are also a good 20min walk away from the centre of the resorts through waste ground yet to be developed. The pool area is clean & well maintained although only one of the 3 pools appeared to be heated. During our stay there seemed to be just enough sun beds to go around. The pool bar/restaurant is quite good & reasonably priced, but there was next to no evening entertainment. The on-site supermarket is well stocked & OK for initial provisions, but much better is the Hiper Trebol supermarket (used by the locals) which is a 10 min walk downhill along the main road. Tip. use the side gate to the left of the pool bar to walk into Los Cristianos. Upper floor apartments (there are lifts) have a roof terrace accessed by a spiral staircase, get one overlooking the pool if you can, ours overlooked waste ground. The apartments themselves were clean and tidy but although the kitchen had an oven and four rings it was not overly equipped. The ceiling fans were a good idea, but I wonder whether they as effective as Air con when it gets really hot. We are keen walkers but the location meant that we occasionally resorted to taxis, expect to pay between 4 & 7 Euros depending on distance. There are always a couple of taxis outside of the apartments. We did consider hiring a car, but car parking in the resorts seemed to be a bit limited. There is a courtesy bus that travels into Las Americas at 10:30 & returns at 17:30 in the afternoon, space is limited to about 14 so get there early or be disappointed. We visited the Aquapark, which has a good dolphin show and slides although it was quite expensive and you had to queue for some of the slides. We would stay in these apartments again and if they were nearer the resort centre you would certainly pay a lot more to stay there.
We absolutely loved our stay at Granada Park and if we ever gonna come back to Tenerife, we'll choose that resort again! Great value for the money, clean and spacious rooms, probably the biggest holiday apartment we have ever stayed in. We got huge sun terrace, a prefect area for a barbecue party with friends or a quite evening with kids. Staff at the reception very efficient and friendly, taxi rank outside the resort (€5-6 for the trip to Los Cristianos or Playa de Las Americas). My husband and I prefered a lovely walk to the town center at the evening time, which takes about 15-20 minutes.
I can not write anything negative about Granada Park apartments and sincerely I could recommend that resort to anyone, who would love to spend some brilliant time off without unnecessary disappointment!
We will be back!
Really nice apartments
Got back from Granada 2 days ago and had a really lovely time i went with a friend we are both 27 yr old females. As soon as we entered the apartments we were impressed with the stylish and extremely clean interior and large private balcony, its a beautiful complex which makes up for the fact its not right in the middle of the major resorts, it is however in between two very nice resorts which are both a pleasant walking distance away provided you don't have kids or any problems walking but for two resonably fit young women walking was not a problem and added to the holiday rather than being a problem like it was for some. We didn't have airport transfers so we took the 487 direct from the airport to Playas which was about 2 Euro each and then got a taxi from there to granada park which cost 10 Euro (although I reckon it shoulve been 6 the taxi driver just took advantage of the fact there were no other taxis around to compete with) Its better to get off at los cristianos as it is closer. There is a large bus Terminal at Los Cristianos and we took the bus to Santa Cruz which is a larger town with a shopping mall for a nice day out. There is also a free bus that goes daily from Granada park (apart from Sunday) at 1030 and returns at 1730 which takes you to the los cristianos beach resort where youll find shops, nice restaurants ( I highly recommend Slow Boat Chinese restaurant) and the harbour where you can get lovely seafood or take one of the boat trips to see dolphins or whales, I did see dolphins but was also incredibly sea sick so wouldn't recommend it if you haven't got sea legs as soon as I got on board and saw all the sick bags dotted around I knew it was a bad idea.
The food at the hotel was well priced and very good, the special breakfast can carry you throught to dinner for 6 Euro if you are on a budget.
We went out to Playas on the friday and saturday night and danced the night away but beware of the people trying to offer cheap drink deals cus they are not usually that cheap. We got taxis there and back from the 24 hour taxi rank outside the complex which was fine because we didnt fancy going out every night and because the apartment wa so comfortable we were quite happy to stay in and have some drinks.
Overall a really enjoyable, relaxing holiday I will definately return to Granada park and thought it was great value for money.
A real Find!!
We've just returned from a week long stay at the Granada Park, and I have to say it really is a find.
We found it on a website we have used before for another hotel and this was literally half the price, so before I booked it I checked it out on Tripadisor and then just took a chance.
The outside pool area is absolutely spotless, and the food in the poolside Bar/restaurant is really good.
There were a lot of families around and there was a relaxed atmosphere, very easy going a nd quiet
We stayed in room number 12 on the ground floor which is literally 60 seconds walk from the pool area.
The room itself is quite spacious with a separate bedroom and a reasonable sized kitchen.
The bathroom is a good size too and much to my wife and daughters delight there is a hairdryer there too.
