If black sand is not to your liking then try the 8 acre Lido Martianez on the seafront with its numerous salt water pools, waterfalls, fountains and sunbathing areas. We enjoyed a lazy day here sunbathing and swimming - parasols and sunbeds can be hired for the day. Take care in the sun though. Although Puerto has a reputation for being cooler than the south of Tenerife the rays are still strong as I found to my cost later :-S Plus you can see by the blue skies its not always cloudier in the north!
