We are hoping to stay in San Andres in August. Any advice? Will it be too hot to enjoy? Which are the best restaurants if you dont eat seafood!!! Where's the nearest hypermarket? Thanks!

for beach and sea no problm in San Andres , but for hyper and super markets you will have to go to Santa Cruz , and the best is to go to "Corte Ingles" "Carrefour" "El Campo" etc.... . For shopping it is best to go to the big city !! In San Andres you will have peace from foreighner but plenty of Spanish and Canarian people are going to tha village. Don't forget to join on "Las Terresitas" the most beautyfull beach with yellow sand comming from Moroco and Mauretanian beaches!!

If you like eating fish you can go to the village next to San Andres , named Igueste de San Andres . You can go by bus , is realy a nice but short trip (about 7 Km I think) Just on the entring of the village you have the restaurant "Rincon de Anaga" , if you ask to the bus driver for this place he will drop you in front of the door. Be early there they have only six tables , you will eat fish fresh from the sea !!!!

This small red & white church stands by the road opposite to the Auditorio. It looks totally lost and out of place amongst the building work that is going on there. I hope that when whatever construction is going on there is complete, the Ermita weill be left unspoiled and easily accessible. It was built in 1643 and is one of the city's oldest surviving buldings.
In the suburban areas around Plaza 25 de Julio there are a lot of very attractive mansions and townhouses. I guess this is one of the top addresses withing the city and it's certainly a different world to the concrete hi-rise of some other parts of Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz is both the Administrative centre of the western Canary Islands and the capital of Tenerife. Located on the northeast cost it is a bustling city and shipping port (one of the busiest in Spain and deepest in the world).
