More about Parque De La Paz Hotel
Excellent - No problems at all
Well i had to write a review on this hotel as i booked a late booking to go to Tenerife in August 2006 to Parque de la Paz. I read the posts on this website and started to Panic as some of the reviews sounded horrible. I was really thinking - oh no what have i done?? But when i actually arrived at the hotel there was nothing to complain about at all. There were 3 girls in total on our holiday and we didnt feel we were picked on becuase our age at all (we are all in our early 20s). Yes we paid the 30 Euro deposit but so did a family that booked in with us. We saw NO cockroaches at all the bed sheets were cleaned every 2-3 days the cleaners were fine. The room overall was very clean. And we had more toliet rolls than we could have coped with. The pool was busy dont get me wrong but we were able to get sunbeds if we went down early enough - but that happens everywhere you go? This hotel is great for families or groups of young people.
So i would just like to add that if there is anyone reading this and have booked their holiday or is planning to book there holiday to Parque de la Paz please dont let some of these reviews put you off - they really made me nervous all the way over but when i got there there was nothing to worry about.
poor end to holiday
we stayed at parque de la paz in july06, i was quite nervous when we first reached the apartments as i was worried that the standard would be poor, we were pleasantly surprised! on arrival we found that reception were a bit infriendly, not very welcoming, all other staff seemed fine, our apartment was good-clean enough, great balcony and quite spacious, only saw one cockroach the whole time we were there and that was ouside on the balcony! the wardrobes in the apartment where the blankets were kept were a bit smelly in our room, so we just kept clothes in luggage case, it was too hot for blanket anyway. we had a great week, didnt bother with hotel pool-no chance of a sunbed, your far better walking five minutes down the road to the beach-(just come out of apartments and walk right to the bottom of the road-best beach)we always got a sunbed and the waters fab-your better going to the other end of the beach the first part is quite stony on the water -it was so hot when we were there! theres a good supermarket -cross the road from apartments, walk up the road take a first right and follow the road till you see the mercadona(great choc-coissants), theres good places to eat all over we liked coconut joes, theres a lovely mexican round the corner but they served me chicken-im vegetarian!so meal was spoilt-but would of been nice, watch the lucky lucky men, they act like your best friend but can get aggresive, ignore the scratchcard people its all a sham to get money, anyway back to hotel, the aprtments are good but on our last day we woke up to water all ove kitchen floor-fridge had broken during the night, as we were self-catering most of our food was in fridge, including choc gifts to take home, we reported it to reception and asked if we could have some money for the spoilt food, reception were not interested and stated it wasnt there problem, furthermore there was no water in the building at all due to a burst water main, we had to be out of room for 12, but werent able to brush our teeth or shower, its so hot you need a shower to cool down, again reception said it wasnt there problem complain to tourist agents, that really spoilt our last day they definately need to improve their customer service.
Wow - What a holiday!!
Just back from 2 weeks at this hotel and what a holiday we had. This was the first time we have had a family holiday abroad (kids aged 7 and 4) and it was fantastic. Cara and Bobby's entertainment was 1st class - we stayed at the poolside bar every night of the holiday the entertainment was that good. Bitter and Twisted have got to be one of the funniest comedy acts I have ever seen!
The hotel in general was excellent. We stayed on the ground floor and although I thought we might be inundated with cockroaches we only had 1 a night (and not every night.) We were half board and the meals were really good. A wide selection for dinner and the choice of either a cooked breakfast or cereal in the morning was good.
Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone - will definitately be going back in the near future
Dont go here
booked 2 x 4 bed apts for two weeks. Staff are arrogant and ignorant never say good morning thank you etc especially reception area which is about as pleasant as a morgue. All families staying here not recommended for a lads holiday as they just rob your deposit just for being young. Irish people beware as were not at all welcome by 90% of the english staying there. Beware of security boxes as we had over 400 euro stolen by hotel staff from our deposit box which supposedly had only one key. Sheets and pillows were not changed in over a week and a half. Cleaners are noisy and speak to themselves when you are trying to sleep. No air conditioning, apartments are hotter than outside temperature. Lots of cockroaches there suprised they would even stay around this hotel. Met a lot of english customers who were trying to get out of this hotel because of all the reasons above. Sun loungers are gone by 6am in the morning by no means enough available for the amount of people staying in the hotel. Strangled cats are better than the entertainer cara there. If you are going to tenerife be advised of this establishment it is the pits honestly. You may think im going overboard with this review but its 100% true. BEWARE!!
What can I say..........
Brochure and travel agent described this hotel as "suitable for young people i.e 18 - 25", however this was not the case and am gald that we only satyed for a week!!
When arriving at the hotel we had to pay 30 euros deposit EACH for our room, complete discrimination, just because we are young! (It would be interesting to see if families had to pay this per person!!!). Hotel staff were friendly to families but not too anyone of our group!
