La Laguna

As I mentioned before, the old town area is the most picturesque part of town having a small maze of streets filled with colourful and interesting buildings, like the Calle La Carrera and the other streets just off the main square..
We wandered largely without a guide book and it was a delight to stumble across the sights and the streets unexpecedly. One such "find" was this, which I believe is the Iglesia Santo Domingo, set in a very picturesque corner just a short walk away from the main square.
City By Night
by steventilly
The city by night takes on a special feel. Like so many mediterranean resorts (OK, this is NOT the Med) the people go out walking in the evening, along the seafront and through the main streets of the city. It's a warm, friendly buzz that it takes on at this time, and it's a pleasure to walk around.
The buildings are nicely lit (some look better by night than by day) and even some of the parks are specially illuminated.
This picture is the Casino, on the corner of Plaza de Candelaria, the main square of Santa Cruz.

"GranHotel Punta Del Rey"
First visit to Tenerife picked an all inclusive hotel in a quiet part of the island. When we arrived we found out it was in the north of the island near Santa Cruz and was mainly full of locals and Spanish.
Like true British by lunch time each day the pool was deserted and we were still out in the midday sun it was extremly hot and very windy so you did notice that you were burning very quickly.
We visited the Aqua park in Playa De las Americas which I though was excellent any kids will have a ball there.
Santa Cruz is good for shopping.
Images from the Auditorio

The Auditorio of Tenerife is the new concert hall where the major performances will be held- attracting performers and visitors from all over the world. The architecture of this building is very striking and very unique from every angle. Many spaces of the building connect the inside to the outside. The majority of the facade is made of a white tile mosaic, similar to a rounded conference building just down the street from this one. If you get a chance- just follow the steps around the building for a variety of views and interesting architectural experiences. If you are someone who needs to navigate your way around the inside of this building- be prepared to get lost at least twice. It is an interesting and somewhat confusing layout internally.