The general apartment is clean and well maintained.
If I was to be really picky I could complain that the ceiling fan in the living room was quite dusty, but, I have no doubt that the staff would have rectified this if I'd asked. We hired a car at the airport and found it a godsend, Taxi's were outside but the price varied from 5-10 euros each way so I'd definitely rather get the car.
All in all we'd have no problem going back, (out of season) as I think that in the summer months the cheap price could attract a younger louder croud.
great self catering apartments
We have just returned from Granada park. We had seven nights at the accomodation, the rooms are very clean and very spacious its one of the biggest self catering i have been in. The pools are clean and two are heated. There are two pool tables and as from the other photos from people a mini golf on accomodation. The pool bar staff are very friendly and are great with kids. The entertainment was ok but my daughter enjoyed the karoke every night most people dont sing its left to the entertainer. The entertainment may change as the season gets into May. The accomodation is situated between los cristinos and playa las america we could walk into either in 15 minutes and returned in a taxi for 5 euro. In either of those resorts there are many shops which sell all the same cheap gifts but there is a shopping complex with many of the designer shops ie zara which is a lot cheaper than here. The one restaurant to go to is Biancos the itilian its above the shopping complex. You will need to book at weekends possibly in the week as well. Weather fantastic cloudy in the morning but 10am every morning very warm in its 80's. We would go back again on leaving the staff gave us a courtesy room for a shower as we had a late flight home the room was a two bedroom and very big this is ideal for a family. It had two bathrooms and a second bedroom which was seperated with a corridor i would try to book this room if we went back but the one bedroom was very large also. The two bedroom just gives you the option of watching the t.v. when the kids go bed. Hopefully book a short break next year
Very Enjoyable Experience
Having just spent two weeks at Granada Park my overall review is positive. The hotel complex is extremely large with two medium sized pools and a childs pool. The snack bar was nice and reasonably priced, the restaurant was also fairly good.
A negative point which affected a lot of people was the lack of sunbeds. If you were not up by 8am to put a towel down, you wouldn't get a bed! The hotel did begin to rectify this by not allowing people down untill 10am.
The staff were very friendly and spoke english. The rooms were very spacious with a good size kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The balcony was also very large containing table and chairs.
An enjoyable excursion which is highly recommended is Freebird; a boat trip to see dolphins and whales (with a free bar!) This can be booked with the reception.
As the hotel was situated on top of a steep hill it was sometimes very tiring to walk there and back into town as it was a 20 to 30 minute treck! The Mare Nostrum resort is the ideal place to be on a night, the restaurants situated above the fountain area are excellent. (Try Teppanyaki!) Book to avoid disappointment. The free bus from the hotel drops you outside the mare nostrum resort at 10:30 am and picks you up at 5:30 pm everyday except sundays.
There isn't any entertainment during the day and the same singer is on each night at the hotel. The bar closes around 11pm. Los Angeles is very entertaining in Playa Las Americas.
Overall, the hotel was very nice the only downside being the distance from the town.
Nice Hotel and Lovely Staff
Myself and my boyfriend have recently got back from our 10 day stay at the granada park hotel, The hotel itself was very nice and the staff were very friendly and willing to help with any questions you had. The apartment was very spacious and the balcony was a good size too. There wasn't really any entertainment just a man singing in the restaurant but nothing more, The food was very nice and a very reasonable price.
My main problems with the hotel were the fact you were not supposed to put towels on beds until 8.30am but they were being put on at 7 in the morning so if you weren't up early enough, you weren't getting a sunbed. They also said that if a bed was left for more than an hour the towels would be removed that didnt happen either so i dont know why they had rules when they weren't enforced, the pools were a bit small for the time of year you couldnt swim in them because they were just too many people. The other thing was the distance of the hotel from both cristianos and playa las Americas, they were fine to walk to and from at night but during the heat of the day they were too far.
On the whole the hotel was nice but i dont think i would go back there or if i did i think it would have to be at a different time of the year and hopefully wouldnt be as busy.
Perfect family accomadation
My husband and I and our 3 children have just returned from a two week holiday at Granada park and loved it !
The rooms are spacious and clean and get cleaned 5 times per week and towels replaced more or less everyday. We had a great room with a pool view.
we stayed from 24th Jul - 7th Aug 2008 and on our last day the kids club was just starting to run, this would have been great for us. our boys are 10mnths, 3yrs, 7yrs and the hotel suited all. The mini golf and park area and plenty of runabout space helped.
The pool area is great and Rocco the lifeguard is great with the kids., it is true you have to get up about 9ish to put your towels down or you might not get a lounger.
The pool bar food was great, the staff Yasmin and mariola and Antonio were brill, Marriolas phrase was "GOOD MORINING IN THE MORNING" which you heard even from our room.
