More about H10 Lanzarote Gardens
very relaxing and friendly
we have been to the lanzarote gardens hotel three times now and we found excellent value for money. there is a lot there that should be rated a four star hotel. the staff are very friendly and helpful. it is in a very good spot close to shops and beaches.the food does cater for the continentals a little bit to much but it was still very good. we would have gone again this year but we found the prices had gone through the roof so we are going self catering instead.we shall save our pennies and go again.
A perfect winter break.
We have just returned from a week in the Lanzarote Gardens and have nothing but praise for the hotel and its staff. It was exceptionally clean and tidy inside and out and was kept that way by numerous grounds and housekeeping staff. The room was cleaned and the sheets were changed 5 times in a week. The entertainment staff worked tirelessly during the day looking after both adults and children and again during the evening shows and kids disco. We didnt use the hotel restaurant, preferring to use the restaurants at the far right end of the beach and in the town square. On recommendation of a friend we requested a room in block 3 as this has been fully renovated, not that the other rooms looked in anyway run down. Our 3 year old enjoyed time in the kids club and asked to go back for more. The swimming pools are excellent if a little cold ! All in all we had a fantastic break and are already looking forward to going back next year.
Chose hotel as TripAdvisor reviews were so good - not disappointed!
16-23 March 2006: First time to Lanzarote for my husband and I and friends recommended Costa Teguise. Read Trip Advisor hotel reviews and chose H10's Lanzarote Gardens as reviews were all positive. Late-ish booking - flight only (£170 each)and 7 days carhire (£87)with First Choice and booked the hotel direct (e-mail: email@example.com)- a considerable saving and you don't pay until you arrive. See their website for prices (h10). Apartment with half board was 448 euros (£153 each) for 7 nights. If you are self-catering you can eat in restaurant for breakfast (6 euros per person) and dinner (12 euros p/p) or if you book 3 days or more it is only 12 euros p/p for breakfast and dinner.
We took our travel kettle and small fan and asked for a refurbished pool view room in Block 3 (many thanks to Trip Adviser contributors for these tips!) and were very pleased with refurbished Room 225. Large balcony with sunlounger and table and chairs. Large ceiling fan in bedroom but not in kitchen/lounge area. Apart from lack of air-con, we can't fault the hotel or the resort - all spotlessly clean. There is secure parking behind the apartments and reception(excellent) gave us a key to the gate.
It is a family hotel with excellent facilties for children up to age 10. We stayed during school term time so it was mainly couples and couples with toddlers. It wasn't overrun with noisy older kids - during school holidays may be a different story! The 'Animacion' sport/ kids entertainment team were great, day and evening, and not pushy if you just wanted to chill out and sunbathe!
The choice of food at buffet breakfast and dinner was huge, plus chef cooked dishes fresh (eggs and pancakes at breakfast and meat/fish in evening). In the far corner of restaurant there is a separate (fenced off) area for small children to eat in and larger family tables nearby but with smaller tables for two near the entrance. There was a kids club every evening in the entertainment room from 8-9pm so we ate then! The weather was sunny and breezy 21 degrees but got warmer and less breezy as the week went on. It was 28 degrees they day we flew home.
Visited: Cesar Manrique Foundation - tranquil house built in volcanic caves, lovely. Also the fab Manrique-designed atrium foyer in Hotel Salinas, the 5 star hotel across the road to left from Lanzarote Gardens, stunning greenery and streams; The Caves de los Verdes tour was overlong (over an hour)and not for the claustrophobic (you have to bend in half to get through some tunnels!). The tour guide spoke English with a very strong Spanish accent and our group was too large (about 50 people)to be able to get close enough to understand him; Pretty port at Puerto Calero just down from Puerto del Carmen (with boat trips to and from); Playa de Famara surfers beach; Playa Blanca, where you can take a(car)ferry over to Fuerteventura.
All-in-all a fab holiday. Ideal for winter sun break -will definitely return.
We'll Be Back!!
Just returned from a last minute holiday with daughter and grandchildren ( 6 & 8 years ).... what a great choice!!
Quite frankly, apart from some of the rooms looking a little tired, can't find anything bad to say about our stay at Lanzarote Gardens.