We arrived at the hotel at midnight, and then went get some drink (found a small but cheap place for booze called malibu, straight out the hotel, and its on the left), and then went back the hotel room! Were sitting on the balcony and were told to turn out music off by the security guard - (we only had it a personal cd player played through mini speakers, not loud at all), we turned it off and carried on talking. A knock then came at the door and it was hotel staff saying that we were talkin too loud, it was only 12.45 - we then moved in the hotel room and within 15 mins the phone went, it was reception telling us to be quiet! We weren't being noisy at all - there was only four of us, not 14!! We felt like we had been victimised just becuase of our age!
The hotel is definitely suitable for families and elder people but not our age group as described!
The bar staff were rude, but not to families and Cara and Bobby were dire - acts bought in from outside the hotel were pretty good!
The rooms were cleaned once thorughout our stay, but we had to ask for more toilet roll on several occasions. The rooms were a good size, we had 4 cockroaches in total, and there were loads on the balconies too! The terraces outside the rooms with benches on also had loads and loads of cockroaches running on them at night. The room did its job for sleeping but the facilites wre dated, no electric kettle - only a metal one which took half an hour to boil - NO JOKE!
The pool was okay, not brilliant - no chance of getting as sunbed till after 3pm or later. Better time to go the pool then, as families have gone and thre are not many people around!
We found an ace place called 'Mcguinesses' to have breakfast, turn right out the hotel and keep walking, its on your left! The amount you get for the price is ace!
Good strip of bars under the hotel, and an ace chinese! Cant remember the name but its not the first one you pass on the strip but the second, dead friendly, excellent value and wicked food! We went 4 times in a week!
Overall the holiday itself was ace because we made it good, the area we were in was also good (not smack back in the middle of playa but not too far, border lining Los Christianos).Tenerife is brilliant, definitely want to go back! As for the hotel, would never go back - we have complained to the travel agent for misleading us into thinking it would be suitable for our age group, and that we could feel that we could have fun - at times it felt like a prison camp - infact it resembled 'Porridge'. the security guard is miserable, so are the reception staff!!
My advice; Families - go there, you'll have an ace time!
18 - 25's - avoid it, find some where else, thats if ya want to have fun and actually feel like you can enjoy yourself!
I totally agree with the review underneath mine!!
THIS REVIEW WAS 100% TRUE, take my advice and you'll have a geat holiday in Tenerife, all dependant upon age group and accomadation!
I thought my stay here was great! the rooms were brilliant, there was a good choice of food and something for everyone. The swimming pool was wonderful! The evening entertainment was OK, but not the best. The staff were helpful and available when needed. I really enjoyed my stay and overall the place was nice and clean, it was also in a good position!
stayed in this hotel with my husband in 2003,had such a good experience that, when my mum decided she fancied a week away i chose this hotel again.mum and i went self catering as she is quite a fussy eater and even though hubby and i had really enjoyed the food ,half board,i was'nt taking any chances with mum.the only fault i could find 2nd time around was the room overlooked reception and got no sun at all.2003 we were overlooking the path between the ourselves and the vulcano and spent some time just people watching.mum and i are going back in 2 weeks and i have requested a pool view and sunny balcony, fingers crossed cos i will not be pleased if i don't get them.the reception staff were always polite and i find that people treat you as you treat them.we overheard some very rude people whilst waiting to be seen andthe staff do have a lot to put up with .a very good time and a lovely hotel, will definately return.
Great place for vaule!
ITS A FAB PLACE TO STAY!!! we were there for 2 weeks, in one of the biggest rooms! there was plenty of room it was really nice. We had 2 balconays one facing the pool and the bar and the other facing outwards towards the sea. It was really clean, and the pool was safe. The food in the bar was yummy!!! The burgers are the best. Its a great place for vaule!!!
we stayed for 2 weeks in august. when we arrived we were given a room on the main road it was very noisey, a taxis rank and bottle bank were right outside our room and we didnt get much sleep the first night next morning we complained and werer promised a quiter room in 2 days time, 2 days later we got our nice and quiet room and were able to sleep at night. the rooms were very clean and the maid service was ok,.The pool area is not big enough for the amount of guest staying here in busy peak times was up at 7.30 every morning to get a sunbed which were stacked and locked until 9.00am,The food at pool bar ok and cheap. The lifts kept breaking down got stuck a couple of times for about 10mins so beware.T he entertainment was dire, although some people liked it. These apartments were full of chavs and very rowdish familys,we will not be returning here as there are better places to stay.
First visit August 2005
Second time visit to this Hotel 8 August 2006
My family and I had a brilliant time here. We stayed self-catering(just remember to take a travel kettle the only one in the room was on the hob) Reception staff were very polite and friendly nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were cleaned 5 times a week.
Only had one cockroach in the two weeks. The only disadvantage was the pool was very busy and you had to be up at the crack of dawn to beat everyone else to a sunbed. We could not be bothered we went down to the beach which is only a 5 minute walk away.
A lot of good restaurants available at night the best one was villaflor on the promenade on the way to Veronicas. The best thing about this hotel is if you are a family they do not allow music or loud people after midnight a security guard keeps this in check.
The entertainment at night was just o.k although Cara did work hard.