The Restraunt food was also lovely and little Joe entertains you wed- sun.
You take a 15 minute walk turning left outside the hotel into Los Christianos or take a right and take a 15 minute walk ino L.A. Perhaps not the most convenient location but the size of rooms and friendly staff and pool area make up for that.
Wewent to aquapark, dolphin and whale trip and the L.C. market which was great.
We recommend Cheers family bar and Pinkies Beauty salon in Los Christianos and The chieftan or whiskey Jar in L.A.
Mostly positive but we do have a negative We found that some young spanish groups used the hotel for short breaks - due to lowcost and could be quite boystreous and arrogant around the pool side, BEWARE!
Overall I would say this is probably one of the best hotel we have
been to and We will definetely return in the future.
early morning towel-laying brigade
The Granada Parks apartments are amazing, large living accommodation and very clean, only one downside on the room even though we were on the top floor we had loads of ants in the kitchen.
A couple of times we walked into Los Cristianos and Las Americas took half hour for both. The hotel is way off the beaten track and after nightfall there is absolutely nothing to keep you there or nearby as no nightlife unless you have a very quiet drink in the bar/restaurant, to be honest its totally boring (unless your heavily into kareoke). Taxi's cost between 5-7 euros.
The pool scene was like a military assault course, if you were'nt out there by 9.30 then the towel elves would have got there first. The hotel says it doesn't tolerate that kind of 'bed reservation' but clearly does as I witnessed people laying their claim and disappearing for the day only to come back late afternoon for their swim... this said grudgingly as I only managed to get down there for 1 day, I gave up and spent most of my time either on our sun terrace or out and about.
The view from the balcony is fantastic we even had a spiral staircase to a private sun terrace, we ate in the restaurant a couple of times which is ok, the staff were really friendly and reception were great. Tip - ask reception for an airport transfer €17 don't just get a cab as they cost €25 ;-).
Its only negative points are that its far from anything and really needs some ambience in its entertainment for both daytime and evening, maybe we went out of season, who knows, but I won't be back, even though the apartments are fantastic.
fantastic hotel and holiday
friendly clean hotel. stayed there late june weather was fantasitc but not overbearingly hot. room cleaned everyday and there was an army of cleaners around the hotel every morning. lifeguards at the pool side 10 - till 6 during our stay. hotel suitable for all there were 7 ,20 year old girls in totall and had a fantastic time at the hotel. taxi to the center is 6 euros each way very reasonable and the hotel is suituated in a quiet area just outside los cristianos and playa de las americas. getting to the center walking is a bit far but it can be done in 20 mins. however there is a taxi rank right outside the hotel day and night to make stay very comfortable. there is a hotel mini bus service free of charge going to the beach at 10 every morrning and to the center and pick up is at five. the drinks in the hotel are quite expensive from the pool bar but can also be bought from the on site supermarket for a lot less if you want a drink by the pool. The food at the pool bar is very nice indeed and most meals cost on average of 12 euros per person. slush puppies can also be bought for those who like them these are available from the pool bar. The hotel rooms cater for 4 adults sharing there are two singles in one room and two sofa beds in the other the rooms come with a large fridge and freezer and plenty of cooking space for self catering holidays. the rooms are very large and probably the largest ever stayed in at a spanish resort. the bathrooms are very clean and spacious and towels are replace every day or there abouts. The hotel has a mini golf course and 3 swimming pools one is a childs pool , one a heated and a main pool all three are very clean and appealing. The waterpark cost around 35 euros for a day however you have to hire your own tubes i,e rubber rings for an extra charge but a very fun day out. there is also a free dolphin show which i highly recomment as its the best i have seen . the waterpark can be found in costa adgje and is around 25 euro by taxi 10 mins away. The resort of playa de las americas is about 30 min transfer from the airport and also cost around 28 euros one way. nightlife is fantastic and can be found in the center of playa de las americas in starco city which kicks off around 11.30 pm. bars such as brannigans and the main club tramps are there which often feature weakly headliners. drinks are quite expensive in tramps so make sure you get in plenty of drinks in veronicas strip 30 seconds walk away from tramps befor entering the clubs. the pr;s will get you good value for your money and are not as pushy as other countries a no is a no which is good as they do not follow you down the street. a pint of beer and get one free is normally around 4 euros in the bars depending on what the pr's offer you. fantastic nightlife guarennteed to keep you entertained. alcohol from the supermarkets is cheap vodka lt is around 14 euros in the uk its around 24 euros . red bull can be bought but there are spanish versions which are cheaper and nicer in my opinion. for those who smoke the ciggarets are about 13 english pounds for 200 ciggaretts on average. great destination for all families, couples, groups etc. good all round destination and hotel and would deffinatly return.
