Hotel San Juan de los Reyes, Toledo, Spain - Reviews and Hotel Information

We were looking for a hotel in the old part of the city, within easy walking distance of the centre, and found the four-star Hotel San Juan de los Reyes through the internet. It is situated in the famous Jewish quarter just along the road from the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes and is about fifteen minutes walk from the Cathedral in the heat of the day. The building opened as a hotel in May 2000, but in the past has been a sword factory and was a flourmill until 1996. Now it is a comfortable hotel with 36 rooms and two suites. Its one failing is that although it has a bar and coffee shop, and banqueting facilities, it does not have a restaurant. This does not matter though, as there are a number of places to eat within easy walking distance. We followed the recommendations of the receptionist and had some very good meals. Although the hotel is in the old city, it was easy to find by car, and has its own garage in the basement, so parking is not a problem.

The hotel is not particularly cheap, the published rate in 2005 is 130 euros for a double room, but the rooms are large and very comfortable, and we would use it again.

The photo is taken from the hotel’s website as I haven’t got one myself. I know it’s against the rules, but in this case I don’t think the hotel would mind.
