great hotel. we're going back this year.

after going there in 93 and having a great holiday, we went budget last year and reckon the extra money we spent on food and drink, looking for the princess quality, we might as well have gone back.

so this year we are. 2 weeks of pure relaxation, great company, very clean, weather guaranteed, only 2 weeks rain every year.
nice to go for a walk off the grounds, but everything you need is at the hotel.

6 weeks away. can't wait !!

Excellent Hotel & Holiday

We have been back to this hotel five times and looking forward to returning in three weeks time, this is an excellent hotel with very good helpful staff. the pools are wonderful and the food excellent, the rooms are very clean and of a fair size. the only minor fault of this hotel is it's location, but this is not a problem due to Taxi's been so cheap - you can walk to the beach in 20 minutes and for a cost of 2.5 euros a taxi for the return.
a excellent Hotel, but please do not tell too many people - we want to book again and again

A relaxing holiday

by TripAdvisor Member annnoe

We have just returned from the Princess/Tabaiba
Hotel Gran Canaria, and have had a wonderfull relaxing holiday. Most of the staff are very obliging
and friendly, and the hotel is spotlessly clean.Food is good and set out to tempt your appetite. Other Hotel guests were pleasant and we made many friends. The entertainment itself was quite good, but
in view of it been the only such entertainment around could have been a lot better (in my opinion)
A courtesy bus to the beach would have been nice although the walk was nice enough I wouldnt like to do it every day!! All in all I would recomment this hotel to anyone wanting a nice relaxing holiday as we did, and YES I would certainly go back ****

Not a bad hotel, certainly not luxury.

Just returned from the Princess hotel in Maspalomas.

I am writing this to warn anyone who wants a luxury hotel, this is not one!

Its a big hotel with a grand reception, the staff are not bad, English speaking too.
The rooms are not bad, nothing fancy, not the cleanest hotel in the world. Dont expect heated floors and fluffy towels here!
The aircon isnt bad though.

One reason we booked the hotel was for peace and quiet, luckily our room was well away from the bars, I say this because...
they were meant to be piano bars, but instead they had pianos with amplified band/drum music, which the entertainers sang along to, karaoke style, loud and bad, nothing to do do with peaceful piano music.
Pity those people with rooms close by, it was awful and continued until after midnight.

The evening entertainment in the downstairs lounge was poor.
The cocktails in the first bar were terrible, made from a cocktail machine in a warm glass.
However, the cocktails in Bar two were fine, dont try the coffee though.

The pools were nice, and heated, great. Lots of sunbeds, palm trees, very nice.

Situation of the hotel is poor, hell of a walk to the beach, not much around.

The food in the restaurant is very good, I would say 4star almost.

I would say its a hotel for wannabes, wanna say they stayed in a 4 star, Thomson rated 5 star. I would say 3 and a half stars.

if youre used to 2 and 3 star hotels, then you may think this hotel is fantastic and really 4 star/5 star.

if you have stayed in 4/5 star hotels, then you wont be returning, like me.

what a fantastic time i had thieves i never heard of anythink like that in the princess hotel and i stayed there for 4 weeks. The what ques for dinner i ask you? because i never seen any there, there was only a queue for people who wanted a 4 or 5 seated on a table. that flash union was good that mrabelle what a voiceall credit like som1 said goes to the entertainment team i had such a great time doing the activities everyday just for those people who are worried about nudity in the spa i never seen any of that and i was in there quite often obiously there are going to be towels on sun loungers were brittish for gods sake!the hotel does have other things to worry about not about whether or not you get 4 sun lounges together.

Fantastic!

Just arrived back a few days ago and had a fantastic holiday.

I have stayed in lots of hotels in many different countries but this was by far the best hotel I have stayed in.

It is excellent value for money. The hotel is spotless The food is excellent. My husband is a vegetarian and there was plenty for him. I also have a fussy 5 year old and there was a kids buffet with chips, chicken nuggets, pasta etc.

The rooms were very large and we found that by paying no room supplement you got a balcony at the front of the hotel which was quiet and sunny in the afternoon.

Taxis were easy. They were parked outside the hotel and a couple of euros took you to the shops etc.

Overal the hotel was excellent. It was spotless with lots of facilities. In the evening we enjoyed the piano bar with a man singing such as elvis songs!

Already looking at booking for next year!

holiday excellence

My wife and I travelled to the hotel in early march of 2005,this being the third Princess hotel we have stayed in,our opinion of the hotel was that the previous two were good but this one was excellent, in fact it was not possible to find any critisisum of the hotel,it,s staff and the facilities provided ,my wife and I have stayed in many so called 5 star and 5 star+ hotels over the years this one compares very favourably with all of them.
Our only critisisum outside of the hotel would be the long walk to what was a lovely beach and to find any shops without going into the adjoing town.

Fantastic

This hotel is a real joy to stay in. It is excellent in every way. It is a short walk to the beach, the swimming pools and outdoor bars are excellent, the evening entertainment is also very good. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. It is an excellent base for exploring the island. We stayed there on a half board basis. The food was of excellent quality and there was always plenty to go round. The dining room was huge and you never had any trouble gettting a table. All in all a really enjoyable stay. The mini golf is a must!

Lovely surroundings

We stayed in this hotel June26th for 2 weeks. It is spotless. The staff were so friendly especially the barman, Julio. Look out for him. The pools were excellent. The downfalls were the outside bars closing at 6pm apart from one which we didnt find out until the 2nd week. It was open for the mini golf. It was so hot we wanted to sit outside. The entertainment was awful, it was all miming. The only people who enjoyed it were the Germans. Also, every other country were all inclusive and they were helping themselves to everything which we found extrememly offputting. We were never offered this. We had half board which was plenty but it looked awful seeing everyone else with wristbands on helping themselves. The hotel was in the middle of nowhere so we had to walk a lot which we dont mind but it was extremely hot sometimes walking back from the beach. I wouldnt stay at this hotel again and we did enjoy it. The beach is lovely with lots of shops and bars. When I go again I will stay the other end of Maspalomas. If you just want a relaxing holiday by the pool then this is the place for you.

Exellent place

Just arrived yesterday from a i week stay at the hotel of your dreams, would reccomend this hotel to anyone including young couples and family.
The food was great, the service was great and there was many variety of food everyday. Pool was execellent and there was part of the pool which had sand which anyone with young children could play. But one of the high points is the hotel is always spotless. We are plannning to go back next year for 2 weeks.
