Transport from Madrid-Toledo to Seville

by Janemei

Hi fellow travellers
Do you know what would be my best option to travel from Madrid-Toledo-Seville in November 2007. Also do you know of any other airline (I know of Ryanair) that flies from Seville to London.

Thank you thank you.

I was also exploring that option Madrid to Seville. But apparently, it is very expensive by air. you could try these airlines: iberia, spanair, aireuropa, airmadrid, vueling. Or the other option would be by train with AVE services.

Madrid-Sevilla by air may be or not more expensive depending on the dates and special deals. But having the possibilty of AVE train it makes litte sense, no way flying would cost you less than 2.5 hours (total time). The cheapest way will be the bus.

Problem: AVE to Sevilla goes from a diffent line than the ones that go to Toledo. So, unless there are buses (don't know) from Toledo to Sevilla, it looks that the only option is returning to Madrid to take the train or bus there.

For flight Sevilla-LOndon, look at a search site, i.e. www.trabber.es to find the best deals for your dates. Apart from Ryanair, Iberai and Clickair (the low-cost subsidiary of Iberia) do this route, maybe others

Hope it helps!

Hi
Thanks that helps.
Just wondering if there's an English version for viajar.com?

Hi,
According to the Toledo bus station's website [http://www.ayto-toledo.org/servicios/estacionbus/bus.asp], the only buses that gets you going in the direction of Sevilla go only as far as Ciudad Real and Puertollano.....which are on the AVe line from Madrid to Sevilla.

However, going from Toledo to Ciudad Real or Puertollano takes about 2 hours, so it's not really time effective to do that....especially since the bus and train stations might not be very close together.

So, it lloks like it makes more sense to return to Madrid and then go by bus/train/air to Sevilla.

If you consider the time it takes to get out to the airport, and the ~2 hours early you need to be there before a flight [and getting from Sevilla airport to downtown] IMHO the flight would have to be REALLY cheap for me to go by plane unless I was already in the Madrid airport. It would actually take less time to go by train, because the AVE can go from the center of Madrid to the center of Sevilla in 2.5 hours.

The least expensive way to go is the bus. Socibus [http://www.socibus.es/index.html] has buses leaving Madrid's Estacion de Autobuses Sur nearly every hour, and cost less than 20 Euros. The bus takes about 6 hours, which is a lot longer than the 2.5 hour, 65-72 Euro AVE train ride, but for a fraction of the price.

Therefore, whichever is more abundant [money or time] might help you decide what mode of transportation to take.

Toledo is the frequent "hero" of the Spanish literature. Lope de Vega gave Toledo a name "a crown of Castile". More than 20 thousand Jews lived in Toledo. The name of the city occurs from the Jewish word "toledot" - "a number of generations".

Handmade Jewelry

by jamiesno

All over Toledo you will find amazing jewelry hand made with 24 carrott gold. There is gold everywhere on plates, bangles, earings, rings, and the list goes on. It is beautiful and often mixed with steel. Jewelry! Like any jewelry it depends on how much gold is involved and how much detail was required by the person who made it. The range for some very nice jewelry was from $20 Euros and up from there!
