See my Santo Domingo de Silos page for more details about this lovely village, its monastery, and its Gregorian music lol
The most celebrated monument in Santo Domingo de Silos is the Romanesque monastery, which has become also famous for its Cd of Gregorian music.
Is one of the oldest in Spain, created on the 12th century.

Another of the arches originally in the city walls, this arch still has substantial amounts of the wall still intact. It was built in the 14th century in the Mudéjar style, a muslim style used by the christians and often using muslim artisans. The gateway was originally used for the monarchs and important visitors to the city. It is flanked by two defensive towers. King Alfonso X originally ordered its construction.

In Burgos there are some places nice to roam and this one along the river is one of them. Pay atention to the sculptures in both sides. They portray some Spanish Kings. These sculptures were brought from the Royal Palace in Madrid and placed in this place.

"HIKING TRIP (SEPT 28-29) IN BURGOS!!!"
Hello my dear friends,
I have just found out in this magazine (DeViajes) that there is this hiking excursion planned for this weekend in BURGOS. It costs 100€, includes the trip by bus, the lodging in a 3 star hotel in Medina de Pomar, half pension, a guide, and insurance. It is organized by HACIENDO HUELLA (953-04-41). I have not called yet, but I am interested in going. Would anybody else like to join me?
Since it is this coming weekend, I would like to know ASAP if you would like to go.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
zuzu
