Place in the sun
My son lived and worked in Puerto de Santiago and Los Gigantes for 6/7 years until his and his partner's return last Christmas. I have spent many holidays there with him and have come to know the area very well. It is less touristy than other resorts but offers everything you need. The best way to get around between Santiago, Gigantes and Plata del Arena (all very close together) is to walk down hill and take a very cheap taxi back. If you are going self catering. The best supermarket for meat is in Santiago and the best one for fish is in Arena.
My time spent there holds very many happy memories for me and I shall be back. The picture is taken from the last apartment we stayed in, it was at the top of the hill overlooking the famous Gigantes cliffs. As you can see it was taken on the 31st December at 10am at the start of a hot day
Taken from the Lido in Los Gigantes looking up to the Royal Sun complex. We spent New Year's Eve up there watching the fireworks all around and on La Gormara
This is a view from our balcony overlooking Los Gigantes. The highest palm tree in the centre was visited every evening at 5.30 by 6 parrots to feed. What a sight, what a noise.

What a view
