Playa Santa Justa

Santillana does have a beach within it's jurisdiction.

Santa Justa is a popular little beach neatly tucked between some dramatic cliffs.

There is a pathway which takes you from the viewing platforms and left to the cliffs which overlook the sea. This is a great place to sit and listen to the power of the sea, and watch the tide come in.

Calle del Rio

At the end of the Del Canton street starts the Calle del Rio leading to the “Colegiata” (Saint Juliana´s collegiate church).
The name "del Rio" is appropriate because water is running over the street coming from a public wash house. Some hidden source is feeding the pond of the wash house.

Ancient houses

Santillana still lives in the Middle-Ages; ancient houses are charming, so just walk around and enjoy the prettified façades.

Santillana Del Mar... The Most over-rated Town in

"OvEr-RaTeD...."

Maybe I read too much about Santillana del mar (not on the sea I know)... but this place is the most over rated place in Spain (not the prettiest).

Loved the Museum of Torture (3.60 Euros entry, worth it, really funny!)

Over-priced drink and food... loads of coaches, and I went out of season!!

So don't believe the hype!
But surely VT'ers can't be wrong!!! (trust me the majority are this time)