We arrived to find that our tour operator had not passed our details on to the hotel. At 9pm and with two young children we imediately thought this is not a good start. However this was "no problemo" to the reception staff who without hesitation placed us in bungalows adjacent to the pool, and whilst we had a coffee, made the rooms ready. This service was repeated throughout the rest of our holiday.
All the staff were great and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms were kept spotless all week, beds made every day, sheets changed, floors washed etc. The restaurant staff were first class and the choice of food was superb for adults and children alike. Plenty of information always available on what was going on, trips, bus time tables etc.
The pools were clean with one heated, and overall the entire complex was imaculately tidy and in which you felt secure.
Anything you required was available, there is a launderette on site and a surgery and chemist attached.
Most of all the "Animacion Team" gave 100% and worked non stop from morning to night arranging games, looking after the children (Kids Club), and providing nightly entertainment which was first class. Their enthusiasm was such that you could not help but join in! such nice people.
For the smokers out their this is only allowed in your rooms and open spaces and not in the bars, restaurants etc.....this is in line with Spanish ruling.
There are plenty of bars and shops within walking distance with the beach no more than two minutes away. These were also very tidy as were the streets and overall Costa Tequise was clean and tidy throughout.
If there was a down side the weather could have been better but you cannot book this!
Overall we had a great time and would certainly return to this hotel. A fantastic family holiday!!
The kids loved this place!!!
My children 2 & 5 loved this place. The animation group worked hard and ensured that the little ones were happy from morning until night. A bit hoaky for the adults -- tried to get everyone having fun -- not pushy though.
Food was only okay and repeated but we always found something to have.
Plenty of places around the resort to just wander off to on a walk or to buy some munchies or trinkets.
Our 5 year old who started with a cough on arrival got worse as the days went on but there was an efficent doctor's office (walk in clinic)right next door and a pharmacy attached to the hotel. Easy fix to a lung infection.
Dec. was cold but we met some nice folks and had a good time.
Would recommend this place to friends!
perfect for families
booked late via alpharooms for only £365 half board for family of four during half term week, resort very quiet but we did not venture out of hotel much due to the quality of the entertainment of a night, lion king superb and made all the better when you consider that these are the same people that run around after the kids all day in the animacion club.food slightly repetitive but all of good quality.would definitley say stay here but dont expect too much outside of the hotel.
Very clean hotel, nicely kept gardens and maid service daily. Stayed for 1 week self catering for just £250. Supermarket opposite the hotel and medical centre next door. Kitchen facilities limited but just enough restaurants along the beach to keep you going for the week!
Hotel staff were excellent, worked very hard entertaining kids and adults from the crack of dawn till late evening. Provided loads of activities during the day, very friendly but never tried to push you into anything if you just want to relax by the pool.
Beach is excellent for families with young children, it is fairly small but lovely sand and very clean, only 5 mins walk from hotel. Costa Teguise is a small and quiet resort ideal for a relaxing sunshine break.
If you want to go out of the resort there is a bus stop at the hotel entrance. Its very cheap and takes 45 to the more lively resort of puerto del carmen and about 30 minutes to the Teguise sunday market.
Overall a good value holiday for families and couples.
A big MusT to stay here
28th April 2006 - 4th May 2006 My boyfriend and I have just returned from here! It was excellent, excellent service, excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent hotel area.
We had a tiny delay on our flight so we arrived later than expected which meant we missed our evening meal, it was about half 10. We asked the receptionist where we could get food from he said no worries we will send you something to your room! Where a member of the hotel staff brought us up a selection of sandwiches, pasta salad, peachs and bottles of water - which we thought was great as they didn't need to as it wasnt there fault the plane was delayed!! The apartment was huge lots of space for the both of us there would be lots of space for 3 people. We stayed half board although we had all we need for self catering in the apartment. There was lots of choice for breakfast, contiental, full english, fruit, cereals and breads. And the same for Evening meal a full buffet with lots of choice - most evenings there was a meat dish a fish dish and a pasta dish with lots of little extra bits. And you could have as much or as little as you liked. There was a mini buffett for children also.
There was a show every night mainly performed by the animacion team but a couple of proffesional teams came for a couple of the evenings. We were really impressed with there version of the lion king and cats the costumes were amazing and made by themselves. We dont have children of our own but we reccommend that if you do have young children you take them here! The animacion team where always keeping the kids busy, always had time for them and there was a wide varity of things to do all day everyday. They even kept the Adults occupied.
