Alarcon Fortress Stay
If you viewed my other Accomodation tip, you will know about Spain's Paradores. This location is an Arab-built fortress from the 8th century, now suitable for modern hotel stays. It is reached via a winding road and gives an overwhelming sense of privacy and history, with not many other buildings at all in the nearby vicinity. You can climb the turrets and gaze at the River Jucar over the battlements. But watch out for the worn-smooth-over-the-centuries stairs - I had quite a tumble down an entire flight of them on my way to check out, luckily not breaking Lladro purchases, the Nikon camera around my neck, or most importantly, bones! The architecture and service really make this a unique choice for your travels.
