Hotel Vincci Puertochico

Great location, great view.

We stayed at the Vincci Puertochico for 2 nights in March 2006 and were happy with our choice. The hotel is situated on Castelar which is right in the heart of the old town district overlooking the harbour. Our sea view room on the 8th floor had a great view of the harbour and the snow capped mountains in the distance. The room had large opening windows so the 20 Euros per night extra for the sea view was worth it.

We found the location to be ideal for us as we were within walking distance of everything. We caught the bus to and from the airport which cost just 1 Euro 50 each and left us with a pleasent 10 minute walk to the hotel along the sea front. The Cathedral and the old town district is right on the doorstep or if you leave the hotel and turn left you are heading towards La Magdalena, the beaches & El Sardinero.

Unique Quality: The room itself had everything as advertised i.e. TV, safe, mini-bar etc but was compact to say the least but was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was well equipped, clean and quite spacious.

We only made it down for breakfast one morning but were glad that we did. All the usual suspects were available including fruit, meats, cakes, cereals, juice etc etc as well as hot sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs. Everything was good but my favourite was the spanish tortilla - yum yum!!

We could not fault any of the service. Our Receptionist was friendly, helpful and fortunately her english was much better than my spanish. Service at breakfast was just as good as was the maid service.

Despite the size of the room we would probably stay here again due to the good service and the benefits of the central location.