The pool area was very clean and tidy, rooms were kept clean and beds made everyday! There is a excellent restaurant by the pool for a huge variatyof lunchtime snacks. All round a excellent Hotel.
We did venture out of the hotel we hired a car and went round the whole island in a day the view frrom Miador del Rio is beautiful and we hada gorgeous meal in La Santa. Travelling round you see some wonderful sites and views.
Costa Teguise as a resort was quiet at the time we were there, we didnt have many late nights as places were empty.
On our last night there we did venture out of the hotels restaurant to a restaurant on the Resort we went out about 7pm and we went to a little restaurant called Casa Blanca we were one of the first people in there but within an hour it was full and people were waiting to eat there. We recommend the wait if you go as the food and service is excellent.
All round an excellent holiday - will recommend and will go back - especially when we have children of our own!
Value for money
OK so my boyfriend and I stayed here from the 23-30 May 2006. I would say this hotel is good for families, couples who want a bit of peace and quiet, Not suitable for party seekers - the hotel isn't geared for it nor is the surrounding area - there are bars. restos etc but the real party area is Puerto del Carmen. Hotel is good for a break away but can't imagine it being my main holiday of the year. Not sure how old it is but its starting to show signs of age - but none the less very well looked after, everything worked but it was a bit tired in places eg the plastic plants in the restaurant could do with being changed, paint in our room needed freshened up that sort of thing.
The hotel is really really well suitated in Costa Teguise. Beach just across the road as is the start of the shopping area. Bus stop right outside the front door from where you can catch a bus to just about anywhere including the famous Teguise market which takes place every Sunday. The market is def worth a visit as is Puerto del Carmen.
Anyway, back to the hotel. Reception staff very helpful and pleasant. Animation team - young, lively, multilingual and very enthusiastic. Clubs available for kids from the age of 6 months to 16 years. Activitites organised for the adults too. Pool area - spotless, sun lounger matresses available upon request and always a lifeguard. Entertainment every night - basic but you can see they've put alot of thought and energy into their acts.
Food - we stayed half board. Breakfast and dinner buffet and you definitely won't go hungry. Good selection, couple of theme evenings. Snacks available at very reasonable prices at the pool bar. Drinks not included with evening meal but once again not over priced.
Room. Be warned as far as we could tell none of the rooms had air-conditioning - ours certainly didn't and even in May it was stuffy. Two large twin beds, bathroom with towels which you can bring to the pool, though no hairdryer. Not alot of shelf space. Living room was Ok with little kitchenette - fridge, cooker, oven, sink, necessary utensils eg plates, cups etc. No basics provided though ie salt, tea, coffee or washing up liquid!! Supermarket just opposite the hotel and not expensive. TV - loads of german channels and not many english speaking. Bedroom : plenty of hangers, extra pillows, sheets changed twice. Balcony with chairs, table and clothes horse. I had ants in my bed the first night which wasn't great but got some ant killer from reception and problem solved. For some reason though someone thought it was a good idea to put carpet in the rooms.....
We booked this holiday last minute and paid 500 euros for the week (flights inc) - Def good value for money and apart from the lack of air con would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. This isn't the first H10 hotel I've stayed in and it will not be the last!
OH - internet at reception = totally useless - super slow def a waste of money.
Fantastic yet again!!!
This was our 2nd visit in 6mths, so must be good. The Entertainment team are fantastic we couldn't keep our kids away from " Daisy Club" this the only hotel where they have asked to go morning and afternoon. The food is fine, the entertainment great, the rooms are being updated so might be worth emailing hotel when you've booked to try and get a updated room, they are very accomdating we asked for the same room as we knew balcony is in sun all day!!!!!! The pool is safe for the kids and there is always a lifeguard, never any trouble getting a sun bed so no getting up at 6.
Costa Teguise is a lovely resort, please don't just use the main beach there are others, turn left out of the hotel intead and there a beach just a little way up( 5mins) Las Cha..... can't remember how its spelt. Has rock pools etc and is really quiet. The hotel is opposite a commercial centre which has everything you need, the chinese is really good if you fancy a break from hotel food.
We are already trying to decide when to go back, we book thru Medhotels and get flights separatley and paid half of what others had.
Please give it a go, perhaps we'll see you there!!!!!!
